Yeah, probably the most consistent team over the past decade. If that is the only acceptable level of consistency, then maybe you need to lower your standards.

why should we have lower standards with the richest team in the league?

we have to have the highest standards,

why does lakers and celtics put up a championship every few years, on average, over the last 20 or 30 years? but we have not won a single championship in the last 40 years?

this is new york, 51 wins and a first round exit doesn't cut the cheesecake,

let's get there, Melo, get to the championship round, AT THE LEAST i want ECF this year, anything less is an ugly, disgusting failure

It will be interesting to see what kind of run the Knicks can have if they are able to resign JR. They certainly have overcome adversity, have gone all over the world to find talent that can contribute and have been resourceful.

mark my words mr crush:

as soon as jr gets his cash, right back down to earth he will come,

this guy is balling out of his mind for a contract, his last chance at the big money of his career, he's in his prime and he's showing up in a contract year,

don't let this man fool you, crush!!! DO NOT LET JR FOOL YOU, MY BROTHERS!!

talking about when Young Jeremy Lin dropped buckets and 8 billion people on the planet were rooting for our team,

Young Jeremy Lin? Not to be confused with the older, saavy veteran Jeremy Lin?

Cool.

where do these 8 billion people live exactly?

they live on the Planet Earth, and they were all over the Moon when J-Lin was doing his thing!

just curious.

misterearl - I despise what?

you SPIT ON ME when you say i despise this team,

some of my best memories when i was a child, watching knicks games with my dad, we grew up poor but with strong values, immigrant parents who gave their life for me, right now as i write this i can shed a tear,

so you do not tell me i despise something,

knicks are in my blood, respect that,

the only thing i am against is this current edition, nothing else,

let's bring HOOPS BACK TO NEW YORK

The current edition has brought hoops back to NY. The last time a Knick team had more wins than this team it was 1996.

Lost And Found

IronWillGiroud - 52 wins

the overwhelming majority of which (according to you) you never saw.

overall, just an ugly team to watch and very difficult to root for

Those are your exact words. You got nothing in your blood but resentment.

Money doesn't always buy the best players. To not make the playoffs in a weak conference with a big market and deep pockets? That's ridiculous. We are lucky to root for a team with such benefits. However, there are only so many star players, superstars are hard to come by. LeBron passed on us and we haven't had a top 5 pick in how long?

The salary cap only allows for so much spending. A first round loss would be disappointing but anything more than that is pretty nice. Maybe they blew the Lin situation, but that's a whole different debate. What more do you want? Grunwald has worked magic finding guys like Novak, Copeland, Lin, JR, etc hardly paying them anything. The rest can almost be summed up to luck to have a DRose, Blake Griffin, or LBJ fall in your lap. You want Dolan to start bribing referees or something?

What more can be done exactly? Should we tank for a top draft pick? We are the #2 seed. 20+ teams would gladly trade situations.

i'm just looking at the bigger time frame,

tj you will notice if you look carefully that i am a big picture thinker, an idea man,

here is the crux: we are thrown some scraps from a very nice dinner table this season, but they are still scraps if you back up and look at the last 40 years,

i will not say sorry for not jumping on the hype, 51, 52 wins? that's great, now show me what will happen in the Second Season,

AFTER they show us a strong Second Season (ECF at minimum), THEN AT THIS POINT NEXT YEAR, with 52 wins, I will buy the bag of coffee beans,

the reason i do not expect big things in the Second Season is because the Greater Trend, specifically Melo's almost decade-long career in NBA, shows that he will not lead his team deep into playoffs; further, i argue that, despite the recent hot balls win streak, even this regular season has not been so good because it is founded on two extremes, lacking a middle balance.

death of the world sandwiched between two hot balls plays, this does not translate to lasting success,

also, we keep in mind that jr, one of the critical pieces to the recent run, is playing for a contract and will revert to his shitty self after he is payed; guys that show up in contract years do not have any absolute value, this is a flash in the pan.

which is why the iron is not so glowing red for me,

The Knicks will lose game 3 in Boston

No way Carmelo Anthony can sustain this string of 30 point games, right?

The Knicks cannot be trusted to survive the overwhelming emotion of Boston Strong. That would require veteran poise and determination under pressure.

IronWilGiroud - I am in this same boat, watched 2 games this year, maybe 5 total since Melo/Woodson came to town, overall, just an ugly team to watch and very difficult to root for...

... that's the boat that I'm floating in, do you remember Linsanity, that was the last time that I would run home from work with joy in my heart, excited to watch the game, to see our Knicks play BASKETBALL, giving the business to the league

Do You Remember The Time?

In his playoff debut, Lin re-emerged resembling the D-League player who languished on the Knicks bench. James Harden was a one-man wrecking crew, attacking the rack all night. Lin, however, imploded. He scored just four points, dished three assists and had four turnovers.

IronWillGiroud - can you imagine Jeremy Lin guarding Paul Pierce?

Just curious.

Sounds like someone not having JR on their fantasy league team is causing irritable bowel syndrome, eh?

Yes indeedy, everyone buys into the whole sixth man idea instead of starting in order to garner that huge contract.
JR has already stated he's not playing for money, but to play with people like JKidd.

I forget, has it been two seasons we've had Mr. Smith Goes To MSG?

Proclamations for both sides make sense.

JR came Feb of 2012 exiled from china where he went cash strapped with no contract to the lock out season.

Upon his return the knicks made him a nice offer.

The Fable builds from their.

Where it ends? We'll just have to see.

Nalod long things he stays and we enrich him when we have his bird rights. Just my take. Anything else if from media or his mouth. He says the right things. For now, he says he wants "retire" a knick. No worry cuz "once a knick, always a knick"!

Nice to know there is always a place even when your 40!

I hope I am correct. If now, Im sure in 12 years we can sign John Wall.

Ironwill, stick to the pickup league and dead lift update threads, especially the weightlifting thread, since I would truly be interested in watching you throw this team somewhere. [<------<-----<----- notice how the jrod stays on topic]
