Knicks · Hahahahahaha Nets are finished (page 4)

I find great humor in the Nyets "blueprint of success" slogan

Trade Amar'e to the Nets

You know the Nets have a legitimate shot at winning the lottery next year once deron leaves and they are left with only gwallace!

Gerald Wallace has a player option same as Deron Williams, so he might leave also and they'd be left with nothing.

The Nets are waiting on Gerald Wallace to decide whether he will opt in (and extend his contract) or opt out (and become an unrestricted free agent). Wallace has until midnight Wednesday to decide, said a league source. Unlike most NBA players' deals, Wallace's contract ends 15 days before the Draft. NetsDaily

Assuming Deron Williams will opt out, they can have about a lot of money to rebuild in FA.
They really are not done, if they spend their $ wisely, they can have a brighter future than the Knicks.

Brooklyn Nets Roster
------------------------

Only 4 roster spots are official so far,

Marshon Brooks
Anthony Morrow
Jordan Williams
Johan Petro
------------------------------
for about 10m combined salary,

All these players here have can opt out or have a team option
===============================================================

Brook Lopez - Qualifying Offer
Jordan Farmer
Damion James

Deron Williams
Gerald Wallace

Target players
====================
Dragic
Nash
Kidd
Miller

Harden
Oj Mayo
Eric Gordon
Terry
Ray Allen

Ilyasova
JR Smith
Nick Young
Delfino

Ibaka
Kevin Garnet
Humphries

Chris Kaman
Dalembert
Hibbert
McGee

AK47
Kenyon Martin
Camby

Heck, if they sign Dragic/Nash and some key players, it would be funny if Dantoni goes to Brooklyn, the way the Nets seem to like to go after our leftovers....

So why exactly did billy king give up the 6th pick to get gerald wallace. Makes no sense to me as hard as I try

gunsnewing wrote:So why exactly did billy king give up the 6th pick to get gerald wallace. Makes no sense to me as hard as I try

only reason I can think of is that they didn't think he would opt out of his contract and use him with a future package for Dwight Howard or another "super star"

Gerald Wallace > 6th pick in this draft

No different than Boston trading the 5th pick for Ray Allen. Ray Allen > Jeff Green.

Exactly how is Harden a target? Who are we trading? Or are we going to throw the full LLEWELYN at him?

that post is for is for the Brooklyn Nets, Ibaka and Harden are both RFA once the summer hits for next season.

As for the Knicks, I guess an offer of Tyson Chandler/Iman Shumpert for Kendrick Perkins Harden and their pick?

No way. Ray Allen was an unreplaceable part of a championship team. If a little luck bounces your way, you can get a player as good as Wallace for less than the full MLE.

Jay-Z to open '40/40 Club' at Barclays
By ESPN NewYork.com

From a team press release:

JAY-Zs The 40/40 Club will open its new location in Brooklyns Barclays Center, the new sports and entertainment venue and home to the Brooklyn Nets. The $1 billion arena will house the 9,000 square-foot restaurant slated to debut on the arenas opening night when JAY-Z performs in concert on Sept. 28, 2012.

There is no better home for another 40/40 Club location than the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, stated JAY-Z. The 40/40 Club has revolutionized restaurants in a way I anticipate Barclays Center to transform the arena watching experience.

Located on the Barclays Brownstone Suite Level, The 40/40 Club will feature key materials and design concepts from its newly renovated New York City flagship location, including the custom illuminated amber resin bar top. The design for the space is by SHoP Architects with consultation from designer Jeffrey Beers to ensure a consistent look and feel with the flagship venue. The new location in Barclays Center will feature 36 TVs, including eight 80 TVs on the outside of the bar soffit, and will also offer great views of the basketball court.

The 40/40 Club at Barclays Center will provide a dynamic environment to complement the experience of attending Brooklyn Nets games and other select events, said Barclays Center and Brooklyn Nets CEO Brett Yormark. The 40/40 Club will deliver the best in service and cuisine, while creating a vibe fitting for such a spectacularly designed venue.

Brooklyn Nets All Access season ticket holders will be offered first access to reservations.

Well, at least you can shoot pool and play Pacman instead of watch the Nets lose if it's anything like the main 40/40 club.

that would make sense if Wallace was under contract but the trade was actually

a few months of Gerald Wallace vs. 6th pick in the draft. Not that easy of a decision.

If Nets just chose to rebuild through draft they would have had a core of:

Lopez, Favors, Humphries, picks

This was an obscene deal. Trading such a high value asset for essentially a free agent who you could've signed with cap space. It's not like they were in the hunt when the traded for him. You're going to very likely get a nice nice player at 6 and just think of other things you can do. And right now G Wallace is NOT even a NET?

It was a move to lure D-Howard. Whether or not it was part of a successful scheme is TBD.

Agree. Billy King is turning out to be the anti Rod Thorn.

Can the Nets sign and trade Deron?

They have less than $20 mil in guaranteed salary. Stars get a chance to play in the biggest burrough of the biggest city in the nation. The Gerald Wallace move was bone-headed but the team has an excellent opportunity right now. They are essentially where we were two summers ago.

Except 2 summers ago was possibly the greatest free agent class in history. This summer they have a shot at Deron and Dwigth via trade, but they lost out on a lottery pick. If they can land those 2 guys and resign Gerald Wallace and somehow keep Humphries they're a top team in the East.

In many ways, it's better to be in that position now. I think there are more very good FAs now than in 2010. In 2010 it was Lebron-Wade or nothing. Here there are lots of excellent, undervalued players that you can probably get for less than the max. We obviously weren't in a position to get Lebron/Wade anyway and we too had lost a lot of draft picks. I'm not saying they're in the best spot in the league obviously but they have a great opportunity.

Funny how no one is screaming, they have no pieces to trade for Howard, yet everyone was saying we had no pieces to trade for melo..they gave away there picks in the d will trade..and brook lopez is nothing more then soft ass bigman
