Knicks finally closed out a game vs. the Celtics. Something they had just a little bit of trouble with last year

.
Melo was a monster, and a monster down the stretch, which is exactly what we need. The defense against Rondo was atrocious. They almost would let Douglas or Shumpert drive into traffic so that Rondo would be free in transition. It was ridiculous watching that happen over and over and over....
man I don't care what you say carmelo is a superstar
Since we need a PG with Shump, Baron and more temporarily, Bibby out, and Arenas and Nate are not what we need, then who else is available that may be a better fit?
I haven't heard about anyone noteworthy... Suggestions, fellas?
Amare had a huge block on Bass in the final seconds.

It's really hard for the clowns to continue to complain about the trade. But I've learned that clowns know no bounds.
In 10 years everyone we traded Melo for will be but a footnote in history. Without that trade this team would never have
been assembled. Once we figure out our PG and SG situations we'll be serious contenders. Hard to imagine that the group
we had assembled prior to Melo would EVER have been serious contenders. Knicks contenders Nuggets lottery team for years
to come. Melo made us relevant again and his departure insured the Nuggets will be the new Clippers where no superstar will
ever voluntarily decide to reside.

Yeah saw the same thing, looked like it was designed to work that way. Sure seemed to effective.

Douglas always looks horrible trying to defend Rondo. Can't stay with him.

Nah dude, i'm sure Gallo would've taken over in the 4th like that & Mozgov definitely would've shut down the lane like Chandler

I don't think people ever argued that he wasn't the better player but the argument was about youth vs now issue...Two different issues...

Ramon Sessions???
Once Melo went to the bench is when all the problems started, The Knicks have nobody else to set up the offense TD is horrible at running the offense and Shumpert looked out of control even though I liked his energy. We need Baron Davis quick otherwise I could see collapses like this happening again.

Yes, this is true. Shump was a little out of control but thats cause he has zero experience. He should get a 20 game grace period IMO.

It was the 1st game and it was against a GREAT defensive team in Boston. You have to put things in perspective. No the offense doesn't look good, but it's early and very few teams look good against the Celtics D.
I don't know who we could get that would actually be a good pick up at this point. Just have to tough it out on offense and play tough D to win games until B Diddy and Shump get back. I wouldn't really have a problem with picking up Arenas to be honest. People make him into the Devil, but he's not that bad really.

Dunno on Arenas. Bibby will be too big a deficit on defense. It was a weird game. Never seen TD get a tech before. Melo exerts his will in the end but the journey had 5 TO's to lead the team. Stoudemire was a non-factor on defense once he got his 3rd foul. Nice strategy by Doc to leak Rondo out anytime the Knicks guards went into the lane. Bad team defense not to cover over and over.
Knicks rebounding was atrocious. It has to be disruptive to whoever is trying to be PG for Anthony to demand the ball immediately every time up the court. When Shump was in with the starters they built the lead. When he was in with the subs in the 3rd we were really faltering as soon as Melo left the floor. Things stabilized a bit when TD & Amar'e chip away at the lead. As soon as Melo comes back in Knicks tie on back to back 3's by TD and Melo and it's game on.
Boston didn't have Pierce but I'll take it. We didn't have a lot of guys healthy last 4 games against them. The journey is only begun.
I love how Baron is coaching the players on the side. Even getting in Melo's ear at one point and talking KG down after time had expired.
One thing I noticed while watching this game was the need to manage rotations. While Melo is resting on the bench Amare should be playing center with a stretch 4. When Amare plays with Chandler he has trouble getting to the rim, due to spacing. This is why he is taking more jumpshots now.
am i the only who thinks that with Pierce the Celts win this game?
Although with BDiddy maybe it's a blowout by the 4th
Love the win and the effort but Boston was running some of the same plays from the playoffs and we still weren't ready...
The changing of the guard.
