Hmm, something seems to have gone wrong- here are Isola's recent tweets:
The deal for James Singleton apparently fell apart. @WojYahooNBA is reporting Knicks will instead sign center Solomon Jones.Thing about Singleton is that he's a SF while Jones is a center. With Tyson, Camby & Rasheed injured, Knicks need size. Nothing official yet
Of course, the Knicks could decide to add both Jones and Singleton but that means cutting two players...Kurt Thomas and maybe James White
And if the Knicks are adding two players, something could be seriously wrong with Tyson Chandler.
Could be an issue where James Singleton couldn't get out of his contract with the Chinese club.

For 1 and 3/4 seasons, he played through injury and never missed a game. Now he's missing almost every game. Obviously there's a pretty significant problem.

That's the fear, but there's also the real possibility they've decided not to risk it and will instead take the opportunity to rest him. He looked fine in the Thunder game, but started hurting after it. Guess the smart decision is to just not push it until the playoffs.
But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried he's not going to be okay for the playoffs.
Why play Chandler when we have almost locked up everything we wanted: playoff spot, Atlantic Division and are close tothe #2 seed? If something is bothering him, let him rest this games. Same with Martin, who could probably play if the playoffs had started. I want my team as healthy as possible in Game 1.
If we cant sign Singleton now, I hope we get to in the offseason.

He has a bulging disk in his neck doesn't he? That's really, really, really bad. There's no way he's going to be anywhere close to 100% in the postseason. Any sort of spinal injury is the sort of thing that will almost certainly affect a player for the rest of his career if not his life. I hate to say it because Tyson's one of my favorite players but we might be better off trading him in the offseason while his value is still pretty high; it would hurt to do but better get something for him now than wait around and have $35M in cap space sitting on the bench in street clothes.

Bit of an exaggeration! Lot's of players get bulging disc's and are fine the next season- remember Gallo in his rookie year? Amar'e also seemed to have recovered from his (hopefully). Tyson's is unusual due it's location being on his neck, but I presume that that would have fewer long term implications due to there being less weight on that area than a disc in the lower back. Likely Tyson gets a cortisone injection (if he hasn't already had one), which will hopefully see him through the playoffs. Hopefully with some rest over the offseason he'll be fine for next season.

Gallo only played in 28 games his rookie year after injuring his back and that fought through back problems for the rest of the time he was here; remember him lying down on the sideline and stretching when he was taken out of games? He was also only 20 years old while Tyson is 30. The decrease in weight on the neck compared to the back is offset by there being less protection in terms of muscle and more movement; after one of the last games he played it was reported that Tyson wasn't even able to look up because of this.
I think Chandler will be in a huge downfall with injuries/age by his next contract
a reason why I would either look for another PF/C or give him a much lower salary in the range of under 6m in 2015

If we try and trade him this offseason I think he'd still have pretty good value around the league. I would look at LAC, GS, and OKC as the most likely trade partners; all have the pieces to put together a trade and would benefit from upgrading to Tyson.

Yep, Gallo was hindered by the back all season until it got treated in the offseason- never had any problems with it since. Think they ended up shaving a bit of his spine that was pressing against a nerve or something. Basically a bulging disc can heal itself in a few weeks. If it's still a problem after a few months then it's not going to heal itself and needs surgery.
Bulging disc's aren't an ever lasting problem- it's herniated disc's that seem to affect players for years to come (though there are exceptions). I always worry about Knick injuries, like you do, but there's a good chance this injury isn't as bad as you think it is.
I would trade Tyson in the offseason in a second. It will be a good tims to. Thanjmks for your services
