With Lin learning on the job, I really think D'Antoni needs to be more aggressive in calling timeouts to settle things down. We all know D'Antoni does not like to call timeouts, but he has to start using them more liberally, considering we have (essentially) a rookie running the show now.
Against the Hornets the other night, it was very clear early in the first quarter that Lin was out of control, and the whole team was out of sync. So calling a timeout early on was the obvious move. But unless I am wrong here, D'Antoni did not call a timeout (if he did, it was not nearly soon enough). It probably would have done Lin some good to sit down for a minute or two during a timeout, and have D'Antoni and others encourage him and tell him to just take what the defense gives him, don't try to make a "great" pass every time, etc.
Lin seems to commit his turnovers in bunches, so D'Antoni needs to be on the lookout and call timeout as quickly as possible to try to avoid lengthy spells of turnovers.
MDA should signal using the midwestern technique of calling time outs. Basically set the right hand as the top of the "T" and then bring the left hand diagonally underneath then raise both hands up to his chest all the while repeating the words "time out"!
He he must understand that using the Mediterranean east european style of setting up the base of the "T" first then completing the top second at or near his face puts the team out of rhythm and confuses them.
Just another reason why MDA needs to go. YOu would have thought he'd bring in a top hand signal expert by now to help the team with it and subliminal communication!
Jeez!

I thought that was part of Herb Williams' responsibilities? Maybe the problem is that the refs can't see Herb because Herb can't seem to get a seat any closer than the second row.
Lin commits TOs in bunches because he is a rookie. I am not too worried about his high TOs. I want to see game adjustments. In the last game he had 8 at halftime. He had 1 in the 2nd half. He made adjustments. That is all I can ask for.
Although Lin is being tooted as the new sensation, he still does not get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to foul calls. During that 8 TO half, he was getting
HAMMERED. I know that everyone pays dues, but the abuse he has been taking at the PG position is
RIDICULOUS

He has been hammered three games now
Lin is not just committing TOs because he is a rookie, but it is also a fatigue thing.
I mean the kid is playing over 40 mpg because we need him to, if we want to win these games....
Can't expect him to do everything perfectly, when you play that many minutes you are going to get tired. When Melo comes back, it should relieve some of the burden and especially if/when Baron comes back. We need another play-maker to make things easier on Lin so that he doesn't need to carry the offense all game.

I agree. MDA needs to do a Phil Jackson and complain in the media.

Thank you. i mean Lin is human after all. To's happen in this system sometimes but lin still is aggressive and as he gets more experience thet will go down
