Wow. Mike Woodson says there is a "strong possibility" Tyson Chandler doesn't play. I find that hard to believe

1m Marc Berman ‏ @NYPost_Berman
Woodson mentions unsure Tyson will play.

@HowardBeckNYT: Tyson Chandler (flu-like symptoms) and Toney Douglas (virus) did not practice.

shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

matt @ 4/27/2012 4:00 PM
I hate TD. Chandler will still probably play though
FoeDiddy @ 4/27/2012 4:02 PM
Damn...I'm telling you keep that guy away from the team..he's a bum and contagious.
gunsnewing @ 4/27/2012 4:03 PM
Did baron have the flu. Frickin wonderful. He will pull a jordan and play. He jas until 3:37pm to feel better
smackeddog @ 4/27/2012 4:05 PM
Oh for f***s sake!
AlexanderFuSheng @ 4/27/2012 4:08 PM
A cold will keep Tyson from playing.

OK.

crzymdups @ 4/27/2012 4:18 PM

He's gonna be slow and lethargic even if he does play. This is shitty luck. Anyone know when he came down with it? It's probably going to take a minimum of a week for him to get back to normal.

MJ used to BEAST in the playoffs with the flu. Get with the program, Tyson! Flu don't mean diddly to a champion.

Plus, try some Theraflu maybe?

RoyBatty @ 4/27/2012 5:03 PM
Yeah, didn't BD have this earlier? If they're all carriers now, Heat get it in time for Game 3....

I meant Tamiflu...the prescription stuff.

Dude is likely in an oxygen chamber with intravenous space age sci-fi shit we never heard about and will be golden in a few hours.
nyvector16 @ 4/27/2012 5:42 PM
If all else fails, a damp towel of Vinegar behind the neck before going to sleep and he will be fine in the morning. Works every time.. smells horrible though.
gunsnewing @ 4/27/2012 5:59 PM
He might be capable of playing but I think the bigger concern is spreading it to his teammates
Vmart @ 4/27/2012 7:56 PM
Someone vit B12 his azz.
ramtour420 @ 4/27/2012 8:01 PM
He should play and hug every Heat player. And play super close D, breathe on them, sneeze on them, make sure they all get it by game 2-3 ! Might as well use everything to gain an edge, lol

Sit him in street clothes behind the Heat bench or gave him drink out of the Heat Gatorade cooler and backwash.

All kidding aside, I hope he is healthy, we are going to need him.

That stuff takes a day or two off of a week long illness. I hope they have something more effective to get him out there.

Thread of the week even for a terrible news like this one. Though I highly doubt he misses Game 1 because of a flu with little less than a day to go. He has time to rest and feel better enough to play.

But love all the friendly details Ty should have with the Heat. I think he should simply ask the 2 and a half stars to the movies and offer them of his popcorn. That should seal the deal.

smackeddog @ 4/28/2012 4:14 AM
If it's the same bug BD had, then the recovery time scale is maybe 5 days. BD was ill but played (and had an awful game) vs Boston on the 17th, missed the game on the 18th, and the game on the 20th. He then returned on the 22nd and had his best game of the season.

According to the reports Tyson was ill and in bed all day Thursday, he hasn't eaten much and is feverish. Not good.
