Knicks · sadly, time to cut this lemon 'loose' called Amare Stoudemire. NY need not to wait to get out of contract (page 1)

DJMUSIC @ 2/23/2013 8:30 AM

The Amare Stout experient needs shelving, I Feel for Amare but he is neither tough
not even a true PowerForward as far as attitude and his ability to be a force in the paint for few points OR rebounds.

All in all call it the NY Knickerbockers 'Lemon law', yes cutting Amare Or trying desperately to shop him in off season
on next yr, until he goes away is very very difficult & near impossible.

But We need to start addressing some of our woes outside Carmelo Anthony, and at least to Melo is gone OR
will still be hear with help equalling a LEGIT #2 bonafide Star/superstar player whom can take over a game at least 85-99%
of the time when MELO is way off his game, then Knickerbocker franchise is fooling themselves as far as championship dreams
or even chasing NBA division titles.

Amare been a good trooper, mostly kept quiet and no wonder worked harder to overcome his physical woes at his younger age then
I commend him for coming to NY & making us relevant in terms of other NBAers wanting to try coming to knickerbockers.

However its still about game of basketball no simpler than that! Even if we admit we cant ever NEVER get old STOUT
a piece of STOUT Or 50% of old' Amare play is BETTER than none, we're not even getting close to that! I Aint going to fully
blame our lame PG play again which isnt Amare's fault.

Amare isnt tough, emotionally he's up & down often too soft to really focus on doing anything such as scrapping for a loose ball
out BIGGING smaller PFs such as David West & Boozer, Amare can't pass well and for a guy over 6' 8 OR 6 9' tall HE dont rebound
enough for me at least 9-11 boards so we can say he's a 'really good rebounder'.

The Hakeem summer camp project helped us see few of his low post nice moves once in awhile but often,
the paint gets rough and tough and you need to be fierce & Amare isnt fierce NOR Imposing or trys to be FORCEFUL enough
with his big body to punish. Stoudemire often plays PF like he's a 6'4 Shooting guard.

Amare is an albatross around Knicks org. similar to AllanHouston #20 during poor knicks decline yrs, I aint a fool to blame
all this on Amare its not his fault he's got bad back and bad knees. But you cant teach defense and re-invention which many
NBAers before Amare has similar such as B.King and even in NFL but came back & kinda re-invented few things to figure out their
place in their profession/sport.

Respectively, Amare Stout don't seem able to figure this out to find a place on court to be a force On Knicks needs or
even in leadership. Stout cant board consistent, cant score consistent & in the paing, cant defend period, cant be tough & resilient, cant pass, cant block enough shots to change a game, cant more importantly CANNOT be legit #2 scorer star/threat
Period! *write it in stone

So get rid of him ! The 100$million being hear for next 2 seasons is a farce & I dont want that!

As a main knick fan as many on this board I cannot stand it anymore, NY Knicks wont do it but I'd be ok with cutting him or letting NY Find a taker to even part partial of his $contract so over the next 1 yr or so we can search for:

1) Legit #2 valid star/superstar and pay them multiyr contract to see what help Melo Anthony will get
and how it may change Knicks fortunes

2) Legit PG or star PG in the making,
we neither have a top PG OR a top #2 legit star option

Tired of JR Smith
Tired of Raymond Felton

Both of these guys can go to hell, We're better off giving Copeland a chance to develop and worry bout his D' over summer camp
and at least until we get opportunity for legit 2nd person to aid Knicks/Melo. At least Chris Copeland can score inside & out with
a perimeter shot with > avg pct. as numbers indicate when he is given chance he can score OR get to basket to draw fouls cause of
his height and youth athleticism.

Tire also of Coach Mike Woodson, let him play out the season but Woody whom I support is turning out to be a worst coach
than MDA, at least during bad bad stretches MDA would test different lineups and also test different things, even bench a starter

What has woodson done to bench a starter ? bench Ronnie Brewer ? whom was screwed by Woodson as a starter scapegoat and if
unless I'm stupid as poor as few of Brewer games been as SG/SF when he started when he was a knicks didn't Knicks have a better record? or winning more & playing a more complete game with Brewer in lineups ?

The stupid coach never went back to this guy & god bless Brewer going to OKC the kid deserves to be with a real winner,

We can learn alot from what Knicks are doing wrong these days,
Just watch coach Woodson!

You can't get rid of him DJ, nobody will want his contract, not even if it was an expiring contract. Jimmy Dolan made sure of that when he signed the check. He's here to stay and collect, just like sooooo many others: H20, Grandma, Eddy Curry.... the list goes on and on. Jimmy Dolan is good at that, collecting awesome players beyond their prime with max contracts. He's sooo good at that even David Stern was speechless when asked about Jimmy.
CashMoney @ 2/23/2013 12:51 PM
We tried to give him away and no one would bite. He's playing his contract out here in NYC.
BRIGGS @ 2/23/2013 12:55 PM
Amare is a good player--hes just never going to be a 25-8 player again. Accept 15-5 in 25 minutes--if we push him--we wont have him. I do not think Amare is a problem spot on this team in the role he is in. Hes a helper--you saw it last night.
gunsnewing @ 2/23/2013 12:59 PM
He can start and play 25mins a night for the rest of his Knick career

The interesting thing last night was him and Melo were playing great together last night leading to retaking the lead in the 4th then Woodson took Amare out for Tyson who gave them some blocks but the offense went south again and we lost.

Can Tyson & Amare coexist? We will soon find out

One thing is for sure the offense is a chuck fest when Melo is your only scoring option

Exactly.

Vmart @ 2/23/2013 1:18 PM
I feel Amare can give 20-8. He needs to start and 30-35 mins a game. Also needs to finish games too. Last night should have finished the game that on Woody who basically gave the game to the Raptors.
callmened @ 2/23/2013 3:01 PM
Im not an amare fan but i realize we cant get rid of him. No one wants him. Teams might take him in 2014 when hes an expiring contract

We need Amare's scoring. He is eating 20 million in cap space. We NEED him to produce for us.

Amare may used to be a good player & he's a winner offcourt
but PF ? C ?

He isnt a Power-forward he's a No-Power Forward or a weak forward
he barely gets the 4-5 boards a game, he is suppose to be a force at PF
and he cant even do that. I aint talking about dunking, its the tangibles a PF does

a tough needed Rebound in traffic to limit foe opposition to 1 missed shot
a tough block or disruptive action on Defense to bother opposing forwards or centers
a paint presence when a tough basket is needed to VOID the million shot-attempts when NY is already down by 1 dozen > or great points
draw a foul ? what's that ?

Isnt that what a PF suppose to do ? Amare cant even guard the weaker Centers with no name, no stardom,
Amare could not even do this in his glamour phoenix days before his back issues & recent knees decline

As I said I get it he is staying around cause of $contract & it aint all his fault
but he cannot even be a solid #3 option NOR 4th option for offense and consistent dependable scoring unless the darn game
is already out of hand & knicks aint coming back in the first place

I dont know about you guys but I aint used to it ! as a PF

Mase and Oakley was 2 PFs without the talent of Amare Stout
and played the position & brought something to the table & game even if Mase and Oak had poor games.

LJ at undersized PF/F/SF with same critical bad back probs which led him out of game re-invented himself
and even he at PF Larry Johnson was 10x the forward/PF Amare could ever dream about.

Amare is not at fault but he stays here and what ? Knicks gonna please him for his part of scheme in the offense
and whatever knicks trying to do. That is my point you got guys on this Knick team whom not even fulfilling their roles

We' cant wait forever,
We aint winning nothing ..until the 3 yr contracts are gone. I dont like it!

The Knickerbockers are very disappointing bunch now & such a great start as a winning team
this team isnt good in 2013 & that about sums it up, regardless of 2 1/2 dozen games NY has left to play out.

They aint fixing being built for NBA playoffs in the playoffs
its foolish for some to post Knicks are built for playoffs and NY cant fix anything in current season

Its absurd,
Your bad habits seen by the league aint going to get better cause of post season
No nah nah nope!

DJMUSIC @ 2/23/2013 5:08 PM
Knicks basically have no legit #2
star

Simple as that ain't no rocket science. While Melo help roster squad gets WORSE teams like Rockets in West, Indiana & Bulls in easy
help roster gets BETTER and better as season goes on. Each of teams I mentioned has a legit #2 guy beside their primary main #1 star.

I was 150% wrong on Jeremy Lin, bad at season start struggled & he gets it and Rockets soon will have better record than NY with that squad roster.
Imagine that ?.

We thought we can do it by committee with JR , Raymond Felton & Amare and JKidd

This isnt going to happen & to me no use in the summer to go in another season thinking Amare, JR Smith, JKidd can help as #2 consistently
to take over a game when Melo is off in his play /scoring. NY need to cut ties with 2 of 3 I mentioned and seriously get a legit #2 star or close
in here Or 2013/2014 is gonna be a worse season , since we seen very BEST & WORST of Carmelo Anthony of Knickerbockers

callmened @ 2/23/2013 6:49 PM
This team is flawed but can still have some success (2nd rd playoffs). I think this team could improve next yr if we brought in younger role players. After next season they will break up the team.

You can demand to get rid of amare but hes staying for the near future.

Syniko @ 2/23/2013 7:05 PM
Nobody wants Amare. You couldn't trade him for a pile of firewoods.
CrushAlot @ 2/23/2013 7:43 PM
Memo to Mike D. YOu can't ride a guy like Secretariat if he has uninsureable knees.

perfectly stated mr guns!

Tyson is killing us with the offensive flow. That is probably why coach k stayed away from him a lot in the olymps

Amare should become a jump shooting 4 from the elbow and become automatic, so then it would open up his drive to the basket with his quick 1st step.

I agree. I don't think he has that mindset although the work with Hakeem is promising. He still seems to want to be ferocious around the basket. I actually think the pick and roll with Prigs and Cope is better than with Amare. Maybe its a chemistry thing but Amare and Prigs should be unstoppable if Amare is close to healthy.
IronWillGiroud @ 2/23/2013 11:54 PM
I'm just saying that when the new cba was agreed and the amnesty offered, they were all calling it the amar'e clause,

the smart move would have been to amnesty amar'e, but ownership couldn't admit their mistake,

it's like everyone knew amar'e would fall apart before his knicks deal was through, but guys were hoping the reality of the situation would just float away and not come to fruition
