I am not sure why the Knicks cannot play like this more often. Coaching? Leadership? Maybe they need something to rally around to get them going?

Early in the season, there were tremendous expectations for the year and the team wanted to show they could play well despite the injuries. Perhaps that fueled them. Maybe Amar'e and Melo being out is fueling them tonight.

What helped him out of his slump tonite IMO was that first shot off the dribble, it gave him confidence in his shot, later when he started missing he went in for a layup and then drained the next one. He has to keep mixing things up. He'll always be a 3 point shooter first but that doesn't mean that's all he should do. It also makes it tougher on the defense and gives him a little breathing room now and then.

I agree! That style wears on teams and in the end you just can't defend the entire floor every game.

COPE SAYS F U WOODY!!!

Copeland not passing. Lol.

I think he is making his case to play. I think Amare's success lessened the need and minutes for Cope.

Great win on a tough night. Knicks looked great. Cope, Camby, Prigs, Martin... the knicks just keep coming at you.

The TEAM looks fluid without the overpaid blackholes....

Great game, team has been resilient the last half dozen games. Playing well without Melo or both Stat and Melo, coming back from deficits. This is what we need to see for the rest of the season, this is what we'll need in the playoffs.

One of those feel good wins. One that I think everyone needed.

I would not put it this way but I tend to agree with you. We know they are great scorers but they tend to take the flow away from the offense.

The trick is not to force it and just play TEAM BALL! That's what this team did to start the year but then they got lazy and into ISO ball and the ball stuck and movement stopped.

You need stars to take and make big shots and to step up and take over when things don't go we'll. you just can't forget about team ball tho!

I love when guys step up when the stars are out. Oak used to have epic games when Pat was out.

It also proves that when they hustle on D and play as a team they can play above expectations without the 2 top paid players.

Also Glen did good finally getting KMart. White finally contributed and all the role players showed they can execute.

Agree about KMart. I liked Brewer but getting a guy like KMart for nothing and getting a 2nd and an exception for Brewer was brilliant.

What happened?? When we loose the blog has over 20 or more pages of posts but when we win no one has any thing to say. Or just the haters post less or don't post at all.

It's because they stand around with no since of urgency. It's not that they are better without Melo or Stat it's that they try harder with out them for a few games and when they come back down to earth the need will be there. Melo should learn from this. Stop the ISO so much but it's not Melo's call it's Woody's call. I'm glad Copeland got a chance to play. I truly believe that he will be one of keys to winning in the playoffs. Woody better stop being so stubborn or he will be looking for another job next season.
