Have to admit I didn't think Harden would be lighting it up like this but his real test will come if Houston makes the playoffs. I don't know where they are in the standings.

Watched the Lakers game last night, they look like they're starting to click even though they lost.

6th in the West 3gms back from a 4th seed. Since the Clippers are smacking the hell out of the Warriors the Rockets will be 2 1/1 gms back of the 4th seed after tonight

Impressive considering how fast this team was thrown together.

The scary thing, they can only get better, they haven't even come close to reaching their potential. They are young and have a bright future.

LIN, Harden,Asik, and Parsons is a nice young core to work with.. if they get their hands on a stud PF....jeez!!

you're from atlanta, would you want Josh Smith?

HE WOULDN'T BE MY first choice, but I was never a huge smith fan, I have the same problem with him as I do carmelo but to a lesser extent, josh does defend... I remember watching him in AAU games my friend used to ref, this guy was a whiner... not a fan of that, but he does possess a lot of skill and has a unique all around game... he might not be a bad fit for the rockets although he might not be my first choice....

Thats why I find your stances at times a bit off balance (no offense). You seem to require efficiency from some players but ignore awful efficiency from others.

Josh Smith is as inefficient as it gets at that position. He does play defense and is a good shot blocker. A TS of .476 at that position is putrid.

I AM very consistent... I love efficiency but josh smith won't be on my team for scoring.. if I have a guy who does nothing but score like carmelo then I at least want him to be efficient... and josh smith is not that bad offensively he is a career 46% shooter, and truth be told he is a pretty good passer and he can run offense..... but what he does is defend and block shots, he is one of those guys that can give you a 10 block 10 assist game.. that is unique man... as I said clearly he is not my ideal or first choice...

When I suggested him I clearly said he's be brought to the team for defense and maybe offensive transition. The Rockets don't have a problem scoring they don't need him to score. Smith isn't so bad offensively that would be the reason you don't acquire it's more about his team demeanor and mental approach. This year he's been pretty solid for ATL. It also depends what he's looking for dollars wise. Not sure what ideal 4 is out there, that's truly an option to obtain for the Rockets besides who I mentioned....

Maybe 2 others Ryan Anderson and Ersan Illyasova but once again who is the ideal fit for them, that takes them to another level. They don't need an offensive 4, that's for sure.

I don't watch atlanta so I can certainly be missing something. However, Smith is having his worst year efficiency wise of his career.

Rockets score 106.2/gm so what would Smith need to do offensively better than who they have playing the 4? It's like you're picking at a bone that isn't relevant as to why a team like the Rockets would acquire him.

There is more to basketball than Offensive Efficiency you know things like passing/defending/rebounding.

Smith is not there for his scoring but will he just start passing up shots because you want him to? He never did. He is certainly unique but that TS is glaring. Also check out his TS for his last 2 playoffs - 43 and 45.

I think they could use a Gerald Wallace type.

No I don't think he'd be chasing shots in Houston if traded there. They do play at a higher pace than the Hawks so the shots may still be there depending how they would acquire him in a hypothetical situation. Go look at Smith's career FGA when ATL was winning and making the playoffs consistently he shot more in the 12-14fga/gm range.

A player doesn't pass up shots just because their main assignment may be defending, he can still perform within the offensive scheme but his offense wouldn't be heavily relied upon is the point of emphasis. His offense would be more complementary, not a necessity.

Talking to some of you, you like to get extremely trivial....lol

Its not that black and white. He obviously has value but you are simplifying his potential to disrupt their flow. This year he is shooting 16.4 shots a game and last year 17. Was there not enough scoring on Atlanta? Did he need to pick up the slack?

Last year when he shot 17fga maybe that was because Al Horford missed 50+gms that season and Jamal in Portland. This year shooting 16.4 maybe because Joe Johnson is in Brooklyn along with no Jamal Crawford coming off the bench once again. He's been asked to carry more of a load offensively the past 2 seasons. Ironically the seasons prior to when he was asked to do less under Woody he was somewhat more efficient. I'm thinking McHale would understand this and how to use him if traded to Houston.

Maybe it's like you said in a previous post..... you don't follow the Hawks that well and it shows at times when you post and try to make invalid points

I have stated that I don't follow them (this year) but I have seen enough of Smith to not like his game. You can spin it any way you like and assume that a coach will control him ... and that he will be ok with fewer shots. Enjoy him - not for me. Houston is going in the right direction and he is not that direction. But again, I don't care to watch Hawk games this year. I do watch almost all Houston games and would hate to see him on that team (unless he was really cheap of course).

Feast or Famine with his shooting and Stu Lantz(Lakers color guy) said it's a growing concern within the Denver organization. Karl should bring him off the bench to light a fire because obviously it's not sinking in with him. There isn't one thing Gallo does consistently well on a nightly basis.

Its not just the awful shooting he is lost

lol @ the Gallo Dagger accidental offense. He is capable
mrKnickShot @ 1/6/2013 11:58 PM
wow!!!! Gallo hits a miracle 3. Crazy!

Denver really lacks a goto guy / closer. Its quite glaring. Iggy is not that guy and Gallo certainly is not.
