thankfully it's more complicated than that - he's learning to pick his spots within the offense. learning the times when it's best to call his own number and when it's time to get melo or stat or tyson involved.
that's what the good and great point guards do. that's what chris paul does, etc.
Knicks are trying to win NOW not wait for Lin to possibly develop. In the mean time Lin needs to stick to the script. Glad Woodson got in his ear.
Decision making comes with experience and right now Woodson has him on a short leash.
Lin played within the system last night. He's also one of the big reasons Indiana didn't come back in the 4th. Woodson was yelling at him about two specific plays, not his overall play.
It's good to yell at him and get him under control - may cut down on the turnovers, which would be nice.
19pts 7reb 6ast 1stl 1blk 2to - that's a damn good game for a rookie point guard during a playoffs level intensity road game.
Syniko wrote:If Woodson keeps harping on and on about Lin whether he plays well or not, Lin is going to start demanding/looking for a trade in the off-season. You also have Screaming A. Smith yelling at Lin too over the airwaves. Seems like Lin can't catch a break anywhere. Lin is giving Knicks their money's worth and then some. You see, this is what I am afraid of. I know he's a restricted free agent but still... Coach Woodson needs to take a step back and examine the cost of Lin. Yelling for him to pass the ball to Melo... That's just absurd. Just let Lin play basketball. When Lin is hot, you get out of his way. I love it that Lin completely ignored Woodson's demand and just went four possessions without passing the ball to Melo. LOL. I think the ghost of MDA was standing mid-court like a hologram of Obi Wan Kenobi telling Lin to "USE THE FORCE"
Woodson, is okay, and he has to realize that the dynamics in the NBA have changed. Now in the NBA, You need a solid pg play, and Lin plays with his head up majority of the time. which is a skill that isn't easily taught. Only a few pg in the league play that way. If push came to shove, Dolan will choose Lin over Woodson any day as long as he can produce because Lin is merchandising cash cow.
I still believe that this team is in the top three in talent. If they can bring it together in time, this team can be a superior force to reckon with.
I love that Lin isn't being coddled and told when he isn't making the right decisions. Lin sat early one game because of too many TOs and came back the next game and played smarter. It shows that he's no shrinking violet and can handle being sat and can handle getting yelled at by Woodson. If Lin couldn't then he wouldn't be the right man for the job.

I don't know if you say stuff like that. Synico is going to damn a trade, I was thinking the LakersForever board would be a good spot, but they have had about 30 jackass sign in the last month since the Dwight Howard trade didn't go down............(gag)

I'm guessing since Woodson is black, Syniko is referring to Woodson's mouth.
LOL! I said 'UP' now correlate that with 'Chocolate Tunnel' and you get the picture.
um, a little racist?!
i think syniko was trying to be funny and mimic the word ass. Stupid choice of words.
