Anji wrote:Melo: Sub par game, but 19 points in the fourth??? That's the difference between big boy pants and DaniloTrainer pants.

TC: Big 16 points, but the DPOY can't be getting destroyed by Nikola Pekovic. He had no help either with Love out, though TC came up big when it counted so you can't hate at all.

Felton: Big 15 points, shoots 2-3 too many shots a game but we needed every point from him. Picked up the pick and roll D late, but better late than never.

JR Smith: Best player behind Melo, third best Rebounder, second best playmaker, could be the best all around player we have maybe second next to Melo. How does this guy not start when Amare get's back?

Novack: I don't see the point of him playing, getting destroyed by Cunningham on the boards or killing our rotations for 4 pts doesn't seem like a fair trade off. Come on Woodson, we got a better all around Novack on the bench name Copeland. 20 wasted minutes IMO.

Kidd: 0 points and 0 assists. I don't think he should start, even though he is a great leader, he can't penetrate or get his own shot and his defense has been looking slow of late. There's a reason why Felton has the ball 90 percent of the game, if the D isn't off balance from Felton/JR/Melo/loose balls Kidd can't get those assists. (MVP my ass)

Brewer: 0 points and 0 shots: Just bad, can't cover for a guy like this unless he is grabbing Rodman like rebounds. He's defense is sub par and finishing around the rim is Felton like right now. Might as well sit him down and let him recover, he is way better than this. Could start Copeland or White to help space the floor for the paltry 15 minutes or so Brewer is playing.

Knicks are short bodies, Camby and Amare are coming back, hopefully we go into the New Year with a win streak after stealing this game.

Great Post

Amare will start

What a dunk by Smith.
CrushAlot @ 12/23/2012 9:59 PM
I know this is the rewind but Smith with a huge dunk, a steal, another dunk, a steal and an assist to Chandler. Man so glad this game is being replayed.

Watching the game again. Melo complains after every single play. Its no surprise the officials have a vendetta against him. Always showing off the officials

This has been going on since the start of the season.

All I'm saying is, Pekovic is a filthy beast, everything I do in the gym I do now so that I can become a filthy animal like Pekovic on the court.

THE GUY YOU CAN'T MOVE HIM, HE IS LIKE YOU RUN INTO STONE IF YOU RUN INTO HIM, that's what everyone should aspire to

I'm not sure why Woody won't start Cope. It can't be defense, b/c Brewer's defense has been sub-par at best. Cope would actually knock down the shots that find him when Melo is double-teamed and he has good size, so I imagine he'd help out on the boards. Brewer hasn't scored in double digits since November and he's been averaging about 20 minutes a game. In December, his averages have been 4/3/1 on 27% FG with crappy D. Give his minutes to Cope. C'mon, Woody.

Yeah I just saw 7 for 15 and was surprised. Definitely didn't feel like a good floor game by him. And yes he should pass up some semi open shots at times as a point guard.

It did seem like 7 of 15 for me- people just started souring on Felton so they ignored all the good he was doing- a few posters have been constantly pushing 'Felton is a scrub', 'Novak is a scrub' and 'Tyson is terrible this year', but they've been doing it so regularly it gives the illusion that it's the majority opinion.

Even games where he's shooting badly (this wasn't one of them) Felton is one of those players (like JR) who can still make timely hoops even if they've missed 10 in a row. Felton is what he is- inconsistent. He plays some games better than he is, and sometimes worse than he is. His stats fluctuate from month to month.

Can't believe we won this game after the first half- phew! One things for sure, as gutsy a win as this turned out to be, we're starting to look rougher by the day (injuries and tiredness I think)- anyone who watched the past few games and doesn't think we need Amar'e is high.

Listen to the Twolves coverage, they knew Felton points in the Fourth were big shots.

And if you look at the quarter, Knicks scored 23 points, won by 3 and got 19 out of Melo. How big was those four points???

Haters going to hate.

NYKMentality @ 12/24/2012 6:08 AM
Anji is 100% correct. J.R Smith is our second best all around Knicks talent. Key word being 'all around'. J.R Smith to me, is more of a pure shooting guard when compared to Shumpert. J.R Smith can actually shoot lights out when focused. Both are as athletic as they come, but Shumpert is stronger physically/naturally. Which means, I play J.R Smith at 2G with Shumpert locking down the SF position.

C: Tyson Chandler.
PF: Carmelo Anthony.
SF: Iman Shumpert.
2G: J.R Smith.
PG: Jason Kidd.

That makes for a nasty unit. Doesn't have to be our starting 5 either. Felton's our starter with J.R Smith coming off the bench. Melo at the SF with Stoudemire at PF. That could be our starting 5 and I'd love it. But, this unit above? It's something that I'd love to see regardless of rotation. A HOF Veteran in Kidd running an offense in which features two up and coming athletic wing players in J.R and Shumpert? A scoring freak of nature in Melo and future HOF in his own right? Along with a Center in which cean feast and/or clean up down low? It's all she wrote. Then you have Kidd, the same Kidd who can drain the big shot.

C: Tyson Chandler.
PF: Carmelo Anthony.
SF: Ronnie Brewer.
2G: J.R Smith.
PG: Iman Shumpert.

For when we need to go strong on defense. For when we really need to protect a lead and/or get after it on the defensive end of the court. Shumpert, J.R and Brewer will combine for the strongest trio of perimeter defense in the game today. Then you'll have two bulls in Melo and Tyson Chandler down low. Sign me up. On offense, when you have Melo and J.R on the same court? You're scoring one way or another.

I'm head over heels,

you know how great that must feel, to be so strong that no man can move you on the court?

Not different from most stars..watch Lebron, wade, Kobe, Durant and Duncan..they whine just as much. It's a NBA problem.

I remember watching him destroy Jerome Jordan few years ago in the Serbian league. Then we sign JJ instead of him.

Pekovic was drafted in 2008 by the wolves. The Knicks never had a chance to sign him over JJ.
