The Heat is signing everyone they want to. Don't be suprise if Camby goes to the Heat. It don't take a blind man to see that the Heat keep adding on pieces and its mainly because of the cut Wade, LeBron and Bosh took. They really wanted to play together and they new if all got max pay they could not build this team. Well Melo you got your money and probably when your contract is up you will be joining the Heat. What they are building in Miami is a Dynesty and may be bigger than the Jordan Bulls. We have no chance to compete and that's what piss me off. Money Greed. If Melo wanted to play with his boy during the wedding toast he should have thought how could he do it if him and Amare took all the money. Now we are stuck. So far we did nothing to make us really better for next season if we make the playoffs. Wr are stuck and fuxxked. I hate this system and can't wait for someone with big bucks to come in and start an ABA that have a baseball league type of system. the NBA system is set up to block a team like the Knicks and they keep rewarding teams who gut thier roster in order to get high first round picks. I said it before and I'll say it again we have too many teams in the NBA

He did what is best for him and as fans, we blame him.
Lebron and Wade are is in a different category as Melo, aside form being top DEFENDERS at their position, their versatility and abilities to handle the ball/penetrate/ and post up.
Amare is best suited to play majority of minutes at Center, while he will be a poor defender in that position.
Like Fields, Amare needs a good PG, as well as shooters to space the floor, ball movement, and movement off the ball.
He is what he is, a poor defender, and not as effective unless he is the alpha dog.
Trapped between Melo and Tyson Chandler, he just doesn't fit anymore.
He misses athletic G/Fs in Felton, Gallo, and Wilson Chandler and their "all round games"

Melo and Amare, both want the team/players to play around their strength and abilities.
But neither are good facilitators and ball handlers.
In the right system with the right players, they each can be considered "All Stars" but when are together, they just do not fit well.
Defensively, Amare's inability to compliment Chandler as a defensive anchor of the team really hurts, in addition to his poor rebounding, defensive fundamentals, and "box out"
Offensively, he is unable to spread the floor like stretch PF can, to allow Chandler to go 1v1 for rebounding position, and get good looks cutting.

if melo could put together a mvp type season and amare can play like he did in 2010/2011 then tehre is no reason why we cant get at least to the ECF. Im a realists i know there is not much of a chance we will beat the heat even if we add camby but i think we could give the heat trouble at least

Ha! Exaggerate much? So far they've signed one FA- Ray Allen! How's that everyone?! Last year they signed eddy curry and ronny turiaf.

The thing that will piss me off is if they get an injury exception for Mike Miller 2 sign Camby. Thank god the new CBA only allows 1 year deals . The old 1 u could sign a guy for 5 then the injured guy would return the next year

Camby gonna be sign within the next week or so, no way Miami gets an injury exception that quick especially after Mike Miller just played the last game he was in.

Funny, Melo should have waited when he was an extend and trade, but Amare is ok for taking a max as a free agent?

Amare is the third highest paid plaer in the league.

Battier too.

Amare is the third highest paid plaer in the league.

Difference was we signed Amare and didn't trade a bunch of assets for him.
Amare's position is PF/C where he thrives on offense.
But after Melo + Tyson, Amare loses his ability to be the player once nominated for MVP.

We were better off waiting for Deron or a more versatile player that complimented and improves the team.
Deron can play PG and SG, and is a much better defender than he gets credit for.

Battier too.

They got him because they gave him too many years- also that was the last full MLE they'll have from now on. I still don't think Battier on the Full MLE and Ray Allen on the MMLE constitutes everyone. We might end up with Camby and Kidd, how's that any different?

The thread topic is about Melo taking less money thus hindering the team to add better players, not the assets given up in a trade.

All I pointed out is who they signed which was more than what you mentioned.
RonRon @ 7/8/2012 6:09 PM
Battier got the same deal Ray Allen got, its the 3m mini MLE

Melo should have waited satisfies his needs or the fans?

Melo wasn't going to FA without a deal, especially with an uncertain cba, and this is beating a dead horse.

CAMBY cancels HEAT trip/visit ..' After R.Allen signing'
http://tracking.si.com/2012/07/07/marcus...Camby already cancelled/postone HEAT visit & no word that his peeps/agent will reschedule a Camby visit which media writes HEAT
option is to seek the same S/T with Rockets, by Heat sending C/PF Anthony, Cole and another piece or draft pick to Hous.

Whether Rockets blowing smoke or not their source already said Rockets more interested in S/T with Knicks offer and players
involved coming off the books.

Nalod agree's that Melo did what was best for him, I think.
But we made a horrible decision to trade for Melo, with all do respect, than just signing a FA with the cap space in the summer.
Melo did not fit a "need" that many suggest, while not paying the right price....
We can only blame ourselves or Dolan, is it our KNicks or his?

Melo was a Net or a Knick. He wasn't going to become a free agent with the lockout and new cba pending. He wasn't going to be a free agent in December of 2011 after the cba was worked out. He would have been a net.

so let it be, HE DID NOT FILL A NEED. Without Melo, we probably would have been in Cp3/Deron sweepstakes, possible DH as well.

If ifs and buts ... This is getting old. I hated the Melo trade and was outspoken about it. However, without it the Knicks don't have Tyson, Lin doesn't get signed or get run, I think Kidd is in play and probably doesn't sign here, JR probably isn't a Knick, the Rockets probably have a lottery pick this year, etc. I don't know that the Knicks had a shot at Deron. I read somewhere that Billy King had an inside track on that move but I don't remember the details and I could be wrong.

there aint going to be no more dynasties
especially in nba

when Kobe won their 1st (post shaq) as mvp with Gasol
all thought LA dynasty

Same with Big 3 Celtics a nba title and now Big 3 is Medium-2

I'm in minority opinion but all this Heat smoke seems unfair
but I aint buying dynasties and bunch of guys getting together
means overwhelming dominance for long time with titles

No no no no no
aint happening
