exactly, totally true. Dude was the most idiotic player I have seen in years. Nice guy but, dumber than a bag of bricks and I am so glad we moved him.

If he makes a comeback it might be a bigger story then Lin
Douglasanity
Woodson gave him a last chance before the Playoff's started. 1st play, he runs down court right past an open Anthony only to chuck up a bad shot. 2nd play, he runs around in circles ignoring everyone for nearly 15seconds of the shot clock before chucking up another bad shot. Dude was know for dribbling aimlessly until the clock was low then he would pass it to someone like Jeffries.
Dude acted like he was the 1st option always ignoring both Stat and Melo on the floor. Those are the actions of a dumbass player
I was always for trading Toney. After his defense on Rondo during the 2010-2011 playoffs it was evident that he could not do the things we needed him to do. Guard his position! His defensive strength was playing the passing lanes but that is not enough. When his offense faded, he faded.
All that said, the sympathetic person I am, was hoping (if we kept him) he would regain his offensive strengths and improve on the defensive end.
I will keep track of his play next season and hope that he is in the rotation for Houston.

You'll see those same people asking why we gave Moz away too.
[Everyone thinking: Moz who?]
TD had a good first 2 seasons. He just could make the next step last season. There was some reference that he was having a bit of personal issues. Also his shoulder is not 100%.
All things considered the change of scenery might help him. I wish him the best. His failure in NY was not for the lack of trying.

guy played more the a 100 games for the knicks and recorded just 1 double digit assist game, thats as many as melo had in just 1 season..
Some times i thought he played with a helmet, cause he has zero periphial..
The shoulder injury is really his on fault, running into picks like a brick wall..Dude has tunnel vision
Plus for all that "speed" he had, he hardly ever showed it. He had NO first step whatsoever. He constantly got cut off by opposing defenders.

Not me. I was furious at Dantoni for starting Ron frickin Turiaf over Mozgov for so long. Mozgov is a very serviceable bigman. TD is garbage. Denver stealing Mozgov from the Knicks last minute knowing Dolan was desperate was a real kick in the balls. We were forced to go with an injured Turiaf at center and finished with a sub .500 record

He acted like he was the #1 option on the team. Dude would dribble down court, ignoring Amare and Melo, run around in a few circles then chuck up a dumb ass shot. Why they picked up his option I will never know. As it is, I believe we are still paying his salary. Essentially paying him to go away
Picking up his option was the one blimp on Grunwalds record

Even though he used him as a trade chip to get Camby?
Knicks wouldn't have had the expiring deals necessary to get Camby without Toney.
And for that, Toney, I salute you.
But he's a good kid and I wish him the best in Houston. Hopefully he can find his game again.

True...TD's legacy as a bball player could be that he was the reason we have Marcus Camby and a possible chip. Not a bad footnote in NBA history.
yeah, he really could be a steal.
With our luck, he will lead the league in 3pointers made, regain his confidence and his shot, but probably never be a faciltator
Playing in New York is really tough, I don't think TD could handle that pressure...

I dont recall that he was ever labeled as a pure PG. He was always a score first guard even in college, so that is unfair, imo.
As for running into guys to fight over picks, I see that as someone who is playing hard to try and help his team. Maybe you can say his game intelligence is low due to that and his low assist totals.

Yes Moz has proven he was certainly the key to that year's team. Look at the difference he's made at the end of Denver's bench. They stole a real gamechanger for sure.
Trade Hate Koolaid sure lasts a long time, huh?

I've thought of that before its possible. Maybe the Knicks match Fields just to have another contract to trade < my biggest fear

His contract allowed us to get Camby

I would rather have a lazy smart player then a hard working dumb player..
