Knicks · MDA vs Paul Westphal (page 3)
When the coach is unable to motivate his team, instill any sense of urgency in the players, put lineups on the floor that will help them maintain the consistent flow enough to WIN... and the team looks to have given up on its clueless coach, it's time for the coach to go.

But what about the fast that Westphal was the best PHX coach of all time?

I wasn't considering his tenure in PHX as much as I did for his time in SAC. The Kings got rid of Westphal then, the Knicks need to get rid of D'Antoni now.

Yeah - I was kidding.
That is the pseudo argument used to validate MDA's resume. And, it actually does have some credence but that is not gonna last forever.

No prob. lol... ![]()
I just wanted to clarify, that's all.
We've seen many of those "pseudo-arguments" on behalf of MDA, but when it comes to the record, losing streaks, and lack of any sense of urgency from him, or imparting that to him players, it's hard to debate that it doesn't look like he's lost this team.

Yes. It definitely looks like he has lost this team. He is no better than Westphal, maybe even a worse argument to keep his job. He had a team that Westphal and many coaches would drool over.
And for all the talk about - "the knicks will never win if they keep changing their coach"/"Starphuching", LA had 11 coaches!!! since 1990 (haha - and PJAX actually took up 11 of those years), the Knicks have had 10 and have obviously not had as short of a leash as the Lakers.
Big markets will not wait on a coach not producing regardless of their valid/invalid excuse(s).
Dell Harris might have been a better coach than MDA (if that is at all possible) and won coach of the year too. What happened to him? Fired! That must have sucked for him too since he had the diva - Melo - I mean Kobe.
Only one of those 11 coaches won rings. Guess who? Nuff said.
FACT: Coaches aren't drooling and tripping over their toes to coach CARMELO Anthony.
George Karl has never been happier now that he is free from this DivaCancerFace.
Carmelo Anthony is not a superstar, just an overhyped flashy-balls scorer.
Amar'e is in the geriatric ward.
This is nonsense, that coaches would drool over this roster. COACHES FEEL PITY FOR MIKE D'ANTONI FOR HAVING TO COACH THIS ROSTER.

Was again, you supply no substance to a thread and just rant.
Raise your game my man!
Do you really believe Karl will go further without him? Ha! Funny.
Was Melo not up against the Lakers the Spurs etc. when he played for Denver? Did he under acheive there? Did Denver under achieve?
Kobe's and Melo's Numbers career wise are almost identical. There were many heretics like you screaming the same BS about him. Nobody was harder to coach than Kobe. Then came PJax who dealt with it and dealt with the BS - BUT WON TOO!!
Were the knicks better last year before Melo? Uh no! But you don't take the time to check.
28 gamese prior:
12-16
28 games with Melo:
14-14
Now stop yelling like you have no control of yourself, make sense, make believe you are in a classy debate setting and have respectful dialogue with people. Its beneath you to act like a teenager and keep spamming everyones threads.
Piece Marbs.

Team was about .500 before the trade.
.500 after.
4 games under now.
Give or take, we are really no better.
I understand we were not winning a championship with Mozzy, 2 first round picks, Chander, Felton, and Gallo.
But we don't seem to be on a positive projectory either.
Way too many variables to do an apples to apples comaparison.
Logic says WE SHOULD BE WAY BETTER on paper.
Logic says our coach who has success in PHX and managing the offense on the olympic teams.
So what the Phuch is the problem?????

Good points Nalod.
But sometimes it just does not mesh - see this article, I think its fair and right on point:
http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_/...
Winning in PHX does not mean Winning here - see Paul Westphal comparison. Del Harris. Rudy T.
Melo won in Denver - that does not mean winning here either.
Maybe they should trade Melo. Maybe they should fire MDA. Maybe both - I have no idea. But I do know that Melo will not fit into TS (The System). See the article - again right on point blaming both MDA and Melo for the debacle.
They both have blame, they both are diva's, somebody will pay with their jobs like always.
I would like to see PJax coach this team as structured. And we all know he can coach Diva's!

Where do you get your numbers from, the ugly tree?
You can't just cherry pick numbers.
Oh, you know, DON'T YOU KNOW, if you don't count any losses this year, we're undefeated with Melo.
Nuggies went to Conference Finals one year and lost in First Round for the other 7 years. It won't be difficult to "do better" without Melo.
And if you gotta talk about class, you ain't got it!
