Knicks · Coach Woodson must remove Jason Kidd from the starting lineup as soon as possible. (page 1)

NYKMentality @ 2/22/2013 4:53 PM
We're all seeing it. And we all understand that Shumpert's returning from ACL surgery, we're not trying to throw Shumpert into the line of fire but at the same time, Shumpert has started all 14 games, but at the SF position. Lets slide Carmelo back to his natural postion of SF while moving Shumpert down to the 2G position. At this point, I'm willing to start either J.R Smith or even James White at 2G if Woodson's not ready to slide Shumpert down to the 2G position.

All of this is a moot point, but we need Jason Kidd on the bench sooner rather than later. During Kidd's previous 10 games he's only put up 21 points. Hasn't scored a single point during his previous 2 games. Only 3 points during his previous 3 games. Has only averaged 2.1 points, 1.9 assists, 2.5 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 21.1 minutes per game during his previous 10 games. Has only shot 7/39 during his previous 10 games.

This is unacceptable from a starting 2G.

It's time to see Felton, Shumpert, Melo, Stoudemire and Chandler as our starting 5.

If Woodson's not ready to start Stoudemire at PF then go with Felton, Shumpert, Melo, Kurt Thomas and Tyson Chandler.

If we're trying to keep Kurt Thomas rested for the postseason, then go with Felton, Shumpert, Copeland at SF, Melo and Chandler.

I'm even willing to watch us go with Felton, White, Shumpert, Melo and Chandler.

Man, we could even get better production going with Felton, Shumpert, Novak, Melo and Chandler.

But, Kidd only averaging 2.1 points, 1.9 assists, 2.5 boards and 1.1 steals during 21.1 minutes per game during his previous 10 games, along with only 7/39 during his past 10 games? It's hurting us. I'm a supporter of Woodson, but he needs to bench Jason Kidd and give our offense a much better chance at success moving forward.

U can't remove the mvp and Felton's life coach.

He is supposed to be thinking about it but Berman tweeted earlier in the day that he wasn't changing the lineup because the raps play small ball.

That's a bad excuse though man. We can still go small ball. Move J.R Smith to 2G for crying out loud. Can still have Shumpert and Melo as our SF/PF's. J.R is best suited coming off the bench, but still, J.R's averaging more minutes of any player outside of Melo and Felton. We need a spark starting off games. Or even a chance. And we're not getting it from Kidd. We need to go another direction and I'm not sure why Woodson's not making it happen like right now, right now.

playa2 @ 2/22/2013 5:05 PM
Woodson loyalties are with the guys who are listened to the most and has the most influence in the locker room.

It's called job security, if that's not the reason everything he's doing now doesn't make sense.

Don't see him changing anything tonight. Kmart is not ready. Neither is Camby or Sheed

I remember the days when posters would question the players leadership for not asking to sit.
Knixkik @ 2/22/2013 5:29 PM
When we were having so much success early in the season, Smith would be in the lineup a lot in place of Brewer. Not starting, but always finishing. Smith is struggling and so are the Knicks. With amare off the bench it wouldn't hurt to try Smith starting just to mix it up and try to get Smith back into rhythm. The argument early in the season for not starting Smith was needing his spark off the bench. That shouldn't be a problem with Amare is there.

I can agree with this.

GodSaveTheKnicks @ 2/22/2013 5:37 PM
Felton, Shumpert, Copeland at SF, Melo and Chandler

and we have a winner

maybe sub Kidd in to give Felton a rest.

Kidd, Shumpert or JR, Copeland, Melo. Chandler

Shump or JR guards the quick PGs.
Kidd guards the SG>

gunsnewing @ 2/22/2013 5:39 PM
Copeland's defense is arguably worse than Novak

Wait til Kmart/Camby/Sheed is ready then start Amare

Same starting 5 tonight.

Hopefully Kidd can at least contribute if he's not able to score. 0 points during our last 2 games? 3 points during our past 3 games? It's bad in regards to Kidd and could be even worse that Woodson's got the happy feat and/or scared to make a move in replace of Kidd. Great coaches adjust, and Woodson's not adjusting... Come on Kidd, give us something.

gunsnewing @ 2/22/2013 5:46 PM
Amare is going to start once Kmart, Camby or Sheed are ready to backup Tyson

I'm down with that. But I believe that Martin, Camby and Sheed are more important to our potential success moving forward when compared to a Kurt Thomas. Might as well use Kurt Thomas while he's ready/healthy in order to avoid using Kidd so much (as of right now).

C: Chandler.
PF: Kurt Thomas.
SF: Carmelo Anthony.
2G: Iman Shumpert.
PG: Raymond Felton.

Anything to get Kidd out of the lineup. This isn't about Amar'e as of right now. I mean, if Kidd's only starting due to the fact that Stoudemire's not ready to start as of right now, then Woodson needs to pull some strings and switch it up.

I'll keep an extra eye on Kidd tonight, but I haven't enjoyed what I've seen as of late in regards to Kidd.

Kurt is too slow. JR and Iman should have been starting. Just cut the bull and go with a good line up. In the future of all the bigs I hope Wallace comes back healthy. His post game is needed and fits with Amar'e to give Chandler a break. Kmart I feel will step in like the Birdman has but he is a better all around defender.

So Woody says he's not going to tolerate our unprofessionalism...who believes him?

Well, I do believe Woodson's a man of character along with being a man of his word. The problem lies where he's scared to make a move. Scared to bench Kidd. Scared to shuffle the rotation around. But I don't believe he talks, just to say things. He didn't accept unprofessionalism when J.R had his shorts sagging. Just one example. He takes pride in defense, but he can only coach. Can't defend himself.

I mean, we have gone 50-25 under Woodson (during the regular season) dating back to last season against Portland. I'm not ready to run this man out of town.

Guys such as Raymond Felton, Pablo, Jason Kidd, Ronnie Brewer (and now Kenyon Martin), James White, Chris Copeland, Kurt Thomas, Rasheed Wallace and Marcus Camby weren't even with our Knicks last season. Thats 9/10 players in which weren't with coach Woodson or our Knicks last season. Then you have guys such as Shumpert and Amar'e who were, but have also been out for most of the season here in 2012-2013.

It's a work in progress, but I just feel he's being gun shy in regards to moving Kidd out of the starting lineup.

IronWillGiroud @ 2/22/2013 6:48 PM
Let's stop being stupid as a team,

Start this lineup:

Center, Tyson
Power Forward, Amar'e
Small, Carmelo Anthony
Shooting Guard, JR Swagthang
Point Guard, Ray Felton

back them up with,

Kidd the Sixth Man
Shumpert Lock it Down
Novak Drain it
Pablo Sheed Cambyman, The Grizzled Spot Check

The simpler the better, let's do the basics first before we get creative, I think this team needs a wake up

GustavBahler @ 2/22/2013 7:12 PM
Would rather see Kidd on the bench than worn out by the time the playoffs come around. That's where he should get his minutes back.

Papabear Says

Kidd just might get mad and really start drinking Maybe Smith is back in the clubs Maybe Melo is having marriage problems
