@usabasketball: In case you were wondering ... Melo's 37 points came in 14 minutes. No, that's not a typo.
I think the game is on now.
Just finished. US won by 156-73, and yes Melo played only 14 minutes. Insane
Another London Laugher
Dime Live: Carmelo Anthony has a Team USA Olympic record with 37 points, including 10 3-pointers, as Team USA is rolling over Nigeria.
LONDON -- The U.S. men's basketball team has broken its Olympic record for 3-pointers in a game, making 21 through three quarters against Nigeria.
The Americans were 14 of 24 behind the arc on their way to a 78-45 lead at halftime on Thursday. That broke their record of 13 made against Spain in the gold-medal game in 2008.
In third quarter, the U.S. continued draining 3s, hitting 7 of 9 to raise its total to 21.
Carmelo Anthony has made 10 3-pointers, Kevin Durant made four and Kobe Bryant made both of his attempts to lead the long-range attack. After failing to make a 3-pointer in the first quarter of either of their first two games, the Americans were 11 of 14 in the first 10 minutes on their way to a 49-25 bulge.
Another record fell, as Anthony broke the U.S. record for points in an Olympic game, scoring 37 through the middle of the third.
Anthony shattered the record of 31 points set by Stephon Marbury in the 2004 Olympics.
Anthony made 10 of his first 12 3-point shots Thursday night in just 14.5 minutes.
Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
*ucking sick performance!
Looks like the shortened 3 pt line is right in Carmelo's hot zone.
Can this game still be watched online? Or any replays tonight?
ahem... he broke Marbury's scoring record in the Olympics.

Well it's not like he scored 37 points in 12 minutes.
if he just wasn't so fat shooting all those threes.
Gallo would have done it with more style.

I can't believe you think someone bashed Melo's performance. You're too sensitive.

Maybe your right. When the Knicks went on an amazing run to overcome their horrible record for the first 2/3 of the season, made the playoffs and melo got played of the month I was pissed when 'knick fans' were telling me not to be euphoric. This offseason guys have posted here that melo would personally nix a deal for Nash and that he didn't want Lin back so the team didn't resign him. I hated the melo trade at the time and I run hot and cold on him still. But when the guy has an incredible performance and it again is minimized and devalued it pisses me off.

that was one of the most beautiful basketball performances I've ever seen
