If everyone just played cool, kept their mouths shout and just waited for the offer sheet to be signed, the Knicks would've matched. done deal. but woody tells the press the Lin would be the starter next year and that he'll definitely be back. and of course Lin's camp goes back to houston and uses this as leverage. houston blindsides the knicks and juices up the offer. Dolan acts irrationally and here we are.
reports definitely came out that the knicks would match before Woody was quoted.
i remember specifically marc stein from ESPN got an anonymous source on record gloating that the knicks would match "Up to a billion dollars."
someone in the knicks organization got a little gloaty and blabbed too much.
and it cost them.
and now dolan is being a giant baby about the fact that houston called his bluff. and knicks fans are somehow blaming lin for houston offering him money, money that everyone in the world was screaming and laughing the knicks would match.

What's done is done, both sides made mistakes. Now its time for NYK to make its decision and deal with it. I believe they should match.

I'm not looking to point a finger I'm just wondering is it a fact that one deal was proposed and then Lin & his agent went back to Houston in order to make it more difficult for the Knicks to match? If so does this indicate that Lin wants out or was he just following Knicks orders to go out and find the best deal and they'd match no matter what? Lastly why the need to point the finger at just one person? Is Lin innocent in all of this?

Lol at this thread title. Somehow Woody screwed the pooch on Lin reneg'ing the first offer the Knicks were going to insta-match.
Next thing you know, it's Melo fault that Amare blows his back out dunking the first game of the season.
And don't forget, Melo was the one who created the tension between Amare and the fire extinguisher...
Melo poisoned Tyson so that he would suck in the playoffs and Melo would not have to take all the blame.
