and offensively..but i blame woodson
i think as fans it's really easy to blame the coach so i keep trying to think of how someone with so much basketball experience playing at Indiana, etc and coaching with a guy like Larry Brown could not think of something to get his team to get into the paint.
I guess he's going against guys who are just as knowledgable... I dunno.
I think it can't be as simple as Mike Woodson doesn't know what he's doing...right?
woodson doesn't have the proper pgs to play his way all the time, he has solid pgs that are smart and savvy, but you need to have both.
yeah i mean i'm sure with Chris Paul instead of Amare our offense would look a-ok.

MUCH better first half than I expected.
1) really hope woody and co. come out with a counter to their countering our pick and roll by blitzing.
2) sad to see us getting beat in transition like last night but when you have an old ass team like the Knicks and the Lakers I supposed that's going to happen and that's the price for our veteran savvy.
No Cope no Hope. Is Cope in foul trouble or is Woody pulling a Woody?

Portland is still shooting nearly 50% from the field. We need to continue to take the ball paint and not settle for jumpers if to the pain if we want to win.
agreed. only issue again is Portland's adjusted to our pick and roll so we need to find another way to get the ball into the paint.
my only idea is to run a curl at the same time we're running the pick and roll to get Portland off balance...

Cope was getting into the paint a bit to start. If the Pick n Roll ain't working in the 2nd half we may need him to do that even if it's just to cause the D to collapse and kick

Ball was moving good without him, maybe thats why
WTF happened? I look at score I see we are up 10 then I look like 3 minutes later and we are down 3.
I've given up trying to understand Woody's rotations. Granted this is a harder thing to do with your stars out, but he always seems to have a questionable use of his roster. Hopefully this team gets their act together in the 2nd half and plays a bit tougher defensively and a bit smarter on offense like they did to start the game.
They change by going after ballhandlers and Knicks fall apart....we'll see what the 2nd half brings.

I was going to ask just this. Feed cut out and Bill Daughtry is talking about Blazers up at the half, WTF?

He doesn't hurt the teams ball movement. He's out there to score and he tends to make good decisions as to when to shoot. If he was a bad shot taker his percentages wouldn't be so high. He scores at 70% at the rim. I'll take that over a wild shot from someone else.
Wow Felipe Lopez is now part of MSG Radio Spanish broadcast team? Always wondered what happened to him.

He is an great iso scorer. Once the ball goes to him he scores it(like Melo).
Happy 1-Year Quitting the Knicks Anniversary,

You don't understand the difference between scoring within the offense and going ISO. Just cuz he scores a lot doesn't mean he's going ISO on every play. To go ISO is to stop all ball and player movement and hold the ball before going into your move. Not all of his points come that way. He's versatile and he tends to go quick or pass it. He scores off catch and shoot as well as drives or post ups. If you think he's a ball movement killing player you'd be wrong. JR kills more plays by over dribbling and going nowhere. Just do me a favor and check out the stats on Cope's shooting %.
