For
Amare and Chandler
Knicks would have cap space for summer 2014. Knicks going nowhere with Chandler and Amare up front.

No team is taking back $35mil in Salary giving back value. You're nuts. It's not Chandler is exactly a player you want to be anchored with either health wise. He's liable to crumble himself.
Packing Amar'e with Shumpert may get us some value.Amare and Chandler give a mediocre team a solid front court. Knicks are going to have to rebuild on the fly around Melo.

We both know Amare is going to be in and out of the lineup. Amare is too proud to come off the bench.
Knicks need consistency to build chemistry. Bogut is always injured but is serviceable. Lee can at least stay healthy and Jefferson is garbage.

Your first statement is probably true but let me ask, did you really think Amar'e was going be healthy for the duration of his contract?
I for one never did and I'm not saying this because he's injured now. I've always been concerned about this from day 1. I noticed he was having an odd finish last year in Phx. One of the first signs was him having to gather more often before lifting and getting his shot blocked. He appeared to have recovered some first year here but D'AnToni played him so many minutes, we saw him wear down after his amazing offensive run. The following season he was getting his stuff mushed in his face on a regular basis. When I see players like Amir Johnson/Bargs/Rooks getting the best of him on possessions you know something is up.
If you haven't noticed it's beginning to happen to Melo a lot too.
If we're trading injured players for injured players I'd rather trade for Kevin Martin. I know he's an expiring and it's Morey who likes to rape us that's why I said we'd probably have to use Shumpert to dump Amar'e.... a straight up deal won't work. Your deal doesn't solve anything on paper per say healthwise, although if Bogut was to remain healthy I do like it from that perspective but Bogut hasn't played 1 game in Pre-Season. Keep this in mind.
I'll qualify and say I think GSW can be a playoff team but it's dependent on the health of Bogut and Petey
I do like your trade from a long term cap perspective because you save the organization about $40 on the last year Amar'e and Chandler's but not so fast...... you increase our Cap by almost $7mil this year and more in the 2nd but guess what we wouldn't Match Houston's offer to Lin because we scared of the Tax implications not only on his last year.
One last thing you're not necessarily rebuilding on the fly you'e retooling because rebuilding would mean adding youth to an aging team.....See Boston Celtics when it comes to rebuilding on the fly or the San Antonio Spurs or the Dallas Mavericks. You can't add 30yr or older players to a team full of near 30yr old players or older.
Bogut is a walking injury. Biedrens and Jefferson are pure garbage.
Golden State would have a sweet starting lineup.

Agreed good point about Scola, maybe we can do a 3 teamer or something. Bottom line we're not trading Amar'e straight up, no anchoring him with tons of salary.

Amare has a bad back and knees. We have limited options in who wants him.
I just want his cap killing contract off the Knicks cap before he starts collecting DNPs.

Other teams will fear the same. We're stuck bro

That's not rebuilding that's spinning our wheels.
Knixkik wrote:Can't trade Chandler just to unload Stoudemire, he is worth too much. If and when its time to trade Stoudemire, Knicks need to take a good look at how to best build around Melo. They need to do what Denver did only better. Melo can get you a 50-win season and into the playoffs without other star players. They just need to put the players around him that will help him get further. Chandler is ideal at center. I think Felton will mesh nicely as well. Next summer Knicks should look to deal Stoudemire (only 2 years left on his contract) for a few shooters and rebounding/defending big man types. Stoudemire for David Lee and Biendris makes sense for both teams. Lee will rebound and pass well, 2 attributes that will fit well with Melo. He will also be the 2nd scorer.
Amare is braking down before our eyes. We can't wait until next year. Amare can easily become Arenas or Rashard Lewis.
I like Chandler but the guy has zero offense and is also not the most durable center. If the Knicks could unload both those deals we would be in good shape going forward.
I'm not looking forward to another first round exit. I'd prefer the lottery pick.
No, I'm not advocating tanking but getting low seeding with Melo playing balls to the wall is useless.

Think of the cap space we would have had if we did not amnesty Billups, let him come off the books, and saved our amnesty for Amare.
30+ million in cap space? not too shabby.
Knicks need to make the hard decision. Build around Melo and make everyone available.
With the new salary cap structure the Knicks are dead in the water with Amare's contract.

Dude why do you hate Melo? Seriously. We know he isn't Lebron but dam. You was slurping Gallinari hard and he has done nothing in the league. Gallinari still is crazy inconsistent and still doesn't show up when it counts.
Yet you somehow believe the Knicks would be better with the old team that took us straight to the lottery for years.
Wizard might be the best choice for talent.
I am not even sure if we can get draft picks in return, I doubt it, at least 1st rounders.
While Wizards already have many players on the PF/C positions but some are injured with the history.
Whatever team that trades for Amare, would lose the abilitiy to sign a FA,
Miami's Big 3*opt outs*
The old but big names, Kobe Bryant/Dirk/Duncan *player option*
I know these trades don't look appealing at all, but lets be realistic, we are not getting the players that we want with Amare's contract.
I can't see a team offering expirings like what Atlanta got for Joe Johnson
Bobcats
-------------
Tyrus Thomas 3year (8-9m per yearh) or Ben Gordon(2 year 12,13m) with Sessions/Fillers that waived.
If we had to take Tyrus Thomas and Ben Gordon is it fair to get a 1st round pick and threw in 2 2nd round picks?
Sessions/ Kemba Walker
Wallace/Walker
MKG/Wallace
Mullens/Biyombo
Amare/Biyombo
Amare actually can return put up good numbers, similar to our MVP chants with this squad. They could use a couple shooters, but he would clearly be the #1 option and gets to play Center again.
Mullens/Sessions/MKG are players that could all play off Amare at C and Amare could play off their skills as well.
It comes down to fit, something I believe our starting roster does not have with our BIG 3 ATM.
It is unlikely an All Star is signing with the Bobcats, especially since they added Ben Gordon for this summer.
Not sure if they used their Amnesty yet.
Wizards
--------------
Ok4/Ariza
Detriot

Maggette or Villaneuva and filler?????

there you go.. .when all else fails attack gallo...
and when does it count man? gallo has been in the league all of 4 years... has melo shown up when it counts? has he?
you are defending melo by trying to point out flaws of other players... not a good way to defend your point... If gallo was flawless that wouldn't make me like carmelo anymore, if gallo was a bum, it still wouldn't change how I feel about carmelo.. so why bring him into the argument?
I have stated many times why I don't like carmelo.... no need to repeat it again...

Dude your entitled to your opinion. I'm just asking because your entire posting style changed after the Melo trade.
Carmelo has flaws in his game yes. Thing is we aren't getting Lebron or Durant to replace him.
Do you seriously believe Denver wouldn't trade us back Chandler and Gallinari for Melo? Do you think Memphis wouldn't trade us Gay for Melo. Come on man. Melo is the at worse the 3rd best SF in the NBA.

why would denver do that? they are set for years to come.. it is this constant overrating of melo that is just hilarious.. tell me, why would denver want him back after they have seen first hand 9 years of playoff failure? why?
The guy is prick.. he is a selfish player.. he sabotaged this team, and now that he has what he wants, we have an old team, with no flexibility and no future.. I dislike him because he doesn't make anyone better, yet he refuses to adjust his game.. He is a douchebag... and a douchebag that doesn't at least win, is the most worthless thing I can think of....
Do you think Memphis wouldn't trade us Gay for Melo.
that is the wrong question.. would you have traded everything we did to get melo,to get gay?
they question is? would the clippers trade us chris paul for melo? would the lakers trade us kobe for melo? would the heat trade lebron or wade for melo? would the nets trade us deron for melo? would boston trade us rondo for melo? heck even pierce? would dallas trade us dirk for melo? the answer most likely would be no!
heck I wish we had traded for rudy gay, we would have spent a lot less to get him and probably would be in a much better position right now..
our team assembles a wreck right now, and it all happened as soon as this clown forced his way here..
let me ask you.. are you happy with the way this team is built now? honestly...
