Knicks · How to manage the team roster (page 1)

1) Roles, minutes and DNPs: Prigs, Copeland, White should be getting burn. They have played well in limited minutes. Why are we tearing down / wearing out our old guys and not keeping them fresh for the 4th quarter and the rest of the season?

2) Our PG, felton, is not distributing: There is no reason for felton to ever be taking 15+ shots per game. He does not have that type of green light with the other ammo on this squad. He needs to get that ball to Melo, JR, Chandler. Find Chandler more. Stop passing the rock at Chandler's feet. He CAN NOT catch it that low and has hands of lead. Lobs and chest passes. Chandler plays above the rim, hit him high.

Not sure when Felton fell into his old bad habits but I know he tries to handle the scoring load when Melo is out. I think he needs to mend his bruises for a few games. Maybe during that time he can get back the mindset that he came in with and come back not looking for his shot as much. Prigs and Kidd are definitely of the same mindset in regards to how to play the point.

We have problems against teams with big front lines...DHow took away the lob, Felt to Chan...He tipped away quite a few lobs...We couldn't execute down the stretch...Artest had a throw back game...Nash was Nash..He hit key shots when needed...Felton was just horrible once again...I'm not sure anyone is talking to him about shot selection...But there were some positives...JR is playing the best ball of his life...Camby might be able to help...Kidd played well...Melo is balling...

If today's game doesn't tell folks we need Amare, I don't know what will...We also need Shump's defense on the perimeter...The thing that struck me was that the Lakers had many options when they needed a basket...We have Melo...Melo needs help...We needed Melo to take over the game in spurts...But I'm also concerned he isn't trusting his teammates as he did early in the season...And for good reason..But he has to get back to distributing the ball...

Another thing... After today's games, if we are to compete with the leagues best, we showed were aren't quite there yet...But we have made progress...We are going to need the vets to step up...Sheed, Camby and Amare...

They actually showed Melo talking to Felton about his shot selection in their Mic'd up highlights. Felton is questionable for tomorrow so hopefully the team will tell him to sit out like they did with Melo earlier

Yeah. He has bone bruises in both hands. I don't think he has reverted, I think he is just touching it out.

I wouldn't be so quick to judge as he is playing hurt.

Calling for end of the bench players to "get burn" on Christmas Day against the lakers is a sign that you feel we are living in the land of the "not make the playoffs" Knicks.

We are in first place...we don't give guys burn for the goof. We want this win fellas. It was a playoff atmosphere.

I'm not going to make an excuses for Felton..I think he is shooting to much..Love the guy tho...I think it was one of those games to get people looks although DHow was prepared given all the lobs he saw the last game in NY...

Felton's pinky was dislocated and he came back in the game...

If in the pick and roll and the defender goes under the screen, the play calls for a shot. If Tyson is covered, the play calls for a shot.

I didn't see anything that indicated he was out of control or any different from games where his shot was falling (see heat game).

I've enjoyed this season and no longer complain after every bad game like before when we sucked and were looking for a starting lineup.

ThE scheme is what I'm focusing in and the interchangeable players in the scheme.

Seeing Kurt Thomas start does NOT mean Kurt Thomas is the top 5 player on the team. He's keeping that spot warm for a player to fit into that scheme (amare) same when Copland starts for melo.

Watch the games, check the plays, see where melo is and the other players around the pick and roll.

Shooting is the preferred play by the point guard and his hands are so bad he's sitting tonight.

He gets a pass.
