I'm sorry, I know there are topics about this. But this team, this fanbase has HUNGERED for a young talent for YEARS. We have begged and pleaded and prayed for a young bluechip prospect, often at point guard. We FINALLY get one. We FINALLY have one. And we're going to let him go? Because of money? Because of Melo? Because another team offered him essentially a max deal? Doesn't the max deal mean he's worth keeping??!?!?!? If another team is willing to pay your guy a max contract - THAT MEANS HE IS GOOD. VERY GOOD.
If the Knicks let Lin go... it might be the final straw for me as a fan.
We need to think of some way to let MSG know we want to keep him.
How can we possibly let this kid go?
If he goes, I don't think I'll ever be able to root for Melo again. I might go to the Nets, maybe the Rockets. I'm tired of young talent being traded away from the Garden.
The idea that a team of Melo and Amar'e is going to challenge the Heat is patently ABSURD. It'd be less absurd if they tried on defense or displayed Lin's cool under pressure.
I'm sorry. This is a rant, but to let the best young player this team has had since Ewing go for nothing is INSANE. It is insane. INSANE.
k, but you'll be missing some good times when Kidd falls off the wagon and simultaneously crashes it into a tree.

felton's belly will break his fall.
LIn aint getting them passed Miami
Is there a Houston Rockets channel I can get on Dolan's Cablevision box?

Lin can get better. Felton is what he is. Kidd is not what he was.

I think the sole reason that this was not an insta-sign was how Miami exposed him.
Can he be good - really good? Maybe ... but thats all it is.
I hope they sign him but he certainly isn't the savior or what puts them over the top.
The knicks are alot better than they were last year though - even without him.

Whattt are you talking about?? Shumpert isn't going anywhere!
I'm not going to say I'd be done with the Knicks but my excitement level would really drop. I probably won't be investing much time on another mediocre to subpar Knicks team that will never win a ring or develop championship talent. I would never root for the Nets thats for sure

Yup. Lin here or not won't be the deciding factor against Heat or any other playoff team. It's all about the core of Melo/Stat/Chandler, and if the surrounding talent is complementary enough to get it done in the postseason. Don't know if Knick's got better with all the acquisitions, but they definitely got older and experienced. Just sucks, we don't have any young building blocks around all of our vets.

i love that they kept shump. though we all know that wasn't their decision. if nash had said yes to the knicks, shump would be gone along with lin.
this team is horrible.
i understand guys like lin, his story was great, but what did he prove last year? he wouldn't play in the playoffs, he didn't execute great in the half-court set, his defense was questionable at best. were there some good times? sure were, the kid has heart and that's great, but we are trying to win a championship here, not collect guys with heart.
i want lin back just like anyone, but that pricetag is stupid. he's not a proven commodity.

Im still waiting for Gallinari, Chandler, Randolph, Douglas, and Walker to get better.

dolan thinks we're idiots. he thinks we'll buy the false hope that kidd and camby offer.
i'd much rather be rooting for a team of:
Lin, Gallo, Shump, Tyson, Wilson, etc going into next season.
i'd much rather build a relationship to a team and to see young guys come up and learn how to win.
when was the last time a team won a championship that didn't have one of it's top three guys as a homegrown star who had played on the team since his rookie season? Duncan, Kobe, Wade, Pierce. that's the continuity that builds winners. The Knicks will never have that because Dolan is the worst kind of sh!t in the world. entitled, impatient, stupid, arrogant, likes jazz.

Joe Johnson good?
hey, guess what, joe johnson is good.

$25M over three years averages to $8.33 M per year. he is proven at that level. you don't do the things that kid did at the highest level and it's some kind of fluke.

Joe Johnson sux at that price tag!

No question Shump would've been gone too if LA didn't offer up 4 picks last minute. It's only a matter of time before he is traded for another 30+ former star.

fans don't pay the player's salary. this is misdirection by the owners. they make millions off the team and hide their earnings in side businesses and then claim to lose money and point at player salaries - usually at contracts they sign. the knicks can afford lin. the nets can afford johnson.
