Have to admit I didn't think Harden would be lighting it up like this but his real test will come if Houston makes the playoffs. I don't know where they are in the standings.

Watched the Lakers game last night, they look like they're starting to click even though they lost.

6th in the West 3gms back from a 4th seed. Since the Clippers are smacking the hell out of the Warriors the Rockets will be 2 1/1 gms back of the 4th seed after tonight

Impressive considering how fast this team was thrown together.

The scary thing, they can only get better, they haven't even come close to reaching their potential. They are young and have a bright future.

They are 1 stud PF away from elite. Bargnani would be ideal with his ability to shoot 3s.

Bargs is gettable but

Not really because the Rockets have no problem scoring....Josh Smith probably completes them more so as they need to improve defensively. The Raptors have been playing better every since Bargs has been axed from their rotation.

Maybe Anderson Varejao too could nearly complete them. They have assets to pull off a deal for both

Josh Smith is a selfish dumb chucker. The Rockets are a fluid team and Smith could kill that. He is just a better version of Michael Beasley (offensively)

The Smith stuff is just nonsense.
Not only should Smith be getting recognition for leading the Hawks so far to where they are now, but also....seriously? "He's just a better version of Beasley" (and offensively of all things?)??
No offense, but I completely dissagree with your post.
You may not like him, just like some people may not like Melo on here, but they both deserve credit for driving their teams to where they are currently.

To be honest, I have not followed Atlanta this year since I don't have a rooting interest. I don't like his game and found him to be quite selfish though he is a supreme athlete.

His TS this year is .476. That is beyond brutal at his position.

Denver is a team that nobody will want to face in the playoffs and have played about 10 more road games than home.

if they can get any kind of home court in a series that is going to be hell on the team that faces them...

yeah - they could be scary come playoff time however I think the lack of a goto player will inhibit them from winning more than one series (IMHO). They are a very balanced scoring team and I think that in the playoffs you need that but you also need a player who will get you that crunch bucket and I am not sure they have it. When the team is struggling, who will take it upon them to carry the team on his shoulders?

Either way. They are a solid "team".

not many teams nowadays have that player... so we will see, depends on who they face I guess....

Hard to say. Right now, they would be better with Dragic but Lin is playing better than Dragic did at the same age. Maybe Dragic simply wanted to play in Phoenix anyway.

If you ask me it wasn't so much about Phoenix as it was about Gentry in particular.
Yeah, and we'll see how Lin does. One thing I can say is Dragič had to wait for quite a while before getting big minutes, while Lin was lucky to get that chance (fair play to him though he took it well). And coming from Europe is a bigger difference than coming through college like pretty much everybody else in the NBA.
Again, just stating reasons as to why that might be so, don't want to engage into anything overdramatic :).

I feel sorry for Dragič right now. Yes, he's starting (even though he's not exactly getting a huge amount of minutes, and from what I watched the Suns the ball doesn't spend nearly enough time in Dragič's hands when the Suns have posession), but he's playing on such a shit team it's just painful to watch.

Two league sources contacted on Sunday said that the Celtics will look to bolster their roster via a multi-player trade.

While it’s unlikely the Celtics will look to move any member of their big Three – Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett – league sources confirmed that there’s “growing” interest in Courtney Lee who might become more expendable with the return of Avery Bradley.

Brandon Bass is another possible Celtic on the move, one league source said.

I called Danny Ainge's activity with interest in Rudy Gay. Boston will make a move....BOOK IT!

You did call it. I would think Boston would need Gay if they trade Bass. Bass plays LBJ very well and has the size to match up with him.

This is him getting teams to call him so he can start putting packages together...I was thinking Green/Sulli/filler/pick for Gay/filler but he may be able to finagle something different with them or some other team...since they are loaded with assets

HE WOULDN'T BE MY first choice, but I was never a huge smith fan, I have the same problem with him as I do carmelo but to a lesser extent, josh does defend... I remember watching him in AAU games my friend used to ref, this guy was a whiner... not a fan of that, but he does possess a lot of skill and has a unique all around game... he might not be a bad fit for the rockets although he might not be my first choice....

Thats why I find your stances at times a bit off balance (no offense). You seem to require efficiency from some players but ignore awful efficiency from others.

Josh Smith is as inefficient as it gets at that position. He does play defense and is a good shot blocker. A TS of .476 at that position is putrid.

When I suggested him I clearly said he's being brought to the team for defense and maybe offensive transition. The Rockets don't have a problem scoring they don't need him to score. Smith isn't so bad offensively that would be the reason you don't acquire it's more about his team demeanor and mental approach. This year he's been pretty solid for ATL. It also depends what he's looking for dollars wise. Not sure what ideal 4 is out there, that's truly an option to obtain for the Rockets besides who I mentioned....

Maybe 2 others Ryan Anderson and Ersan Illyasova but once again who is the ideal fit for them, that takes them to another level. They don't need an offensive 4, that's for sure.

I AM very consistent... I love efficiency but josh smith won't be on my team for scoring.. if I have a guy who does nothing but score like carmelo then I at least want him to be efficient... and josh smith is not that bad offensively he is a career 46% shooter, and truth be told he is a pretty good passer and he can run offense..... but what he does is defend and block shots, he is one of those guys that can give you a 10 block 10 assist game.. that is unique man... as I said clearly he is not my ideal or first choice...
