Why is it that every time the homosexual subject is brought up, all examples assume the homosexual will make unwanted sexual approaches to everybody?

Do you guys impulsively hit on any girl and make them feel uncomfortable when approaching them? Why do we assume that from homosexuals?

What is there to fear about if you play "flesh on flesh" (more like fabric on fabric, but anyway) with a homosexual? The guy may just want to play basketball, nothing else. And if he does and you feel uncomfortable, talk it over and move on. If he doesn't stop, just go. But please let me remark that this behavior can happen with anybody and any sex as long as somebody feels uncomfortable.

The fact that some immediately assume the worst case scenario when discussing this subject is exactly why this has to be talked about.

Exactly, I think people seem to get sexuality mixed up with sleaziness. If you went to play basketball with another man and they started rubbing up against you for their own sexual gratification, that's not okay- they're being sleazy and making unwanted sexual advances, same as if you played basketball with a woman and started rubbing up against her it's not okay- it's nothing to do with the sexual preference, it's them being sleazy. Everyone has a right against being violated or harassed.

More heterosexual men behave in that way towards woman than gay men behave that way towards men, so should heterosexual men be banned from working with women? Of course not. Because it's nothing to do with sexual preference, it's about behaving appropriately and not being sleazy.

BRIGGS, how would you feel if you found out that every woman at work was actually fearful of working with you, worrying that you'd stand close to them, or rub up next to them in the elevator? That every time you went in a store, the female cashier became worried you were going to start making sexual advances on her? Having people always thinking that because of your sexuality, you are always going to a) hit on them and b) be unable to control yourself. What would you say to them?

smackeddog @ 4/30/2013 5:11 AM
Phew! Heterosexuals can breathe a sigh of relief- Chris Broussard agrees with your sexuality!

That's a huge weight off my mind, I've always worried about what Chris Broussard thinks of me and whether he believes I'm a moral person. Often when I'm in difficult ethical situations, I must admit I do think look to the sky's and ask myself "what would Chris Broussard do?".

Chris Broussard is better than any of us because he only has sex for the purpose of procreation- unlike you lot with your lustful villainy!

SAS comments on the matter would set it off, when does he come on radio today 10 am ?

Because this didn't have to become public, I know it shouldn't matter what his sexual preference is, but the when you play sports, you are always changing in locker rooms together and it could make someone else feel uncomfortable even if he's not starring at you. It's a shame but our society really isn't there yet and in the male sports world, I don't think it will ever be. So don't ask, don't tell should be the policy, no one cares who you sleep with, keep it to yourself, and come out when you are retired if you feel the need to do so because a team player wouldn't hamper their locker room, which unfortunately this could do that. Since he's a free agent, it lessens the impact, and now if he doesn't get a contract the media will think its because he's gay.

Now when Collins doesnt get another job cos he sucks its gonna be cos he is gay

No sir, this is how people are in our society today.

Do you know how much money will be represented with this agenda worldwide ? Nike is just waiting to make a buck off this agenda and so many others.

Thank you chris....being gay is not normal. You don't have to accept this behavior and think it should be part of your lifestyle. Respect it and move on. I think that's all most of us are saying. No disrespect to anybody.

Thank you LJ. I hope more pros come out and really speak how they feel.

Johnson tweeted that he does not know Collins and that he "seems like a great guy" but added that he'd be "uncomfortable" having "gay men" in the locker room.

define respect... this is all I ever hear. You believe in equal rights? Gays can get married? Should be treated equally?
misterearl @ 4/30/2013 7:37 AM
Super proud of Collins to be the first NBA player brave enough to publicly admit he plays for the Washington Wizards #courage.

Kenny Smith: "He needs to work on his shot."

definition of a biggot

Great job by Chris indeed. Its not normal and defined as a sin by the same book that endorses slavery, stoning my wife if she commits adultery and that the world was created in a week.

Hey.. many folks think blacks should have the same rights as whites. So long as they arent in their workplace. Or their kids schools. Or on sports teams. Or in their neighborhoods. Im SURE they mean no disrespect to anybody either. Im sure most are god loving christians also.

In a few years when Broussard gets divroced he will have gays to blame for ruining what the definition of his marriage means.

Nalod @ 4/30/2013 7:52 AM
NBA players still shower together?

Eyes up gentleman, eyes up!

If a gay player is going to stare at another's junk and get aroused thats one thing.

Collin's been in the league 12 years and its not like he got backed down and got a boner. Its basketball.

I don't think every player has to "come out" but someone had to do it first and then the protocol has to how its handled going forward.

I suppose its not a matter of acceptance. Dude brings his companion to a team event where others bring their wives.

And yeah, a gay man on an athletic team can't start lisping and be all open and garish about it. Just do the job and keep it real! No big deal!

LIke everything else there is no set way to go about it. A guy who can reach the NBA has to be talented and wanted. To make it that far he earns respect on the court.

Doesnt have to be a superstar, just someone whos a fan favorite, then ppl would be more receptive, but I do agree sexuality has nothing to do with ability.
If peyton manning were gay, would he not be peyton manning anymore?

but for this to be Groundbreaking it is going to take a BIG NAME or superior athlete to come out

that was my thought too. Also, in many ways he is probably one of the worst people to come out first because of is personality which came across to me as soft and weak, totally lacking in aggression. Back in the days, guys would be calling him a big soft f....I don't even want to use that word.

I have a gay sister and have always been sensitive to the subject. I love my sis and wouldn't change her for the world.

You realise Chris is also saying that you are immoral and will burn in hell for having sex outside of marriage, don't you? How do you feel about that? You are participating in 'abnormal behaviour'- should you have to change the way you live and how you have sex based on the views of Chris Broussard? No? Then why should gay people?

Chris used to have sex outside of marriage. Now because he's a born again christian, he thinks he is absolved of his 'sins' and has some moral authority to insult other people, when in actual fact it just makes him a hypocrite.

John 8 3-10
3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
4 they say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: Lev. 20.10 · Deut. 22.22-24 but what sayest thou?
6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

Matthew 7 1-5
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. Mk. 4.24
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

If Chris has changed his ways being born again, he isn't being a hypocrite unless he practices it now. Obviously he's been enlighten from being in darkness about a matter.

Rom 1:20-27 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn't worship him as God or even give him thanks.

And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools.
And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.

So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie.

That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.

Chris isn't walking in that darkness and then talking about others in the dark.

1 Cor 6:9-11 Don't you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.

Some of you were once like that But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. .
