No team has ever said Delonte was a bad teammate, the players everywhere loved him for his effort and heart in games.

And there is zero proof that the rumor even happened, quit falling for the soap.

The teammates may not have said it but the multiple suspensions for "conduct detramental to the team" says it loud and clear.

Let's face it our gm had a horrible offseason. Felton was a solid for the money, but outside of that, Novak is useless, Camby is a joke, Kidd can barely move and Pable brings little to nothing to the table.

We had to sign Kenynon Martin to solidfy our bench and we have 3 guys that never get in the game. At this point the Knicks gave up on the future to win now. So as much of a problem as West is we really need him right now. He brings toughness and scoring, two things we need greatly. And it would behouve the Knicks to shut kidd down to keep him fresh for the playoffs. Woodsen ran him into the ground and if he's not careful the same thing will happen with chandler.

If they want to beat the Heat, why not add more perimeter defense and someone that can make plays for the second unit.

Just curious, what would you have done?
Knicksfan @ 3/1/2013 12:48 PM
The man can sign them, but sure can't guarantee they last a season.

Grunny did a very good job. He may have considered a fer healthy young bodies over the guys he got, but he had no control over Novak crashing down to earth, Kidd breaking down, Camby going back to his first Knick days and Pablo... I still think he is better than his reputation on this board.

Kidd was a solid sign that unfortunately has turned sour for the moment, but oh how great he looked early. We felt so lucky to have him. I still hope Camby can give us half a season and a great playoff run, so the book isn't closed on him yet.

Now, I do believe that considering our position for the moment, we need to be more aggressive and strengthen our weakest positions: guard and bigs.

MS @ 3/1/2013 1:00 PM
He had no control over Novak? Did you watch the playoffs? The guy when guarded can't score. He doesn't defend or rebounded and he gave him a 4 year 16MM deal. That's embarrassing.

Kidd is great for leadership, but a three year deal? Same with Camby? That 10MM in year three on three guys that won't play.

I thought CJ Watson and Reggie Evans would have been solid, the birdman would have been good for backing up tyson. Maybe Randy Foye, he went really old across the board.

Non of those guys were attainable. But for the rcord those guy we signed were done with exception that we have every season.

Camby is actually a two year deal, not three, the third year he has no control of.

How does a GM, that everybody said should get GM of the year back in November, is now having a terrible offseason.

You have to put some of this blame on the coach, the players and bad luck.

It doesn't matter how many so called solid players you add to the team. It's up to the coach as the motivator to play these guys and get them ready each game. Find a system that maximizes your tallent. The GM did a good job adding veteran talent. The Kenyon Martin pickup was solid too.....

It's the coach that has the toughest job trying to blend all this together.

If you want to improve our bench, you have to put Shump in there....and play Kenyon Martin more.

But as far as defense goes, Knicks team doesn't scare anybody....1st or 2nd unit!

blkexec @ 3/1/2013 1:33 PM
Without Shump or Stat.....Knicks had the best defense and ball movement out of all NBA teams.

Somehow we got away from both....

CJ Watson signed for the minimum so he was definitely attainable. Personally, I would have resigned Lin, not picked up Felton or Kidd, and signed Camby with the MLE. That would have allowed us to hold on to the assets we traded for Camby and Felton to either make another, better trade down the road or hold onto to help us.

Camby wanted more than MLE, which is why his first year salary is over 4.5 mil, and to keep those assets you're referring to would have meant the team would have had to pick to sign them....Jorts and Gadz in particular were unguaranteed up to a certain date.

So basically you'd been content with two unproven guards running your backcourt. while holding on to TD?

There'd be no shame in getting James White in the game. Isn't that why he was brought here? Or is he a "practice player?"

I will still maintain that WOODSON Blew it ..for Brewer the quite role player earlier SG/SF starter

Did it once occur to Woodson that when Knicks was rollin 18-5 & getting intangible productions
From Ronnie Brewer that Brew was perhaps the 2nd best Defender starter for min. played only
Behind top defender Tyson, while Woody preached defense from last seas. success

The minute few teams adjusted to knicks & Ny slumped , even Brewer whose FG Drop & had woes
In his shooting game Brewer was the 1st casualty & all of sudden the 25plus min went to 0 & Woody
Flipped his philosophy 'Oh our defense needed to get better but when it did our offense is issue'.

All of sudden Ronnie could not be on floor no shots/offense & his D suffered as if rest of knicks casts was
Defending in 1st place even prior to Amare return.

The knix had success with Brewer doin things that don't show in boxscore but didn't get 2nd chance, same as we see with Copeland who can't D but can score & can't get on the floor for his ability to put hoops in & draw few fouls

Tired of Woodson, he better win 1st rnd playoff OR he'll exit with the Knicks

Jorts would currently be our best backup big man, we could have just let Gadzuric leave, replacing Felton and Kidd with Lin and TD would be an improvement, and CJ Watson signed for the minimum so we could have gone after him as well.

I dont really get this article. If the 2nd unit is so bad, do they really think playing White, Cope, and Kurt is gonna put on the Clippers level?
mrKnickShot @ 3/1/2013 4:34 PM
That second unit scares me, though I am a short little white guy.
