The pollen fills the air with toxic breath as Woodson returns with his catch. Dinner will later than usual. The boys are upstairs playing dressup. He checks on them before preparing the meal and sees them laying out fine black threads. "Who died" he jokes! JR chimes in "Celtics" pops, "Celtics"! JR is confident and boasting about the big game he will have. Melo, is in the mirror sizing up where his next tat's will be in the off season. Thinks a bust of Walter Kennedy, whose name is on the championship trophy might be cool.

Woodson shakes his head and mumbles "I hope they know what they are doing".........

After the bad loss the father figure is mad and the boys are ashamed. On the way home little is said. Woodson says nothing. The quiet hangs in the air like a bad stench released from the colon.

They arrive at the home and its just understood, no video games, no watching Scarface for the 809th time, just head to bed.

They look at woodson and he says just two words: "man up". The words are suspended in time and the effect is intense.

The players look at each other and nod as if they know what to do.

Then they chuckle, call out Woodson to remind them they are the players and he is the bytch! Melo fires up his bentley and seeks the whole grain goodness of La La while JR jumps on his bike and tweets nonsensical gibberish looking to get some phat booty!

Woodson retreats to his sanctuary and stares in the mirror. He sees a man with a gray hair on his face. No he says, we will not go quietly into the night! A fresh box of "just for men" is retrieved and the dark abyss returns.

If only there was a bottom in sight.

He told the story that Willis was a young high flying rookie of the year 6 years before the knicks won, and as knee injuries mounted Willis got more powerful and grew strong his game. He was their captain and while clyde was the hero it was his symbolic effort in game 7 that rallied the team and freaked out the mighty Chamberlin! Woodson thought maybe he would try to play Amare if there was a game 7 and perhaps that magic could work again!!!!!

I guess in hindsight its easier to critique lets give "coach" Kidd the benefit of the doubt for a moment and consider that one cannot perhaps fathom they respond so badly to a team unity proposition.

Melo and JR have some serious reputation baggage they are carrying and trying to shred. Game 3 for JR was his test and he mentally bailed. Game 5 last nite was on Melo to free himself from the "one and done" label.

ITs all good when your "coming come" and prior series as the team was really un equipped to make a run.

Knicks are no. 2 seed and not reeling in the face of losing Amare at all. This is a no. 2 seed who really does not know how to close a series and not battle tested.

Win game 6 on their court and earn some playoff cred.

Hope you're right- if it comes down to talent we should win, but the celtics have many dirty tricks and head games, and as the regular season showed we're susceptible to both. Man I won't be able to sleep easy until this series is over...

The New York knicks are learning to trust each other in playoff calibre basketball without over-reliance on Carmelo Anthony. Carmelo can shelve his three point shot and leave it to Pablo Prigioni.

Raymond Felton and Pablo Prigioni are playing with such purpose that the next round will be an opportunity to play better. I Man Shumpert is celebrationg his one year injury anniversary with new confidence. His defense makes us hard to contend with.
