Green is a dangerous player but he is also a streaky player. Bradley shouldnt have had as mnay points as he had today. So i expect green to be more of a threat
Hopefully we dont see anymore Bradley cuts while Pierce is posting up.

They were hitting a lot of shots late in the clock in the first half...The Knicks were missing good looks and lay ups..It couldn't continue..

I called it!!! ha ha ha 8 point in the 4th quarter for the Celtics! Pathetic!!!!
It feels great to get these jerks back from what they did to us last time we met in the playoffs.
3 more to go...
Well they are w/o the guy that averages 11assists a game.
Well, we were without our starting PG Billups and most of the series without Amar'e two seasons ago, so...
So what?
So nobody cares who you are missing. Last time we played them in 2010 they didn't give a damn about our many missed players. Even now we miss our second star in Amar'e and our starting PG in Prigs. So if you want to take credit away from what the Knicks did because the C's where missing Rondo, knock yourself out.
This was a very, HUGE and impressive win by the Knicks.
Maybe you don't care but I do. And I cared when we played then two seasons ago as well.
You care that rondo didn't play? Not being confrontational. His not playing is the last thig I would think about after that game.

Hopefully not. That was our weakness. Those cuts to the hoop cant happen again
How about Melo and Kidd today ..Melo, clearly not afraid of the moment, steps up in a big spot down the stretch...Kidd with heady defensive play after heady defensive play...And KMart shutting down the middle...
How Bout That

but what was even more pronounced was lack of response to the coach's plea. When Doc Rivers said "We have them right where we want them." 4th quarter within two. Now let's go get it! " No one stepped up...no one. - Charles Darden
I know Felton got a lot of flak but he played great to me overall. Stood his ground when he was switched on to bigger guys and forced some TOs. He also was tough down low and grabbed some boards. If Shump, Cope, Kidd, Knock down there shots his game would have looked better. He didn't play a perfect game but it was big.

I liked Melo's D over his O but his second half offense was much better.Missed several open shots and late clock heaves. When he wants to he is the Knicks best Wing defender and in the playoffs he steps it up and usually play consistent D.
Kidd was great too.

Melos defense during that stretch was actually very solid too. He played Green very well.

I like felton's heart and toughness but he does have to play better on the defensive end. Felton can be an important part of this run he just has to buckle down on d

I thought melo played really good defense today he made some really good plays. He was on fire in the first quarter then he cooled down a little bit but had some big shots down the stretch
Kind of an uneven game, was definitely nervous at times, but we pulled it out and got the motherfucking win!

Has anyone heard anything new about Tyson? He looked... off and Kenyon Martin coming in and taking over made a huge difference. Do we thing Tyson's just rusty or is it his neck? I'm really worried about his neck and what it means for our playoff chances.
Nobody missed Novak today, didn't complain for him to play more minutes. Pressure is a helluva bench warmer.
this was an amazing game.
first time I actually watched it with so many friends.....great win, and great performance by our MVP on both ends.
K-Mart with the great hustle provided a huge energy boost, Kidd was great on D, Felton played his part, JR made me jump out of my seat a couple of times, and Woodson also has to get credit where credit is due.
All in all a great game, here's to more of these kind of performances from everybody, especialy Melo, maybe then he can finaly shut some people up (but oh wait he didn't shoot over 50%).
a perfect way to top off 4/20 :D
Enjoy it.
So, the Knicks played lousy, and Carmelo was stressed and forcing it most of the game, and Tyson Chandler was hurt, and there was no Pablo Prigioni and no Amar'e Stoudemire and Iman Shumpert barely showed up either. (Though he was handy against Paul Pierce on defense.) And they won, and by the end, they'd won fairly easily. If the Knicks can get back to playing like they did for the last month of the season, the Celtics are in serious trouble.
The Knicks were unpleasant to watch and almost the total opposite of the team that won 16 of their last 18 games, against a rival who has vexed them for a decade, a rival known for turning into a monster in the playoffs. It all went wrong. And, hey ... the Knicks still beat the Celtics 85-78 to take a 1-0 series lead and notch their second playoff win in nearly 12 years. If this is what happens when everything falls apart, the Knicks are in an excellent position.
Game Two is Tuesday night at the Garden. The Knicks are bound to play better than they did today. This could get fun.

I think Melo's game today was very representative of his & the Knicks' entire season....Started out great, faded in the middle, finished strong as fuck.
And generaly I was left very impressed by the whole thing :)
Oh, and generaly I thought it was a very, very entertaining game throughout the entire 48 minutes, really enjoyed watching it, you could sense it was the playoffs due to the atmosphere, it was incredibile.
Although the fact that there's so much room for improvement does fill me with even more hope.
And also take note, because the C's are Melo's worst enemy (shooting % wise, he shot the ball better against every other team this season).
Give Boston credit..They took the Knicks out of what they wanted to do...There were a few stretches where the Knicks were taking shots very late in the possession..

Papabear Says
I don't give the Celtics credit for anything. They never gave us credit.
I'm surprised it was this close. Any playoff win is great but the Knicks are definitely capable of playing better than that.
holfresh wrote:Also, are Bradley and Green going to have that same type of offensive output??
probably not, but then again Pierce has been pretty bad, not to mention Garnett who's been just terrible, I don't expect them to play like this every game.
Then again we barely got anything out of Tyson, Shump and Novak, and we're also getting Priggie Smalls back so I think we should be good as long as Melo & JR continue to lead the line and K-Mart keeps beasting.
Bonn1997 wrote:I'm surprised it was this close. Any playoff win is great but the Knicks are definitely capable of playing better than that.
think of it this way.
we have a lot of room for improvement and we still got a win inspite of it.
