this is where your argument fails.. when was that series a grind it out series? scores were well into the 100's..
And why are we struggling in grind it out games? You are now going to use the argument that Garnett and pierce are playing like superstars? come on man... Denver lost because they didn't defend like they could, and Golden state played their game better than denver did for the most part.. didn't help that denver was missing gallanari but this series was about guard play, sometimes a team can present a matchup problem.. plain and simple... both are young teams with room to grow...
Pierce took over in game 5 and Curry has taken over all series. Stars win in the playoffs plain and simple. Denver doesn't have that. Fortunately, we do.
And grind it out doesn't mean low scoring. It means having better opportunities to take advantage of every possession on offense and playing better defense.

In the end, the league has about 4 stars.. we don't have one... GSW don't have one, Denver doesn't have one, the nets don't have one..... so basically you are admitting that the finals will be decided between, harden, durant, Duncan, pierce or lebron?
Four Stars? Can't say that's a defensible position. We didn't win last year because we had one star and we got flattened by a team with three, two of which are superior players to our star.

Nah it was because I knew it would piss off certain people - like "you did it now, you pissed them off". I'll admit, they get annoying but it should be about the Knicks right now.

If Denver was in the Eastern Conference, you guys don't think they make it through the 1st round? I do. Gsw played a helluva series. Both teams had injuries, but I think Denver was hurt the most by injuries. DLee is awesome and everything, but GSW had enough scoring, they needed defense. Denver had a recovering Faried, Lawson not at his peak either, Gallo out.

I have always thought Denver's record was inflated by their altitude.. they certainly have talent but the coach decided to win games on athleticism and stamina and not skill...They have a losing road record...I have been saying that all season...Now we are calling GS world beaters..Come on...

Every stat other than PPG indicates that Melo had a nightmare series and the team won because of the play of several other players. The team did almost all its damage every time Melo was put on the bench. No doubt, last night and today are a very nice time for Knicks' fans. I'm happy that Felton had such a great series, that Shumpert and Prigs played pretty well, and Tyson got better each game.
The point is that we definitely didn't win because we have a "superstar." Likewise, Denver didn't lose because they lacked a go-to scorer - they averaged about 110 PPG.
It seems that no matter what happens on the court, Playa will say the team that won did so because it had a superstar and the team that lost did so because it did not. It's basically agenda-driven, fact-blind posting.
Let's celebrate a great time for the team without trying to ridiculously stretch what actually happened on the court into some preconceived agenda.
Knicks play good when Melo sits yet he averaged 41 minutes per game so far.
Knicks did win because we have star. The other guys were able to get off just by Melo being on the floor. Boston was focused on Melo not Shumpert, Felton, and Prigioni.
Also the TEAM let Boston go on that massive run. Melo stepped up and helped stop the bleeding.
