Knicks · GAME THREAD: Knicks crush the Clippers in LA! 3:30 (ET) SUNDAY! (page 10)

This is fucking painful. It is even worse than I can remember with all that has happened. Plus the fact that they had a very good start adds more salt to the wound.

Urrgh, can't watch this anymore- not mad at the Knicks, we're too undermanned, but I can't stand the Clippers- watching them drub us is just infuriating me!
NYKBocker @ 3/17/2013 5:25 PM
Oh Yeah.....Felton sucks! Is Pablo hurt?
Dagger @ 3/17/2013 5:26 PM

Same. All athletic flash and little skill. At least he has tried to work on his game.

He has improved a lot from his rookie season.

If he were on the KNicks we'd have Blake Griffin jammies.

Hahaha

Hopefully just saving him for the Jazz game- more winnable.

I was in the bodega... it was close in the 3rd quarter. I get home, Jamal Crawford is hi-fiving a double digit lead.

At least I get to watch this one here in the Rabbit Ears Ranch!

This is to force the defense to have to react and create open shots on the perimeter or score at the basket/midrange. We have too many dumb players handling the ball rather than moving the ball and moving themselves.

Knicks need to dig in on D and hope to keep the pace slow.

But the whole reason we got Felton was because he's a legit smart veteran penetrator and distributor with a track record.

Felton is a teletubby. distributor? He probably averages like 3-4 assists per game.

He was playing pretty good to start the year. What do you think has changed between now and then? Maybe all the hand and other injuries are just adding uo

Or maybe every team in the league knows exactly what we will do all game long? Becuase we don't have a offensive system?

Bingo!!! It is all on the coach. We don't have any offensive system in place. Woodson has absolutely no set plays. Woodson is the total opposite of Doc Rivers.

I've been critical of Woody as well. Mainly it's the double teaming and constant switching on D that i HATE.

But George Karl has come out and said he doesn't have any set plays either this season. It's basically just RUN RUN RUN ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK. Easier to do w/ a young team + distributor in Lawson and Iggy and Vet Andre Miller than our squad I guess.

So..both the Knicks and the Nugs don't really run set plays. Tough to say that's the only/main factor in why we're not doing well.

Look at Denver games - They play TEAM BALL - Gallo, Faried, Iggy, Lawson all share the scoring, you cant win against them by shutiing one person down. That's what has been happening to us since our 18-6 start. Denver has multiple weapons and are using them we don't and don't. The reason our team was built this way is because MElo and Woody didn't want ofensive weapons they wanted one way defense only players so MElo could get his shots. For what Woody does we don't really need a PG, we can get by with a warm body walking the ball up court and dumping it to Melo/JR or creating a turnover by failing to do so. This team is painful to watch and I could live with that if the defense was solid and consistent - but the defense right now isn't even in the top 15th.

Disagree with the part in bold. You could be right but it's all speculation. Better to stick with what we can see on the court.

Agree that the best teams in the league play team ball (Denver, San Antonio, Miami, etc)

Here's the crazy part. In the beginning of the season we looked like one of the best teams in the league and were playing team ball. That was WITH Melo, JR, etc. Melo was playing great team ball. He was defending with EFFORT and making smart passes. The entire team was passing well and defending.

I have absolutely no idea what happened to that team but logic would dictate that with the same players and the same coach..we should be able to rediscover that IDENTITY.

I don't know what our identity is now.

More positivity: at least the Knicks aren't wearing green!

And remember when we didn't have any point guards? We just had three out there at the same time!

Our main go to sets were Melo on the block iso and high pick and roll. In the event that both of those were denied, we had our hot 3 pt shooting to save them. Teams adjusted to the high pick and roll, our shooting has disappeared, and Melo is injured. The team may not be able to go back to how they played in the beginning of the season (god I hope im wrong).

Just got back, now I see this flagrant,

I really hate our roster, Kmart is a goon

Assuming Melo comes back his healthy dominant self.

I agree that teams had adjusted to our pick and roll.

?: If teams can shut down OUR pick and roll. Why is it that on D it seems like we can't shut down other teams running the same exact play?
