Knicks · Season officially over (page 2)

Woodson will take over. this shake up might inspire the team to win one game after the firing. but we'll start losing again. unless we get a coach that can hold our "superstars" accountable, we're back to the starbury years. but hey Melo will get his 25 pts a night.
Uh - sounds like piggy backing.
MDA will not get fired this season. And if he gets fired in the off season, it better not be for woodson.

I also think these guys have played ball for a long time and in other places and would not have that hard a time adjusting. Minimally I think they could do as well as they have with D'Antoni.CrushAlot wrote:Clean wrote:If MDA bring Amare off the bench before the end of the season he will gain respect in my eyes. I just don't think Melo, Amare, chandler and Lin can start and be good at all, The pieces just don't fit.I think things have gone way beyond that. I think the coach needs to go. If he stays the Knicks probably are not going to the playoffs. If he goes they may not go either but it has gotten to the point where there is no reason to keep him.I doubt we are going to the playoffs anyway. You really think that this team, who has had some time to learn the system, will play better learning a new one and win enough to make the playoffs THIS SEASON?
The only realistic way we do it is if we can somehow get Linsanity play back. Does that mean having both Amar'e and Melo off the bench? I don't know, but since it wont happen because they are the big bucks stars, we can kiss a winning season and the playoffs goodbye.

Yes. Re-phrase ... He will not get fired now. If he is not resigned/extended in the off season [previous post: continue from it better not be ...]

Only thing that can save this season is an ACL tear for Melo.
LOL!!! Poor Melo. We don't need to go to that extreme.
The Knicks need to take things one practice and one qtr at a time. They need to figure out why they keep falling apart in the 3rd qtr of games. Once they all get on the same page things will start to come together. They need to come together as a team and play as a team. But there's no sense in taking the position that it's a lost cause. It's in their hands to make this right.

Losing streaks are very hard to take, but I think we need to step back and remember that this team isn't finished at this point in the season. No one likes the way the team is playing, but why throw in the towel on a season that isn't over? The Knicks need to take things one practice and one qtr at a time. I will root for them until the magic number is zero. I actually think they will still get the 8th seed. But they still suck, and are underachieving. PJax? Nix, I promise you will love him. And, you won't need to conjur up stats and interesting arguments with inside knowledge of how things are not as we see it. Why? Cause Jax has rings so we won't need it. Will that leave you jobless? Just kidding
You will find your niche.
There aren't enough games left to make a change this season and I think they really need to give this team a chance to pull itself together. It's just a horrible season to try and make so many changes with so little time to adjust. Still I think they can get back to a higher level of BB if they just keep working together. Why shouldn't they make every effort to do that?

Maybe he did or maybe it was unfair. But he has not done a good job in my eyes. Lin temporarily saved his job and now the seat is very hot again.
This is why we have a GM. Let him judge and figure out if MDA should be kept or not. Or, will you say Grunwald is an Isiah guy and that is just not fair. And I respond - dems da breaks.
The season is not officially over until its over.
New York Knicks March Madness is upon us.
I miss Jared Jeffries.

hahahaha
JJ was the key to it all. You know why? Because there is nothing left to pin it on.

This org. knows they dealt MDA a shifting hand. I think he deserves a chance to get it right. Each and every time they've had a team that is starting to work, there are changes and a reset. So it's fair for the next guy to get a clean and full Training camp and a season without a ton of midseason changes, but MDA just get's screwed??? That sucks man.
I think they can figure it out, but you also have to acknowledge that they took away a lot of MDA's power by letting him coach as a lame duck coach. It just never works when you do that to a coach and basically emasculate him in the eyes of the team. In essence Dolan's interference extended to MDA's authority cuz he hasn't given him any juice.
In any event I still think that the problems this team has aren't insurmountable. Today the Sixers shot lights out and the Knicks didn't. The Knicks also made way too many mistakes and TO's. I still think they can come together and play better than this and i'd like to see them do it.

There is always someone who is career-ing against the Knicks. Dunleavy, Rondo, LouWil it does not matter.
Did MDA get a crappy hand? Possibly. Unless, this is the hand that he requested.
Either way it does not matter. Whats gonna happen is gonna happen.

There's no question that MDA has been submarined here in NY!!! His entire time here is evidence of that. The record number of players, the type of players added and taken away. The lack of support from upstairs. Still that doesn't matter now. I just want to see the guy finish the season and have a chance to make it work. I still believe MDA can get this team going and I don't believe that the problems are unfixable.
We need our defense back. This team has been way off track since STAT, Melo, Baron and JR were introduced into the mix. Our best defensive unit hasn't had a chance to stay on the floor as much as they did when the team was playing well. I hope we can get Jared back and see that defensive unit again. We need to be able to put a great defensive group out there for key stretches of games.
