Carmelo, to play or not to play?

Don't disturb this groove.

Carmelo needs to play when and only when he feels good. No rush. He's got Denver circled on his calendar. I'm cool if he sits until then.

markvmc @ 3/6/2013 10:51 PM
There some reason he needs to play against Denver?

Ok is the right expression.

Okay is what we need Marcus Camby to be in April, after a month of gaining his sea legs in March

It's all about our big men

It's all about our coach knowing when to go big against small lineups.

fishmike - ahh... so if DK calls him soft or a fake tough guy its comments like "lynch his black ass" but if Woody makes the same knocks on his game its tough love. Got it.

fish.mike - the context of the quote was offered as historical context for the moments when a man is perceived guilty before any assumption of innocence. That is how innocent black men were lynched as entertainment. (A sincere apology to the forum for the history lesson)

For the record, JR Smith has his warts, but to label him a thug is both false by definition... and has nothing to do with his basketball skill set, or lack thereof.

Q fish mike: what happened to that hold everyone accountable if they dont defend thing?

A. Same thing that happens every marathon basketball season. You go through peaks and valleys. The fact the Knicks have a veteran roster could translate into an instinct between meaningful games and when the games count double... ie The Playoffs. In mid April, no one will care what happened in March.

All of the cynical comments will be sawdust if our beloved team rallies with Marcus Camby providing much needed defensive support. We have missed our 6'11 crew more than you may want to admit. Mike Woodson cannot block a shot or grab a rebound. He is just a head coach. Not a puppeteer.

If it all implodes and we are eliminated in the first round, no big deal. The Answer Man will still be at Jazz Fess in New Orleans. It is always big fun to run into Knicks fans wearing NY gear on the fairgrounds

Life go on.

Worth a reprint!

One should never apologize for history lessons. If we do not learn from history, we are destined to repeat it. Don't make me suffer through another IT error!

Better than ok

My only concern is our frontcourt which is pretty much injured right now. tyson and k-mart will play we all know that. I think Thomas and Sheed could come back in the first round, Camby is a waste and Amare probably wont come back until the second round

See? And no regrets, MSG3. Re-reading this thread made me smile.

Health and the ability to sustain good shooting are the biggest questions. Defense is average. Hopefully the D has a playoff gear, but most likely our offense is going to have to win for us every night in the playoffs.

They already announced Chandler and KMart are out against Chicago tomorrow. Which is fine. Just take the rest of the season off. Maybe a cameo against the Pacers Sunday. Just get healthy and get ready for war a week from Saturday.

Hahaha...I believe I posted that regret comment the few seconds after Melo went down in Cleveland, which looked like something far more serious at the time. Also, we were down by about 25 at that point. To my credit, right afterwards I still said I felt ok as long as Melo was ok.

Thats is a good idea we need our big men rested/healthy. Camby better do something in the playoffs because we paid him a good amount of money and gave up some picks and so far has done nothing. K-Mart has been 10 times better and cheaper.

Glad Tyson is sitting. I was pretty sure Woodson would throw him out there against the Bulls. The fact that Tyson asked out of the last game worries me a bit.
