as opposed to the switching he always does? Didn't he observe Kurt Thomas at all when they were teammates? It's not like STAT doesn't have the ability to get back quickly either because he does. This is fundamental bball.
Disclaimer: Yes, I watched the game last night and I realize the defense, for the most part, was pretty good. It could have been better (Despite what the score shows) but it was still good. I also realize that STAT has been playing much better recently. Therefore; Haters of my criticism that's clearly true can take a hike.
Cause he sucks at defense
"Stars" often don't play at full speed all the time. Stat at crunch time will move his feet and go all out but like many players away from the ball they have to sometimes spread the energy out and conserve.
We watch knick basketball more than most teams and its obvious Sportcenter won't show "lowlights" such as when Dlee or Stat won't go after some plays. They risk injury and foul trouble.
Its hard to do on TV but when you watch games live you can see it when you follow players off the ball. Its not pretty.
The team defense has been great but Amare sidestepped alot of plays and let guys sail in uncontested for layups. He also refuses to put his hands up to contest shots. I guess its cuz of foul trouble but its a liability on the interior. I'm thinking he's hurt cuz he isn't jumping like he did last season. He might be too heavy
