NBA · Kevin Durant is obviously the frontrunner for the MVP (page 1)

The Thunder are 20-4, best record in the league.

Look at the numbers of the transcendent player that is KD:

27.1 PPG
8.3 RPG
4.2 APG (love this particular stat)
1.4 BPG (this one, too!)
1.5 SPG
51% FG
44% 3FG
90% FT
65% TS (oh mah lawd!)

His numbers give me the chills. His game is phenomenal. He scores within the flow of offense and takes less shots than the next best scorer on his team (Westbrook). He rebounds, he plays D, he shares the basketball. He is the complete package.

I am of this school of thumb: the MVP belongs to the best player on the team with the best record. And when that player has the best numbers of anyone in the league? That just solidifies the choice.

Carmelo Anthony has impressed me so much this season. LeBron has been LeBron. Chris Paul has been his usual wonderful self, and Tim Duncan has continued to outrun Father Time. Nuff respect to Randolph in Memphis. But if the MVP was voted on today, it would go to the man, KD.

Agreed.

KD is a freak and he is doing it after he lost harden and playing with a talented bonehead in Westbrook.

I am a huge fan of Westbrook. I love his athleticism and defense. He's raw and explosive, with an extraordinary amount of passion for the game. It's his 5th season, and he has yet to miss a game. But I'm not sure how Kevin Durant hasn't punched him in the face yet. Man. He's got the patience of a saint with Westbrook.

I like KD. Has evolved from a great scorer into a great all around player.

Sky's the limit for this young dude.

I hate him and Westbrook. I hope they miss the playoffs.

Not really. I'm actually glad KD exists. He's the anti-LeBron, as far as I'm concerned.

We actually had a shot at drafting Westbrook, didn't we?

We're always a pick or 2 close, but ended up with the 6th pick....

Barely missed out on Westbrook(4th) and Kevin Love(5th). Oh well.
