Just saying who is out there in case we need to let MDA go. I'd give my left nut for JVG.

if they fired him mid-season, it would probably be woodson (interim tag). Don't think they can pick up a big gun during the year.

Id rather watch this team go out and play great team D and have the offense be years behind. I think MDA is pressing on offense because our lack of scoring and we are taking steps back on D. A defensive minded coach is going to stick to his D even if the scoring is lacking. MDA is going to stick to his offense when the team starts to fizzle out. We scored today but take 4 steps back on D.

Edit: We do a poor job of clogging the passing lanes. Lack of understanding on team Defense.

I would promote Phil Weber (current assistant) cause he looks exactly like Sammy (The Bull) Gravano so that should scare the knicks Shitless into playing some D

Gee whiz, so that's why he put Shump and Balkman into the game and why he's tried to use Jared cuz at all times he'll pick offensive players over defensive ones! Come on man, there's ample evidence that he tries to balance things on this team but it's not easy when 2 of your main players don't defend very well.

I think that they will continue to coach these guys up on defense cuz at some point you just have to get these guys to play better team D. There's no one else they can bring in that can rescue the team.

We know that Shump is an energizer and that Balkman will hustle. I think we just need to keep searching for lineups that work defensively. Also when Jared comes back that's another good team defender to help be a glue guy on D. Jared covers a lot of ground and shows on curls and PnR.

There will come a time when this team is playing well on both sides of the ball and then all of the MDA haterz can sit back and be quiet.

After seeing how our O played especially with Iman. He is our third scorer. I think he can be a 14-16 guy in his first year. I truly believe that we can be a top 5 team. But this is James Dolan's fault. He should have fired MDA and got Mike Brown or Lawrence. If we had got a defensive minded coach from the get go this team would be playing good team D and pulling ahead on teams. We can't stop anyone from scoring. B.Davis, Iman, Melo, Amare, Tyson with a Coach Defensive minded coach and we could be a top 5 team. Iman showed that he can play Lock down D and he can shoot and get into the paint. Amare looked good and aggressive on D. Chandler with the alley oops from Baron. This team would be scary. We know they can score. But if they played good team D and we would put teams like this away and not give up all those bone head easy lays ups and baskets. Late rotatioons. "Improvised defense" as Tyson stated after the game. I have no doubt that offensively with Iman, Bdiddy, Amare and melo this team will have enough offense to win games. Our defense is doing us in. Mda as a head coach has never had a defense that wasn't ranked lower than 20 in pts allowed. I believe in his 8 seasons he had 6 seasons where his teams are ranked 25th and higher in points allowed.

When I said he goes to offense I met his coaching what they cover in practice. You think after only scoring 85 points the raptors he was preaching defense at practice? You think he was saying "keep your heads up we will win with defense our offense will come" Or do you think he came in and had these guys working on offense? Defensive coaches when their offenses fizzle they continue to preach defense no matter how bad their offense was. They have the mentality as defensive team. Teams like the bulls and the heat. The heat are a defensive team before they are the Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh show. They know that their defense will eventually win them games.

Not bad. But he really is a carbon copy of Sammy the Bull - kind of eerie how similar. Maybe he is hiding in witness protection program as a knicks assistant. There is no better place to hide.

After reading in the book Seven Seconds or Less that Phil Weber tucks his shirts into his underwear, it's always the first thing i think of when i see him.

Wanna make this team even worse? Build it one way then change philosophy mid season.

Like on offense, you got chemistry issues on defense.

No, what I said was this team has not been built to play strong defense. Its built to run and gun. With new players it takes time to blend that together. If you fire MDA to go to a defensive minded team that very well could stall the progress.

Thats what the Suns did when they wanted MDA out and D-minded Terry Porter. It was a disaster and they went back to running again.

If you want that kind of team you pretty much don't bring in Amare and Melo as your duo and expect any great Defense minded tough team.

This can't be fixed overnite regardless of who is at the helm.

We all read that a short preseason was going to be particularly hard on the Knicks.

There hasn't been 'progress' in a very long time. This team is NOT built to run and gun. The team could be a average to above average defensive team especially with Chandler in the middle. Certainly it sholdn't be bottom of the pile in defense and rebounding. You want to keep run and gun, maybe someone else is better qualified to do it without ignoring other aspects of basketball like defense and rebounding. Neither of which MDA has EVER cared about.
