Knicks · Hey Let's Discuss Jeremy Lin's not being up to his game in Houston. He claims lingering injury?? (page 13)

Who You Calling Bro?

tkf wrote:rofl.... every single player has some " giving back" charity.. truth is carmelo has an Iq of his shoe size.. the fact that he gets suckered by the media into opening that mouth of his to say dumb thing after dumb thing is proof.

what you just posted is meaningless bro...

tkf - players give back through a variety of means. Not all have Foundations. There is a huge difference.

Just curious, what do you think of Tyson Chandlers tats?

Iman Shumpert's high top fade?

Chris Copelands dreadlocks?

Watched the Nets. They don't look better than the Knicks.

actually they do, and blatche seems to be a pleasant surprise...

Just out of curiosity- why does hatred of the current Knicks seemingly have to go hand in hand with blind optimism for every other team? I'm not having a dig TKF, I know you have your issues with these Knicks, but I just find it bizzare that every pessimistic Knick fan seems to love and see only positive things for other teams.

So far (in 2 preseason games), Blatche looks good (only seen the boxscore), while their big bench signing Teletovic has looked like absolute trash. But it's only been 2 preseason games.

I don't honestly see how people can argue one team looks better than the other in only 2 preseason games, where the starters only play for 20mins or so...

Because this is a knick FAN forum, and to come here and say another team "looks better" after "only 2 preseason games, where the starters only play for 20mins or so" is like trolling trying to start something.

If someone thinks the nets look better after "only 2 preseason games, where the starters only play for 20mins or so" keep it to yourself or post good things on the other teams' forum.

I like coming here for "pure Knicks love" not pessimistic reality about the Knicks (I can go to espn for that).

Actually the Nets starters played longer because it was a close game through out...The wasn't a pre-season game for the Nets, it was the first at Barclays...

good point holfresh. This was more than a preseason game for them. This was opening night at the the home of the nets so of course they treated it like an important game. I still feel the nets are overrated. I mean yes they improved but they dont have the depth to go far. The knicks when healthy have much more depth and experience

BroPez is underrated in many parts. Not that IM nut hugging him but at the very least in Preseason his blocks and rebounds are up compared to his career. NOt to agree with shaq to say he is better than Howard but I have mentioned him cautiously as a top 10 center but he could be a top 5 stat wise.

I agree the Nets bench while inexperienced has some youth to it which gives them room to develope and potentially be promoted or traded down the road. Knicks are built for "NOW" and the "experience" should benefit them if they can be reasonably healthy.

Im on record early that Blatch could be a huge asset for them if his head is right. NO great instight here as he is talented but a bone head. This depth can really go along way this season. I would expect he will get better offers unless the Nets can pay him a fair wage. I doubt many teams will want to invest long term with him, he is sort of on probation as is JR Smith.

To be fair, I thought knicks starting five are equal to the Nets with the balance tipping on BroPez vs. Tyson who bring different things to the court. perhaps the true difference will be chemistry.

This is all subjective stuff and fun to talk about, but its about the games and thats what really counts!

Preseason is not the end all but for players looking to make a statement you can look a bit deeper. Melo need not make a statement but Felton does. Nets are really hyped now and big pressure to come out of the gate strong. The eyes of the world are on them. Im sure if the knicks start 0-2 we'll panic but really its just 2 games and Miami is the reigning champs!

Im glad game one is a KNick/N*t game and the NBA had the stones to do it. I suprised Dolan allowed it to happen. I don't know if the teams have a choice.

Um, Bropez has played one preseason game. I don't think its time to talk about his career numbers being up. I do agree that he is underrated and could have a big impact if healthy. Checking in on the Nets/Celts and Blatche looks pretty good.

2 preseason games for Lopez
game 1 - 19pts, 9rebs, 3 blks
game 2 - 18pts, 11rebs

you know a few years ago he averaged 18 & 8 before the illness & injuries

Brook has looked good.

Syniko @ 10/16/2012 10:29 PM
This is only the preseason. Players playing hard are only asking for an early injury. Nobody wants to go out before the real season even got started. Comparing stats on who is doing what after only four games is a little silly. Lin shooting 1 for 3 and 1 for 10 is nothing to holler at the moon about.

I still wish Novak/Lin were on the same team together. They read each other's mind like psychic readers. Sure missed those old days of watching Novak post up behind the 3 pt line and watching Lin feed him him the ball for instant drainage. That didn't sound right at all.

Offense is not his problem. It is defense and mainly durability.

Do you actually think that he will even play 60 pct of their games this season?

I have the same questions about Amare. Knicks will depend more on Amare than the Nets will with Lopez

I Agree. They are both suspect in regards to durability. Not sure who is relied upon more.

Hilarious. Fields bricking J's and JJ missing layups.

JR's hops are freaky. Can Woody get to him? What a waste if not.

Those Lin games were magical. I will miss them.

NYKBocker @ 10/17/2012 12:30 PM

Lin had a better TOV% per 36 min than Rondo, Rubio, Kidd and Nash.
Lin also had a ridiculous 7 FTA per 36 min. Meaning he was very aggressive going to the basket.

Miniscule sample size. Better to use their career TOV%.

Nash 19.5%
Kidd 18.9%
Rondo 20.2%
Rubio 22.2% (Rookie year)
Lin 20.9 (Only 64 games played, not even a full season)
Williams 16.6%

Curious that you didn't put the Gold Standard of the current crop

Chris Paul 13.0%

Just for shyts and giggles

Raymond Felton 16.4%

This is exactly where I believe the Knicks will miss Lin, because he had the potential to be our third best offensive option, as well as diversify the offence by getting to the rim from the perimeter (something that I don’t see any of our current players doing as effectively) while Melo and STAT work inside.

Felton lower TOV% is not surprising, since he also have a lower USG% for his career.
