There is no white flag for me to waive as I stated back in July, 2012 that this team would likely be the best team we've had in a decade and they are presently playing like it. I stated Lin would be average back in July / August and Lin is presently performing at an average level (at very best).

The argument being discussed herein has been regurgitated for months and you have stated in one form or another that you will continue to hate Melo regardless of how well the Knicks do and/or how well Melo plays. The Knicks are off to their best start in over a decade or so and you still feel the need to incessantly prattle about your hate for Melo. In short, you admittedly are not capable of being remotely reasonable as it relates to the current Knick team and Melo. Therefore, I wont attempt to engage you in reasonable discussion specifically relating to Melo.

As for you calling my integrity into question, LOL! I consider you to be a troll and respond to your post as such.

The End.

And TKF still wont answer my question

it's a moot question since the knicks are not going to win a title with melo as the best player. the best realistic upside you can expect with him is ECF and, with a huge leap of faith, a finals appearance. he just doesn't have it in him to lead a team to a title.

i understand the optimism after four games, even if it's tinged with desperation. i have been quite pleased with his effort on defense and hustle plays to be honest. but he remains too inefficient and this will hinder the team's potential for success.

its not a moot question but is tells everyone all they need to know about his opinion on Melo and how can you say they are not going to win a title, stop being slaves of the media and have some faith in your team

We all know this was ignored in February 2011 but a contingency of fans wants everyone to Kumbaya this team now or should I say Melo's team....

Valid reasoning in principle, although I'm skeptical as all get out about this team.

4 games isn't enough to be talking MVP but I like the start, that's for sure. If he can sustain it then Melo will be a legit MVP candidate.

I think he'll have to sustain it if we're to have any chance of contending

it wasn't said about dirk after 9 years in the league.... actually most expected dirk to win a ring and was dissapointed it didn't happen sooner.. hence the criticism.. at this point people just want to see carmelo not underachieve year after year in the postseason... that would be a nice first step...

haha, you really went out on a limb there.. well here is another prediction.. knicks will win at least 5 games.... after a decade of horrible basketball, this was no real act of genius... as far as lin, more premature celebrations...on your part..

Really? Dirk didn't win until his 13th year in the league. It was said by many that Dirk couldn't lead a team to the promised land, and that he was soft and couldn't handle the pressure. He proved everyone wrong.

We made the playoffs in back to back seasons and injuries had everything to do with us being eliminated. We're off to our best start in 20 years and Melo is the reason whether you like it or not.

really when dirk came to the mavs he was not their franchise player, they had finley, nash etc. but when the team was turned over to dirk, or he took the torch, they went to the finals in 2006 in a series most including knick fans felt the mavs won if not for "d-whistle" that was not 13 seasons, not even close..

sorry can't use dirk to help validate carmelo either.. first kobe, now dirk.. jeez.....

but whatever.. I digress

I'm not trying to validate Melo just saying that unless you have a crystal ball that tells the future of sports you can't say that the Melo can't lead the Knicks to a chip. Melo is our franchise player and I have faith that he can get us to the promised land. If you don't feel the same why bother watching the games or even discussing the games on a forum?

I only brought up Dirk as he was called the same things that Melo is today. Dirk put it behind him and got it done. Why can't Melo do the same? Cus you don't like him? Disregard Kidd stating that Melo is the Knicks Dirk and that Chandler has stated that this Knicks team has the same feeling as the championship Mavs.

12 rebounds on a night the shots weren't falling along with the hustle plays, defensive stops, and the pass to Felton which gave JR the shot of the game.
