Knicks · GAME THREAD: KNICKS VS MAGIC @MSG 7:30 (page 1)

gunsnewing @ 1/29/2013 8:01 PM
Should be able to handle the Magic decisively. Even the Nyets are 4-0 against them this year

With the current lite schedule, its a good time to start developing some cohesion and for guys to figure out their roles now that the Knicks are getting healthy. Need to hit the ground running and get geared up for a brutal late Feb/March schedule.

Knicks win 116-87

2-17 since dec 21st..as a matter of fact, they were on a 7 game losing streak the last time we played them..there 2 wins came against the clippers and pacers, figure that one out!!

We're on the verge of playing 7 games during only an 11 day span. It's so important to our Knicks postseason chances and/or potential postseason seeding that we catch fire during our next 7 games. The race is way too close as of right now. If we were to go 7-0 or even 6-1? We really have a chance of creating some distance in regards to opposing teams such as Chicago (1.0), Brooklyn (1.5), Indy (2.5), Atlanta (3.0) and Milwaukee (3.5). Then theirs Boston who's currently 7.0 games of our Knicks. Without Rondo too. We can't forget to mention Miami when talking postseason race(s) either, because they're only 1.5 games ahead of our Knicks for first place of the entire Eastern Conference.

During the next 11 days from January 30th to February 10th:

MIA: 7 games - @ Brooklyn, @ Indy, @ Toronto, vs. Charlotte, vs. Houston, vs. Clippers & vs. Lakers.

NYK: 7 games - vs. Orlando, vs. Milwaukee, vs. Sacramento, vs. Detroit, @ Washington, @ Minnesota & vs. Clippers.

CHI: 6 games - @ Milwaukee, @ Brooklyn, @ Atlanta, @ Pacers, @ Denver & @ Utah.

BKN: 6 games - vs. Miami, vs. Chicago, vs. Lakers, @ Detroit, @ Washington & vs. San Antonio.

INDY: 6 games- vs. Detroit, vs. Miami, vs. Chicago, vs. Atlanta, @ Philly & vs. Toronto.

ATL: 5 games - vs. Toronto, vs. Chicago, @ Indy, vs. Memphis & vs. New Orleans.

MIL: 6 games - vs. Chicago, @ New York, vs. Chicago, @ Denver, @ Jazz & vs. Pistons.

Only time will tell, so there's no use of arguing over what the Knicks will go during our next 7 games/11 days. But one thing is for sure, if the Knicks were to god forbid go 7-0, or even 6-1? We could then be in strong position heading into our final 33 ball games. These next 7 games are very important in regards to moving forward. Our Knicks have, by far, the easiest games/opponent(s) of any teams listed above. We must respond with winning basketball. Win after win is a must during our 7 games in only 11 days/nights.

Now that we (finally) have our core nucleus in Raymond Felton, Jason Kidd (probable vs. ORL) , Iman Shumpert, Carmelo Anthony, Tyson Chandler, J.R Smith, Amar'e Stoudemire, Steve Novak and even Pablo Prigioni/Chris Copeland all healthy at the same time? I like our chances during each and every game. Against any opponent too. If Kidd plays tonight, this will become our first night in which we've featured all of Felton, Shumpert, Melo, Stoudemire, Chandler, J.R, Kidd, Novak, Pablo and/or Copeland during the same game.

It may take some time, and we're still without the likes of veteran big's such as Kurt Thomas, Rasheed Wallace and Marcus Camby; but I really like our chances. We're deeper than we've ever been all of 2012-2013 heading into Orlando. If only Ronnie Brewer could begin to provide us with some of that Chicago Bull defense on the perimeter.

Apparently I was wrong about the non-existence of a Woody home for dogs.
Copeland is in it. Explains his lack of playing time of late.

I think it was at the end of an espn or NYPost article about Cope not pushing hard enough on D in practice.

Proof postive that Woody is not MDA! [I know, really lousy bait, but hey, the gawddam sun aint even up yet]

Cope plays bad defense and now Amar'e and Shump are back. It will be harder for Woody to play Cope while ignoring his bad defense since there are more options available now at the forward spot.

Lets not blow this one- heat and nets are playing so we have a chance to either gain on the Heat, or put a little more distance between us and the nets. Magic came out shooting great vs us in the last game (doesn't every team!), and I don't want to see Jameer Nelson embarrassing us again.

Lets try and get on a winning streak!

The Pacers also play the Pistons. Hawks play the Raptors and Chicago plays the Bucks. We must beat Orlando on this day.

I may hate the Nets as a franchise, but I'll be pulling for a Nets victory over Miami tonight. I don't want the Atlantic Division (Nets), I want the entire Eastern Conference (Miami). Therefore, I'm pulling for a Miami loss tonight.

A Knicks and Nets win along with a Miami loss and we're only .5 games back of Miami and still 1.5 games ahead of Brooklyn.

Kidd out. James White starting

James white always seems to give the impression that he's holding back or not pushing himself- don't know whether he actually is or not, but I'd like to see him give us a bit more than he has.

CashMoney @ 1/30/2013 5:39 PM
Melo is going to slack it tonight. He'll be done playing at sometime in the 3rd quarter and will sit for the rest of the game smiling and clapping his hands. Tomorrow there will be a 15 page thread discussing that Melo's a slacker since he only played 3 quarters.

Can't wait. I have missed several games recemtly and I am glad the Knicks are playing at a normal time and I can watch it. This could be a tough game. You have to assume that after 6 losses Orlando is desperate.

He's done ok. Unlike Brewer he actually hits open shots. He plays good D but commits stupid fouls. Woodson however is quick to pull him for JR

It could be a dangerous game. Orlando does have some quality wins thus year.

Good question. I checked gamepicker because his name always shows up cos he's good at picking games but I don't see him. He hasn't posted in weeks

gunsnewing @ 1/30/2013 7:05 PM
Why is Shumpert starting at SF and White at SG? Makes no sense. Reddick is Orlando's best perimeter player.

Maybe MSG just have it mixed up. White should be on Harkless

OGkush121 @ 1/30/2013 7:29 PM
C'mon Knicks!
You can, and you will do this :)
not winning this game is unacceptable
