Loved watching that interview, it cleared up a few things too.

Shump seems a lot wiser since last year, and said he takes preparing himself a lot more seriously rather than just relying on his youth. Also said he's done a lot of corrective things (posture etc) which were putting more pressure on his knees last year. He looked a bit sad that he's lost his jumping ability for now, but hopes it will return, and from the clips of him working out it looks like he can still dunk the ball. Alos said he's done A LOT of shooting due to the rehab.

As for his return he said he's just waiting until the test results show that his strength in each knee matches, so I suppose it's just a matter of waiting for that day.

Can't wait to have him back- one of my favourite Knicks.

Shump is being tested by doctors right now- basically if the tests show equal strength in both knees, he's cleared to practice 5 on 5. He said on twitter he's never been so hyped about a trip to the dr's, so I guess he's optimistic. Hopefully we get the results in the next few hours!

Love this dude. Just exudes confidence without sounding too cocky.

Can't wait for the Knicks to sic Shumps on each team's best perimeter players this season.

I thought this part was especially encouraging.

”I don’t really have a timeframe; I just know I want to come back and not miss a beat. I don’t want to come back and be not up to par. I want to come back and make the proper adjustments and be able to come back and help. I don’t want to wear a knee brace or anything, just want to come back and keep rolling, don’t even want to think about it,” Shumpert emphatically stated.
