Knicks · I know its early but....for next year (page 1)
All guys on this list are not going to cost much and fill a need
OUT:
James White
Q-Rich
Earl Barron
Phuck camby (he's only getting more & more brittle by the yr)
In:
Blatche (played great when bropez went down, played solid off the bench)
Maggette (take a chance on him)
Matt Barnes
Lamar Odom
Jermaine Oneal (see month of march)
Randy Foye

All those guys stink besides Blatche and maybe Foye. Lamar odom is a joke, he and his troll wife can go live under a bridge.

Only one I would pick is Matt Barnes. The rest can kick rocks. No offense.
NYK Nation Rule Number 23
"Never, ever speak against the family to anyone"
Using foul language to diss Marcus Camby, (on the playoff roster), is in poor taste and worthy of a serious reprimand.
Camby has done absolutely nothing for us this year... and probably never will for the remainder of his contract.
He has a 3 yr contract...
IS ALWAYS HURT......HURT PLAYERS CANT SUIT UP....You cant contribute when you arent in the game
If you want him on this team next yr, you're insane

I expect our starting lineup to look like:
C Chandler
F Anthony
F Smith
G Shumpert
G Felton
with Martin, Copeland, Novak, Kidd, Prigioni, and Amare back.
I think Camby, White's non guaranteed contract and possibly our first rounder could be traded for a rotation player, such as Jared Dudley.
I also expect JR's Smith brother and either Harrellson, Sims, or possibly Moz to be rounding out the roster.

Moz a RFA and Denver has said they would match offers.
If Amare back next year and Cope stays and can continue his offensive output, I would agree that Smith starts next year. I sure hope Martin and Kidd come back with similar form to this year, same with Prigs.

That's way to much for Dudley and Camby's contract plus the garbage contracts the Knicks have could get a higher salary player. I doubt any team wants that Camby contract but the way PHX medical staff works with older players maybe. It would be better for Phx to combine the garbage contracts and the 1st rounder and save the 4 million out right and not worry about Camby.

One thing I guarantee. Jr smith will be making more than8mm per. Too many people are penciling him in. Also. They better get a young plAyer w the pick. Last time we were good and did not build the back of the roster 4the future. It cost is 10 years

There will be some guys that slip through the cracks for the league minimum or the Knick scouts may bring in a couple of more guys from Europe. I also expect Shumpert to be a lot better next year after recovering from his injury and having a full summer to work and a full training camp.
The Knicks can pay Jr 5mm--thats it. I dont know how he would accept that. I dont think the Knicks need to concentrate on resigning him--they may need to beg.

He did say he would like to retire a Knick. Yeah, I know people have said things like that and changed teams asap. The thing for NY is that they can offer him a shot at a title and a very important role. Yes, the Knicks can only offer 5mm from what everybody is saying, but after that season I think they would have his rights and could offer a bigger contract, right?
If so and if Smith really appreciates the place he has here, the coach that sees him like a son and the chance to a title, I could see him staying. Wouldn't bet on it, but people thought he wasn't signing for what we could sign him this season, and he did.
We'll see...

I'm really hoping he comes back but, if I'm being honest, I don't think I would if I were in his shoes. If he opts out and we resign him that means he's making $10M over the next two seasons when he should probably be making that every year and he wants to start.
On the open market he's a 8-10m a year player.

Its pretty easy math. The best the Knicks can do is 4/22 or 1/5 and then promising him more(remember what happened to Minnesota when they did that with J Smith) If you were in the same position and a team offered you 38.5mm for 4--what would you take? After watching Kevin Ware jump up and come down and see his leg pop through his skin??? HMM Ill take the 38.5mm. I can always buy and rent out a nice apt in NY and come back after my career which isnt long anyway. And if I have been reading right--JR is in hock or close to it. There is no Benedict Arnold from JR he simply wants to take care of his family--I would have to believe. Hope this time around he is smart with his decision and his money.

I believe that his love for this team and city, plus the agreement that he receives a starting spot and his brother receives a guaranteed contract should be enough. Plus he will have guys like Melo, Felton, and Kmart in his ear telling him the extra 2-3 million a year elsewhere won't buy him happiness. They will tell him take the 5 million per year, the grass isn't any greener elsewhere.

Yeah, life can turn unexpected any moment. When you put it that way, its a foregone conclusion he is leaving, and you might be right.
Don't know if its the fan in me or if I believe in fairy tales but I think there is a chance he might take one of our two deals and look to be extended in the season that follows. This has been a magical season for Smith and the key word is maturation. There is also a factor that plays with this scenario and is the championship hunt. If the Knicks win it all this season, maybe he goes for the money as J.J. Barea did when the Mavs won.
The 4 years 22mill sure looks bad considering what you can get, but we are also talking about millions and that is a long contract, which a man with family looks for. Its logical to think you just take the highest offer no matter what, but you can have other considerations come into the equation.
In the end, it will be his call and history isn't in the Knicks side. But stranger things have happened.

Why isn't history on the side of the Knicks.... Dude just took $2.8 this past year, doesnt that recent history suggests he'll do it again?
