....should Lin get the nod? It would be great for ratings and NY.
I think that would be a bad idea.
You can't makes someone an all star based on 6 games.
Also, there will be alot of resentment that would develop among players for putting someone in the all start game based on 6 games which would be bad for Lin.
There's always the option of the 2nd vs 1st year game.
Although, honestly I think Lin could use the rest during all star weekend rather than playing another game.
I don't think Lin should be included, he has barely played. Yes he is exciting, but he is not an all star this year.
Now next year is a different story.
you have to admit that his first 6 starts have been pretty much unprecedented. He is breaking records set by an impressive list of players...many of which are HOF'ers
On the basis of what it would do for the All Star game in China, David Stern should pick Lin - any flack aside.
Need a phantom injury to someone on the sophomore team.

No go on All Star, 6 games is not equal to half a season. Now Shumpert, on the other hand, should be in the Rookie-Soph game. How he's not even considered, is a travesty.
No way. The media crush is already at rock star level. Let Lin use the time to rest (and heal) his aching body.

Absolutely. The best part is that Masterlock will play the second half with a chip on his shoulder.

two key games coming up. If the Knicks beat the Mavs and the Heat....Lin will be beyond rock star status come the break. He will dominate all discussion at the all start game regardless of whether he is there or not....I hope he is invited. His story is global and good for the game and NY

I don't understand how he wasn't considered.

Maybe Lin will be named to that game. Still would be an achievement considering he hasn't been playing most of this season.

Kenny, Barkley, Reggie and the TNT crew was the reason Shump is not in the Rookie-Soph game. They were killing Shump that night when he took 25+ shots.
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basket...Sounds like a fair compromise. Per Isola, NBA looking to add Lin as part of the Shooting Stars competition.
I agree as terrific as his past 6 games have been, it's just not enough for the ASG itself. But I like the idea of getting him involved in the weekend.

I heard Stern said "definitely NO" to All Star Game, but "possibility" to the Skills competition. That'd be a great compromise in my opinion for having Lin participate in the weekend.
If I'm Lin ( sounds amazing ) I use time to rest.
I read article where his trainer said up to he got playing time and all
Through lock out he has been straight beating Lin up..
He said bruises on arms come from shots to the body while Lin was throwing shots up
In practice ...
Then travel to D League. Sleeping at brothers house. Getting appt. Non stop media
Attention
Kid needs a rest.
Wow the idea of a fresh legged Lin is unreal.
Oh how I wish I was in his shoes either way!
Asian mofos will be on it next year. I bet Lin becomes a starter next year if he's playing well....our not!

The place for Lin at all-star weekend is the rising stars challenge if somebody gets hurt.

Yeah. I wish he would get to play in that game with Fields.

but does that surprise you the media take 1 game and run with it all the time in creating assumptions that then the average follower takes as reality
