You know... I think there's a high likelihood he could be him. This is a very weird post and even a bit tasteless, yet he has a decent number of posts since he joined. Just remember, there was NOTHING to talk about here for about a month since he joined, so 80 in one month isn't bad.

OBM posted a lot.

We have our big brains because we started eating meat. First we started eating raw, and this gave us an evolutionary leap, and then we started cooking it, which is what jump started us toward what we are today.

I love cow.

We're Homo sapiens.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neanderthal

5th paragraph down "Neanderthal cranial capacity is thought to have been as large as that of a Homo sapiens, perhaps larger, indicating their brain size may have been comparable, or larger, as well. In 2008, a group of scientists created a study using three-dimensional computer-assisted reconstructions of Neanderthal infants based on fossils found in Russia and Syria. The study showed Neanderthal and modern human brains were the same size at birth, but by adulthood, the Neandertal brain was larger than the modern human brain."

We have been eating meat ever since and according to Wiki, our brain has shrunk.

Summary: Vegetarians have higher IQ

Here is another study that comes up with the same conclusion:

Neanderthals interbred with humans, and, anyway, their development into those big brains happened after and was a result of cooking food, cooking meat, just like us. So this is consistent.

Vegetarians might very well have higher IQs, but this is the old causation and correlation deal. We have to consider what types of people become vegetarians.

This interested me and I did a little reading. According to Wikipedia, humans and Neanderthals lines split from common ancestor 200,000 years ago. Neanderthals developed bigger brains while humans developed higher IQ's. That is consistent. What caused the split is of course unknown, my hypothesis is it was eating meat. Neanderthals ate it mostly while I think (this is just an opinion) humans were mostly , if not 100% vegetarians. Of course that is no longer the case. You are absolutely right about causation and correlation tho, converteing to vegetarian does not improve the IQ right away. It might, however allow us to evolve farther and farther away from Neanderthals.

I can see it improving your intelligence. Eating healthy gives you a lot more energy. Therefore, you go out, gain more experience in the world, take some time to read, excercise, work, f**k, raise a family, all that. When you eat unhealthy, you tend to have a lot less energy, and we all know what happens then.
