Knicks · Sorry sometimes Coach must be a hero OR 6th man,W/L test Woody passe Otherwise MW becomes epic-fail NYK v2.0: (page 1)

HOWEVER.......

When do u draw line where coach got to be hero with play calling OR coach gotta
Be 6th man with vital move & execution by players at times? Sometimes you win few & sometimes not,
Fans would have accepted a drive to basket OR quick pass closer to the basket for Amare OR some pressure
On better basket attempt even if contact made & refs do not make a call at end to decide a 1point game.

The OKC is marvelous team, talent as Coach Woody praised but Mike was also satisfied at losing 1pt game & I am sorry but that pi_ssed me off!

Fans all know bout Durant, Westbrook & STUD Serge he is splendid PF did alot & does great strides as entire OKC
Team has achieved to be elite.

BUT.. this aint about Serge or OKC

As Knick coach YOU DRAW up 1 play 7-8sec left & you call it one way with no alternatives for the
Other scorer guy Amare stout & that 1 play with 7-8sec left plenty of time You do
Not go to the basket OR even option call for a pass? To pressure OKC. All 2nd half STOUT punished OKC PFs & by himself got Serge into foul trouble at 5fouls.

YA know what? If this was Pat Riley Or JVG or even Phil J. Or Popovich Or Doc Rivers these coaches They'd tell guy with the ball which was JR to go strong to hoop OR YOU'll be $fined privately..! And mean it ! ! !

Amare got shots blocked & slow start 1st half but punished OKC & got ny back in game in 2nd half by inside presence drawing fouls galore on Ibaka & whomever OKC threw at Stoudemire.

Nyk fans would have lived with penetration & a shot, a pass or missed attempt to inside of basket even if no ref call fouls.. which never usually decide a game.

Smart fans will NEVER ever live with a fade turn away heave jumper in a 1pt game with OKC defenders in your face & DJ FAIRLY Blames Coach Mike Inept Woodson I dont care what he cited On post game Or remarks he told JR to do, Woody drew that failure as an ISO play same as he does for MELO The woodson way to win on ISOs & 3POINT shot attempts

Woodson has become a predictable guy more stubborn than MDA, he is to blame for Garden losees & lack of consistency to establish an identity for our Knicks movin forward.

I wont cut Mike any slack.. he lost this OKC game where Westbrook got poorer in 2nd half & he let that team dictate any thing that led to another loss at home.

*Pathetic KNICK lead coaching.. its a trait now with Woodson & no one will change my mind
Respectively...the NY slide at poor home games (except OKC this was a great Knick game played last nite) is the inability of coach to dictate any useful set on the floor. OKC went small Woodson goes small. That is brains! & this is Our Knick coach
Whom laments "We are still trying to figure this thing out! ' stubbornly the Woodson way.

Sad
Ya know what is comin' & got to watch it & hope NY be lucky to win one of these cause of coaching blunders all the time

JR Smith missed. End of story.

Woodson puts guys in the position to succeed.

Really? ...Really, really? 100 pro good coaches would have not called that play,
If MELO & JR was STILL a Denv. Nugget & similarly if MELO was out not even George Karl AIN'T callin ISO thru JR for last 7-8sec a near eternity in time to run plays in 1point game and you should know that, ALL knick fans know

PREDICTABLE NY single option,
That wasnt a play 25 foot fade not lookin at basket.. without putting any offensive pressure on the defense,
Put an ISO play for JR with someone on your back? That is a lame post response as bad as a Woodson called play end of story!

You're over thinking this. 7 seconds left. The ref isn't going to bail you out versus OKC, sorry keep dreaming. JR Smith had the hot hand and he choked.

What lost us the game was Felton not executing in the last 2 minutes. That TO was costly. But yea lets focus Woodson's play with 7 seconds on the clock.

misterearl wrote:So, which coach gets the blame for Starks shooting slump in Houston with a championship ring on the line?

Riley blamed himself and admitted he effed up. I think Woodson did a good job yesterday.

Hate to have U coaching NY

You go to the basket son::
Fans would live with the result & accept

You dont close 1 basket game with time on the clock with a jumper 25 feet & low pct. Shot, fading falling? Away of all things
Cant believe i'm having this conversation

OF COURSE if 2 -3 ticks on clock YOUD shoot or get fast shot up needing to win game

You're making NO sense & pleeeeeesssseeee Do not take coach Mike Woodson off the hook & da books
... he is in it with his players, you win & lose as a team its about HOW YA do it.

Same mediocre acceptance of results is same crap we all hear from Jets & Mets fans philosophies

This was a winable game & I'm gonna run my mouth bout' Coach Woodson til' Kingdom come!

Truth is if JR Smith had driven to the basket and missed you would have complained the coach didn't draw up a play to get JR Smith a good open look.

Who's talking about the refs bailing us out? Running an iso play where the player with the ball never even moves is the easiest play in the world to defend. By doing anything else you put pressure on the other team to make a defensive play.

callmened wrote:I have NO problem with the ISO play call for JR...he was our best play and he was HOT...but im mad at that SHOT selection...a fadeaway giong to his left...smh

He wasn't hot, JR went 2-9 in the 4th quarter.

AnubisADL wrote:JR Smith is not a very good at finishing through contact at the rim. The refs were not going to bail us out. That bad shot was a good shot for JR Smith.

BINGO! Ya got drive to hoop if you read my prior 2 response show plain english
I Clearly simply stated fans/DJ would live with result.. even if contact & NO REF call for home team occurred
That is basketball.

Woodson if you even listened to his english said he wanted JR to have ball & drive to basket with so much time left

So JR took jumper instead of shot & held ball Over 5sec before a hoist twisting show

Now whom fault is that sir?

Amare Stout is challenged on Defender end of court BUT resurrected & playin Hakeem inside ball since his return to help our knicks & in 2nd half & late in 1st Quarter Amare shook off his woes to BLITZ the paint of OKC to extent that give NY a chance to be in game, get a lead and win game down the stretch

But if JR got no room for jumper you dont try to 2nd option a pass?I; to Stoudemire who was inside paint presence all 2nd half or the game for a scoring op OR even a contact play ? vs the 5 foul Serge Ibaka

ITS ABSURD if u call that JR PLAY a good final shot Or nice enough play without a pass

Your knix team 10 as_sist whole gm for a game lost by 1 point is perhaps fine with you
And coach woodson

Well sorry
I am going to go the other way brother
10 as_sist & 1 point loss is team loss I will pin on cOach woodson...Dont care to please about that
Its solely an opinion

You wont win alot! Of games in this league with ten a_ssists whole game, or 3 per the three knick guards
Shows passing is not there but turnovers are! That is coaching to fix & Woody will see it 1 day but not last nite

Woodson also VERY happy with 1 pointer loss as a moral victory

Back in the day guys like MJ & Pat Ewing if they WON 1 point games against horrid NBA teams then
These stars woulda been pi_ssed & done different next go around even if they won game period.

It do not take much for Woodson to be pleased BUT takes much much Worse for Woody to be ticked
Like being down 25pts to foes like CAVs, KINGs, & WOLVEs but not alot gets fixed as far as basic hoops

Just watch if Mr woody plays Kmart any significant minutes (12-15) in next 5 -7 gms & on road
Will tell all what Mister Mike Woodson is really watchin & Preparing for

Fade shot.. SO $million buck ques whom fault is that? Inquiry minds needs to know
Think that same thing cant happen again? Especially in playoffs

JR went like 0-15 in that charlotte game and made the game winner. even if JR was cooling off, he WAS hot most of the game. so my problem wasnt him getting the ball...it was the shot selection

A long 2 is one of the worst shots you can take. The chances of JR making that shot were far less than just about any other shot we could've taken at that point. He was about a step inside the 3pt line. That's not a good play.

If you have a team minus it's top player then you really should run a play that gives you more than one option to score. That play gave the Thunder D a pass. He either makes the shot or misses and there's no chance to get another shot off. He had long since cooled off and he took an extremely difficult flat footed long jumper. What are we paying Woody for if not to come up with something better than that?

it is an unfortunate reality that two factors are at play here: (1) woodson is not that good of a coach in multiple aspects of coaching and (2) the collection of players we have been stuck with don't have the skill and smarts to mesh into a synergistic whole. those that do have the skills and smarts like kidd and kurt are too old to play during significant stretches of games.

knicks are in big trouble if the expectation is ECF.

The power is there to make strong moves that get you to the championship quickly, the power is there for the championship shortcut, but it's just wasted for this team, while Boston and LA put up championships on average every few years,

dk7th wrote:the main issue with this team is that woodson has not harnessed the talents and skills of the individual layers into a cohesive unit where you can transcend this isolation nonsense and actually make the defense work at following the ball to the open man.
