Knicks · How about Camby to Charlotte for G Henderson (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 12/12/2012 10:16 AM
Bobcats have way too many guards and have no rebounding. Camby could step in and start/help in a big way and Hendersen can move into our starting SG spot solidifying our roster for the rest of the year. Camby is an insurance policy for us--nothing material--hell get all the PT he wants in Charlotte and we make our team # 1 in the league with a move like this. This is our weak spot--the spot IMHO that puts pressure on this team--starting 2G. Camby doesnt want to sit and we have no place for him--even with injury--with Stoudemire Wallace Thomas Chandler and Copeland.
ChuckBuck @ 12/12/2012 10:19 AM
Would Camby even pass a physical at this point? He can't even get on the floor.
Knixkik @ 12/12/2012 10:20 AM
Is Henderson even a rotation player on the Knicks, let alone a starter? Kidd fits better as a starting SG i think. Otherwise, i like the idea, i think we need to target a young big man and young wing moving into next season to stay a contender.
AnubisADL @ 12/12/2012 10:38 AM
Bobcats arent trading Henderson for Camby man.

Camby is the only other legit big we have. He is going nowhere.

misterearl @ 12/12/2012 10:46 AM
No trades

thank you for playing

16-5

VCoug @ 12/12/2012 10:48 AM
I don't see it for Charlotte at all. Camby is completely wasted on a crappy team and is most valuable as a role player on a contending squad. Any trades that Charlotte makes will be for draft picks or young players.
MSG3 @ 12/12/2012 11:04 AM
We need Camby. He's exactly what this team is missing right now....
IrishKnickFan @ 12/12/2012 11:07 AM
I agree Camby would help bigtime. However it seems liek whenver he is in a Knick uniform he cant stay on the court.
Allanfan20 @ 12/12/2012 11:27 AM
A lot of you don't like this idea but this is something you would have to do. He's a good good good shooting guard who can start or come off the bench and he can rotate with Shumpert/Smith. Camby is giving us nothing, came to camp out of shape and now he's a 38 year old with plantar fascitis. That's not an injury that just goes away. Ewing retired just a couple of years after and Glen Rice retired almost immediately.

This is a case when it's OK to trade big for small and experienced for young.

Misterearl, you say we are 16 and 5, which is great... If it's OK for the Yankees to trade their players why shouldn't it be OK for the Knicks to trade theirs. We have a lot of things to improve on.

mrKnickShot @ 12/12/2012 11:52 AM
would love this. Henderson looks like a star when he plays against us. He never misses.

Why would Charlotte do this?

Exactly and for a 38yr old who can't get on the floor

If we can do the 2 trades on the table:

Felton for Curry

and

Camby for Henderson

WE COULD WIN A PLAYOFF SERIES

not sure what the hold up is - GRUNNY! Get it done!

Swishfm3 @ 12/12/2012 12:29 PM
Bobcats are pretty high on Henderson and doubt they would make that trade...especially for a player Cambys age and length of contract

Briggs ,you sound like a used car salesman trying to sell an old caddy(Camby) for a new chevy(Henderson). The kitties would never do this, their fans would go wild. The kitties need someone to put butts in the seats, and albt henderson doesnt do that, but hes gives them something to cheer for.Camby has no value to them.

Gosh darn Rod strickland for Mo cheeks:) I wouldnt do it either but a rambunctious owner like MJ who wants to win now--who have to many guards might. I doubt we do anything--they will keep Camby as insurance for better or worse and hope that J Kidd survives and Iman can comeback. I don't like when people say 16-5 I know that. There are plenty of runners who lead the first 5 miles and fall back as they tire out in marathons. This a good team but its kind of held together by string aspirin and band aids. On the bright side if we do get a healthy Amare and Shumpert back---we can toss out the string.

Bonn1997 @ 12/12/2012 1:57 PM
I don't think he gives us much beyond what we have now, whereas a healthy Camby is a strong impact player.

Getting Amare, Shump and Camby back is the difference between us and the Nuggets and Sixers last year getting off to hot starts and fizzling. Boston and Chicago will make a late run

Exactly and it will create ban opportunity to play Pablo for extended minutes if Felton is not playing well because of amare.

Chemistry Is Not Created Via Trades

Allanfan20 - the moment you start treating players as people and not baseball cards, will be the moment you understand that the best thing the Knicks have going for them is camaraderie.

Not statistics or measurables.

Camby is a legacy player. In the same way that Darrell Walker and Mike Woodson are legacy coaches.

You do not build a team by trading away your legacy. A trade does not build stability on the team bus or in the locker room. Continuity is is missing ingredient over the last two decades.

Rather than change for the sake of change, Why not let this entertaining (and winning) run play out?
