Knicks · Jordan Hill has become a huge part of the Lakers success and has recorded three double-doubles in six games.Didn't we draft him? (page 3)

I'd bring him back for the LLE. Not like he is totally useless.

Just remember Kwame Brown got 1 yr at 7 million. That puts things in perspective.

But this guy was high draft pick, played ahead of Jeffries in Houston () AND he choked his girlfriend - Surely he is worth an extra $3M just for that? Makes sense he ends up on the same team as Meta World Peace.

If you had been here longer you would have seen people defend Vick as well. Not surprising at all, just sad.

I was the first to post the JHill story - see NBA game thread. I am against all violence against women (unless they have it coming - kidding! )

Jordan Hill was mishandled while he was here and undervalued to the point where he the Knicks gave up a top 5 draft pick with him to move Jeffries. He was not buried on the bench and not developed by his coach because he anticipated that he was going to commit domestic violence 3 years later. Hill choking his girlfriend is totally wrong. D'Antoni not playing Hill as the 7th pick in the draft on that team that year was also totally wrong. I don't think anyone is pining away for Jordan Hill. I do think people are pissed at how he was handled and devalued while he was here. Personally that is my position.

i was VEHEMENTLY against drafting hill. i believe myself and bip were the two most outspoken. the kid didn't have game in college, he played in a weak pac10 and his numbers were very soft. i didn't think ANY of his game would translate.

That might be true. They wanted Rubio, Curry or Flynn but they got screwed and panicked. But watch him in tonights game, he looks much much better.

You're right. He was considered a project. Its pretty puzzling why he couldn't get minutes on a 29 win team that wasn't competing for the playoffs and didn't have a pick.

Because he was probably dogging it and blowing up plays - like Melo and Kobe.

he looks better because he's always on the court with either pau or bynum and he doesn't need to worry about scoring. he has no offensive game, so he can just focus on getting rebounds and playing defense.

9th pick is way to high for mikki moore.

This is why I don't believe in giving up on people. Treasure them, give them confidence, train them, develop them. Don't just trade someone just because they had a bad game or a bad season or injured. You just never know. Worst than can happen is that you helped someone. The best that can happen? Give your team a championship.

hill should not have picked 8th under any circumstance.

That was an organizational mistake just as not playing him at all on a 29 win team and devaluing him to the point of having to package him with a top 5 protected draft pick to ship Jeffries out. Also, there was speculation D'Antoni didn't want Jennings because of maturity and character issues.
NUPE @ 5/8/2012 10:16 PM
How about people cry about Jordan Hill if and when he actually accomplishes something. He has had like 3 decent games all year (including the playoffs), sucked in NY and sucked in Hou. This thread is absurd. You'd think Hill was averaging a double double. SMH!
Nalod @ 5/9/2012 12:08 AM
Maybe Jordan Hill was a disappointment in NY and we made a trade for cap space thinking "its jordan hill" and sometimes shit happens.

If his improvement is anything it in a way justifies the draft pick.

How was he mishandled? His crap play on a lousy team should be continued and supported by furthering to disrupt the progress of others and continue to get minutes even if out of shape?

He comes in unprepared and out of shape and we don't put any of this on him?

Teams miscue players all the time. Get over it.

BigDaddyG @ 5/9/2012 1:22 AM
Jordan Hill didn't suck in Houston. He was quality bench player on a team loaded with power forwards. Hill's biggest crime is that he was drafted ahead of guys like Brandon Jenning and Ty Lawson—guys who could've helped this team. Jordan Hill doesn't need to be trashed to justify the trade. To be honest, I never even looked back at the trade until this thread popped up. Could we use a guy like Hill on the bench? Sure. Is his loss franchise altering? Heck no. What he help us in the Miami series? Unless he's learned how to dribble the ball under pressure and make plays running the pick and roll, then the answer is no.
