Knicks · And who said the Nets are in trouble. You better look again. If they get Howard they'll be the team to watch in NY. (page 2)

What many of you are missing is Dwight is done in orlando, so its about getting the most value.

THey are screwed either way.

Doing a deal with Bynum is problematic cuz he is immature bone head with injury problems and will command a max deal.

The Nets deal has many smaller pieces and they can work with that. Im not sure about TurkeyGlue.

Dwight could just play out the contract and go free agent.

I could see him sitting out half the season and letting his back "heal".

ORlando has a problem. They need to move the dumbass.

I agree. I'd rather have many good, small pieces than build a team around Andrew Bynum.

Good luck ever winning a championship with that philosophy.

Rough day? Nice small pieces are used to get the right star. Good luck ever winning a championship with Dolan's philosophy.

Nice small pieces sounds like a Layden team.

There is a time and a place for that. Orlando has had an empty run and now its time to reboot the franchise.

THey do need to fill a new arena but after the years of failed starphuch pairings with Dwight at a very very high cost their time has passed them FOR NOW.

Do they have enough now to bring in Bynum and be a top 4 team next season? IF so, will they draw well with Bynum?

ITs not just championships its about hope and a star player that sells tickets.

New coach, New GM they really have to reboot the franchise. You could taket Nets Pieces and build from that. Players can be traded and packages with other assets can get you moving forward.

y2zipper @ 7/5/2012 1:51 PM
Brooklyn has no chance at Dwight now. They have about 18 million to play with for Humphries and Brook Lopez, but the Nets offered that package last year and New Jersey doesn't want it. Magic have leverage now because Brooklyn can't sign him outright.

Well, it is hot outside.

Hey, the Knicks gathered some nice small pieces. They were on a pace to be a 42-40 team and it was going to be time to pay those guys or trade them for a star. Knicks traded them for a star. You can argue it wasn't the right star or the right fit with Amar'e and I might agree with the latter.

But they have a good team that can win 50+ games for the next 2-3 years. Maybe Lin and Shump improve and the team takes a jump. If not, blow it all up in three years and start again. That's the way this goes. Knicks have a good team for a good 2-3 year window. Let's see what they can do. There's really not much point in bemoaning the Melo trade at this point.

gunsnewing @ 7/5/2012 2:11 PM
Only way nets get dwight is if the european they signed to the mle plays well in season. Maybe
Mray20 @ 7/5/2012 2:13 PM
Orlando is not taking back Gerald Wallace at 40 million over 4 years that defeats the purpose of trying to rid themselves of Hedo's contract

31 Million

Howard 19.54 million Turkoglu 11.82 million

31 million

They just gave up 5 guys to get 1, and there willing to give up 4 more guys to get 2.

meaning you just gave up 9 guys to get 3, you'll be over the cap for the next 4 yrs, with nothing more the vet minium contracts. You seen LJ suffer from back issues that turned him into a perimeter player(which he became pretty good at)once he became a knick.

Howard bearly has post up moves and i don't ever see him developing a jumper.

Funny how ppl say the nets will be better then the knicks, chandler shut down howard completely in head to head matchups, deron and lin were 1 and 1 against each other, and I know shump can handle he's own against JJ, and although wallace is a pretty good defnder, he could on wish he could stop melo.

Nalod @ 7/5/2012 2:51 PM
Nets can do it with Bropez, Hump, and pieces.

Not saying it fits with Orlando's objectives.

Choices are:

Lakers for Bynum straight up (looks to be the favorite choice of Orlando)

ATL for Horford and pieces (Dwight wanna play in ATL?)

Nets (Dwights first choice).

Howard can play it out and perhaps force Orlando into a sign and trade with Nets, or do it now.

Not sure what Mavs can offer in trade this season.

No doubt Mavs should have resigned Tyson.

Knicks could be an outside shot with Tyson/Amare for Turkalu and Dwight but thats just what is available, not what I think.

NOt going to waste any more brain power on it.

gunsnewing @ 7/5/2012 2:52 PM
Nets convince the european to take the LLE not MLE keeping them under the $74 lux tax giving them a better chance at Dwight
