Knicks · Do the Knicks have a partying problem ? (page 3)

Wait, you guys didn't read what JR Smith said about quit partying in NYC? Maybe I'm old, but I remember Ewing mentioned in the documentary about how not partying in NYC is almost impossible. The Knicks players get free drugs, free booze, free entry to almost all night clubs and strip clubs. Even the women were free. Ewing had so much sex with so many ladies almost every night, just free hush pu**ies tossed at him, even if he were married. The coach sometimes had to fly the players out on off days to upstate or Connecticut to get away from all the partying madness.

When Kidd crashed his Escalade & hit the telephone pole before training camp started, he had to display a leadership quality when training camp started. Now as a veteran leader Kidd came to camp with a very serious attitude because everybody was watching him to see if that was just a fluke night on the town for old times sake being in the tri-state area.

This is why the rest of the team came together with the no-nonsense approach and we got off to a blistering 9-0 start. Now lately we see the team starting off sluggish, even JR was on fire with his all around game. But lately he's been showing some signs of his old folly, but still hustling for the next contract. Kidd's decision making has been suspect, but many overlook it because he brought so much cohesion to the team with his gutsy play.

Now I see him passing up open threes and making bonehead passes, that are so uncommon like for him even at 39. I will continue to monitor and hope it's just a fling with the alcohol and nothing to be worried about. Camby Rahweed and Kidd all came to New York to win, but if they didn't they would have a great time hanging in NYC . We shall see.

I don't know how mewell got in this thread

Think you have it only partially correct. Stern and the NBA are running mind control experiments to help promote boozing, partying, womanizing and drugs among Knick players. They had been testing it on JR for some time with some success, so Stern expanded the program to more on the Knicks roster. Stern does not like Dolan and does not want a winner in NYC.

Guys don't want to talk about this, they want everybody to play naive because NBA players are married! Just go back and read some of the lame post in denial about this. ROFL

1. What is the "lifestyle" of the average NBA player?

2. After Lin rejected the introduction via Landry Fields' hottie girlfriend, did he regret it, or beg Tim Tebow for forgiveness?

3. Is Rasheed Wallace any less a great family man because he irritates referees?

5. Has Steve Novak ever attended a party in New York? Nah. Never.

6. Carmelo and Amar'e are married. So is Tyson Chandler. Raymond Felton married to the love of his life, Adriane, in August. Eva Camby seems like a nice person. Pablo Prigioni's wife and children travelled with him to New York at the start of training camp.

They will all face problems like any other marriage faces problems.

How are their "moral standards" suspect?

He is our daddy like Woody is to JR.

So did the former knicks being married make any difference in the 90's when making it rain wasn't related to a weather balloon in ATLANTA STRIP CLUBS.

Amare Just got engaged I thoughtanywho.

Remember Mutumbo famous quote " I want somebody to sex me up " And this guy does great work building new hospitals in Africa and everything.

Party On

“I love this team”.

When I utter this phrase today, as I often do, I am not referring to my general love for the New York Knicks (the franchise). Instead, I am referring to the particular collection of players who make up this current Knicks team. JR, Cope, Novakaine, Shump, Prigs, Raybaby, Big Tys, Melo, Amare, Brew, Sheeeeed, Camby, Kurt, Kidd, and Flight White. Even professional Knicks fan, Baron Davis. Just read that list of players. Read it again. Ok, read it a third time. Have you found the weak link yet? That one player who you inexplicably can’t stand? Neither have I. For the first time in years – or eons depending on who you ask – the Knicks are a collection of highly capable and likeable characters.

Every player brings their unique affability and talent: Shump’s rapping flat-top, JR’s salsa beaters, Copeland’s adorable offensive explosions, Prigioni’s nifty hands and complete failure to communicate in anything vaguely resembling English. With exception of the occasional Felton or Brewer shooting disaster, a Novlacking defensive effort, or Sheed ball don’t lying from downtown for the 12th time in a night, I have confidence in any and every player’s ability to make a positive contribution on the court. (I would have said Kurt Thomas worries me, but his recent string of baby J’s from the elbow has me partying like its 1998)

Even if we don’t win it all this year, I am forever thankful to Glen Grunwald, of all people, for finally putting together a team I genuinely enjoy watching. With only a couple of championships to our name, rooting for the Knicks has mostly been about rooting for great players: Ewing, Frazier, Oakley, Reed, Starks, Jackson, Debusschere, Houston, Bradley, The Pearl, Bernard and Guerin, among others. After ten seasons of nameless and irrelevant players, its nice to finally root for a group of Knicks we can be proud of again.

And it's only going to get worse once Amare, Shumps and Felton get back to full speed.

Jeremy Lin doesn't practice the lifestyle of the avg NBA player different moral standards.

Each NBA player should be judged by their individual behavior. Not some perceived generic "lifestyle" that you suggest. At the core, the only "lifestyles" worth caring about are the lifestyles of the Knicks on the court. Their personal lives are their business. So long as they are obeying the law, their good works via foundations, appearances and athletic entertainment value tend to counterbalance any juicy gossip or negative mini-drama. If they are not compelling to follow, one can always change the channel.

If any one of them shows up hung over, late, high or with no energy - guess what happens?

They take a seat.

Partying problem?

If you think any Knicks player has a partying problem, name him and cite recent evidence to support that claim. I listed the current players in committed relationships as a counter and because advanced age has its advantages. Older guys do not "party". They are too busy getting some extra rest.

Know what kind of problem the Knicks have?

The Knicks have a winning problem.

Thank goodness we are not the Lakers.
