was he really yelling at lin to pass the ball to melo? i didn't catch that. i did see him tear landry a new one though.
HE IS A POINT GUARD!! DOUBLE TEAMED PASS THE BALL!! IT'S SIMPLE!!
he yelled at him to pass the ball to melo because that was the right basketball play. and lin over-dribbling and not passing almost led to turnovers on two straight possessions. and it wasn't yelling like admonishing, it was more like... uh... what's the word? oh yeah, COACHING.
have you guys seen popovich scream at tony parker over the years? that's what coaches do - yell at their point guards.
i love lin, but the idea that he doesn't need some coaching is wrong. he can be a great point guard, right now he is a very very good young player who has some growing to do.
it seems like every poster complaining about melo or woodson right now has joined the board 2/10/2012 or later. that's just an observation.
Do you think Mike Woodson visits this forum?
Why cant Lin get coached the same as everyone. Woodson pulled Melo when he started going iso, he yked at Lin when he tried to dribble too much this is not an issue with Woodson. Melo was open when Lin was getting triple outside the 3 pt arc.

I don't mind Woodson yelling at anyone. I don't care if Woodson turned around and yelled at a fan, or an announcer. I don't care if he yelled at the towel bowl. I just don't want him directing traffics on the court and yelling for Lin to pass the ball to Melo. If Melo is open, Lin can pass it to him but don't start yelling for Lin to pass the ball to MELO out of nowhere. Lin should be able to find an open man by himself without Woodson yelling at him from behind. Lin is a PG, let him dribble and figure it out himself. Woodson should have been hit with a "T" for yelling at Lin.
I'm sick of synico.. Anyone else?

Man, that's crazy. It says a lot about what kind of coach Coach Wood is.
Lin is probly the type of guy you can yell at and its fine
loweyecue wrote:Lin played great in Q4 and won the game for us. Woody needs a chill pill.
He was yalling at Lin because on theta particular play, Melo was open and Lin was doing his Nash-Impression was was over dribbling and eventually turned it over. Calling Linoout for that play was well deserved, but like I said it was 1 play, no biggie. Lin played well overall.

Who is "synico"?
YIKES, a thread complaining about the coach yelling at a player in the heat of a game.
GTFO, the romper room board is down the hall.

Thread is comedy. D'Antoni is gone. Lin's freelancing days are over. He just needs to come down the court and run the dam plays.
His job is simple. Get the ball to Amare and Melo and get out of the way.

thankfully it's more complicated than that - he's learning to pick his spots within the offense. learning the times when it's best to call his own number and when it's time to get melo or stat or tyson involved.
that's what the good and great point guards do. that's what chris paul does, etc.
He yelled for him to pass the ball to Melo on a specific play. First it was a pick and roll which Lin got trapped so he dribbled away to get away from the trap. Then the defender ran back to Melo so Melo went into position for the post up. Lin didn't like the angle I'm guessing so he tried to beat his man to create separation and an better angle for the pass. But in the end those 2 plays never materialized.

Knicks are trying to win NOW not wait for Lin to possibly develop. In the mean time Lin needs to stick to the script. Glad Woodson got in his ear.
Decision making comes with experience and right now Woodson has him on a short leash.

Lin played within the system last night. He's also one of the big reasons Indiana didn't come back in the 4th. Woodson was yelling at him about two specific plays, not his overall play.
It's good to yell at him and get him under control - may cut down on the turnovers, which would be nice.
19pts 7reb 6ast 1stl 1blk 2to - that's a damn good game for a rookie point guard during a playoffs level intensity road game.
