Knicks · What if CP3 was here? (page 1)

soundcrib @ 3/13/2012 2:14 PM
Would Carmelo have such a problem running the MDA offense with his boy running the show?
MarburyAnd1Crossover @ 3/13/2012 2:16 PM
No problem because CP3 has the juice card and Melo would not be a sourpus about deferring to him.

Right now, MDA is trying to make Lin the Top Dog in the offense and this doesn't sit well with the heavy ego of Carmelo Anthony.

Vmart @ 3/13/2012 2:18 PM
I was thinking the same thing. First of SSOL would be in full effect. With Lin it really isn't SSOL it's more half court set than SSOL.
SupremeCommander @ 3/13/2012 2:19 PM
I think the Knicks would've been a lot better off out of the gate. We see how good the Knicks are when they play a transition game. Long term the Knicks are probably better off with Chandler and Lin. But this season they'd be over .500 for certain
MarburyAnd1Crossover @ 3/13/2012 2:20 PM
It comes down to fitting the Superstar to the system. It's not that MDA can't win with a Superstar, it's that some are better suited than others. Chris Paul is like Nash on steroids.

Thanks, man.

And this says a lot about our friend Carmelo.

"Selfless" is not in his vocabulary.

A large part, maybe the biggest part, of being a part of a team is readily sacrificing your own ego for the better of the Whole.

I think dude is insecure, so he has trouble with fitting in with a team.

Even though I didn’t agree with trading all those players for Melo, I supported him since day 1 and trust me I wanted to believe that the guy could change the Knicks for the better, unfortunately his attitude more than anything, make it so difficult to root for him.

nixluva @ 3/13/2012 2:46 PM
This is why even tho they're ancient, the Celtics still win. They've fully checked their egos long ago. KG and Pierce are on another level from STAT and Melo in terms of knowing how to win. They play hard on both ends and they sacrifice for the team. That's really all MDA is trying to do. IF CP3 was here it would be a match made in heaven and we all knew that. It was a wonderful dream, but at least we did find a capable young PG to develop. Lin is just at the beginning of his development as a player. He has so much to learn, but is already at a high level.

Doc Rivers got PPierce to buy in and become unselfish and worked him into the flow.

MDA has not had the same success with Melo

Watch how many ISO's [PUKE - ISO's!!] the Celtics run!!

Aside from all that the Celtics have a much better team than the knicks at every position

it's the right mix of players, team, coach, management. It's not just Doc getting Pierce in line, otherwise Pierce would have been better in the first 3 years Doc was there.

Let there be no doubt: KGhad been the defensive and emotional leader for that team on the court.

Doc didn't suddenly get through to PP

Yes. I do not argue with what you are saying and its why on the last line I said that the Celtics are better at every position.

KG is definitely the key and the driver which we are missing. Its not PP.

If KG replace STAT, how do you think we would be? I would say miles better and everything would change. He would lead, get player buy in, bridge the coach / player issues.

Perhaps Melo would just then be our PaulPierce.

And Rivers definitely gets part of the credit. The coach gets blame for losing and credit for winning regardless if they deserve it or not. Silly how so many on this board are dissing PJax because he always had the best players. Silly - so SILLY. Many coaches have the best players and it does not mean they win.

It depends.

Is Melo out?

This is the thing. STAT can't really talk with authority cuz he doesn't play D and his teammates know it. KG on the other hand plays with intensity every game and that is what a winner does. Last year when STAT 1st got here he was giving max effort, but when Melo got here he backed off, rather than kept up his role as a leader.

Are you serious? Can you stop being a politician for a second? GEEEEZ!

So STAT's issues are kind of Melo's fault by proxy right? SMFH

For you, you need all the blame to be on Melo because that deflects any blame from your beloved MDA. Since it there are two camps: the anti Melo and the anti MDA. Its gotta be one of thems fault so the other gets vindicated.

THEY BOTH ARE SUCKING UP THE JOINT!!!!!

Or, do we want one of those pretty rings (PJAX!!!!)

I'll will take .... hhhhmmm ... door number 2.

You just don't get it. I'm not blaming Melo with that statement. I'm blaming STAT for basically shirking his responsibility! You really need to get a grip! I have CONSTANTLY blamed both STAT and Melo for the failures and if you go and look at my MULTIPLE posts stating this very fact you'd know I have only blamed Melo. I've been consistent in blaming both. Sometimes I may focus a comment on one of them but over and over again I made it clear I blame both.

hahah. Its subliminal at this point with you my friend.

A vote against melo is by proxy, a vote for MDA.

And, we all know (BOY DO WE KNOW) how you feel about him. I did respect you for just a couple of times on what I am sure was a very rough day for you, post a couple of "mda has not done a good job" lines. Don't think it went un-noticed and it did re-invigorate my hope in even the most fallen.
