Awesome. I think RonRon posted that as well.
Is Diaw still in this league?

Yeah, but slowly eating his way out.

My guess is he gets a championship this year if they get past OKC.

yup, he's one series away from the finals so he should know what he's talking about...
Funny cuz if it wasn't for MDA Diaw might already have been out of the league. What a way to be loyal to a guy that put you on the map and got you paid. It also still doesn't wipe away the fact that Pop shifted what he was doing starting last year and it boosted his teams effectiveness. The basic principles worked for MDA and they're working for Pop and the Spurs. His personal interpretation on it's effectiveness is meaningless, because he's once again in a winning spot playing in a similar style that help put him on the map. He should be much more graceful considering that he's found his best success playing in this style.

Totally agree, Boris Diaw was considered a bust in Atlanta before he was shipped to Phoenix where he flourished under MDA.

"Get" rather than "earn" is a good choice of words.
Ehh, it's in poor taste to rip somebody on Twitter, so not sure why Diaw went there. I mean he's right about D'Antoni and Popovich accountability and philosophy wise, but classless to do it in the public eye.
Is he specifically ripping MDA here? He doesn't mention MDA and he's had several coaches between his time with MDA and Popovich.

Yes. Reporter asked him the main difference between Popovich's and D'Antoni's SSOL systems, and referred to the former basically preaching a more disciplined and practical approach, where as the looser Suns system really was chuck the ball up within 7 seconds before the defense can get set no matter if it's a 2pter, 3pter, 4pter etc...
Maybe the man was injecting humor?
SSOL was not used here very much. Knicks slowed it down as we did not have the greyhounds to run it.
The "Felton" era it was used more than any other.
I liked the crazy ball movement myself.
So the Haters are trying take away that the Spurs success is not really MDA's success because Pop does not run it verbatim.
Coincidence that Pop got Diaw and is starting him? The guy was literally taking up space on the bench for the epic failure Bobcats and now he is starting on an undefeated playoff run team.

What Diaw and others are forgetting is the presence of Tim Duncan and actual real Post up player that has to get touches in the halfcourt to be effective. That's why they slow it down just a touch when he's in there. It can't be as fast as the Suns who actually played without a Center and didn't want to get into a halfcourt battle with teams that were usually much bigger. MDA did the same thing when he had Shaq in there. You try to run and if that isn't there you slow it down into your halfcourt set. With no Post man in there you can run faster and they do.

I guess Diaw doesn't know what he's talking about having played for both.

That may well be the case. He may not have any clue about true shooting percentage or indeed what are high quality shots. In fact, his own FG% and TS% would suggest that that is the case.

Nah, an NBA player that's played in the NBA 10 years for multiple coaches with tons of playoff experience doesn't know anything about playing in different systems. Not at all, we'll just listen to the talking heads instead, they must know better.

I questioned his knowledge of shot selection, not his amount of experience.
Besides Diaw still is on a team with a different make up than when he played Center for MDA! Just think about how small that team was if that was the case and how fast they had to play to make up for that and get to the WCF's. It kills me how people still don't give MDA credit for that. MDA didn't luck into Tim Duncan but he did find a way to get the most out of his small team.
