The hell with D'Antoni's smug ass. The guy's system was based on "I hope some guys get hot!"
Mike Woodson is not the answer either. There is no answer as long as Dolan is the owner.
Woodson will probably be here through next season, then it will be time for the next coach!

Where is everyone tonight boycotting the Knicks? They look GREAT!

Now Amare looks awesome wow if only they made the coaching change sooner!

I called this. They would fire MDA, team will give some good spurt of energy, win a few games, but over the long-run they will be mediocre.
This game was to be expected.
MarburyAnd1Crossover@ 3/14/2012 8:13 PM
Guys always show up for new coach, for a short while, just because of the novelty.
Don't take too much from this game.

Here in NY MDA was trying to get the team to play a TEAM oriented style of BB. The lack of D was more a function of the type of players we had. If you bring in defensive players you're gonna get some better defense. MDA made the Shump pick and he was the one calling for Jared to be brought back. MDA is not averse to defense the way it's often reported. If your 2 stars are horrid defenders and sometime rebounders you'll have problems. I thought the team was making small progress and that if Jared came back that could give the team the defensive boost they've been missing. I hope they will still play hard on D, despite losing MDA, whom a lot of the players liked.
Don't waste your time with these guys. Their 15 minutes will be up soon. I am happy he was able to leave on his own terms rather than getting dumped by dole-ass later. Unless we get PJax we are toast.
Yeah it would really suck if Mike Woodson was successful and the team came together and won.

Seriously. I bet if we lost, we'd get the 'See, it wasn't the coach it was the players Melo." Since we won, its "dont take too much from this game..."

Fan base is still divided, fresh off their loss of their fallen hero. It'll take a home at home sweep with Indy to fully win them over to the dark side

Feel free to get your digs in guys. I stand by what I said. There's a reason Woodson didn't have a head coaching job and we hired him as an assistant coach.
There are not many coaches out there that can make this work. Y'all want to watch some idiot flailing his arms and yelling at the players from the sidelines because that fits your prescribed coaching stereotype. That's cool. And when that experiment meets its eventual conclusion you'll be asking for him to be fired. What else is new?

If making it work means doing better than pringles then even you can coach this team.

Fair enough bro. I'm not saying Woodson is going to be the coach. We'll have to see if the team continues to rally behind him and see what they can do in the playoffs. I'm just not a fan of people jumping to conclusions, analyzing body language and bashing everyone like Melo & Dolan when they want to win just as much as we do and not even giving Woodson a chance. It's been obvious over the years that Dantoni would not adapt to his players. He would continue coaching what he knows whether the front office got him his players or not. Ending it sooner rather than later benefited both sides. This team is stacked and should not be in 9th place
SupremeCommander@ 3/15/2012 10:48 AM
I'm actually pretty stoked this went down the way it did. D'Antoni needed to go. They let him go with his head held high. The Knicks can just go ball. Let's go Knicks
