I saw most of the video and focused on the 'court vision' portion. The kid doesn't really have court vision. He only passes to people directly in his field of view. For a highlight video I wasn't impressed with his passing.
His shooting and handle are great though. So he's an undersized SG, but he can bring up the ball under pressure, but not a great defender, and not a great orchestrator?
He's a great pass first PG with a lot of size agility and scoring ability. I know there are some great athletes who can beat nate down the court or jump higher than him. I also think nate is the best or 2nd best PG in this draft and getting him at 24 would be a steal. This is not Jimmer Fredette--this is a 6-4.5 200 pound agile PG with great ballhandling skills who basically avg 20-5-5 for the last 3 years and played great against every high major he faced sans one bad shooting night. This isnt a guy who will be at the 40-40 a day before the game--he'll be shooting or practing and I think he can be an NBA all star one day

BRIGGS - I respect your scouting skills but this kid is pegged in the 2nd round by both draftexpress.com and nbadraft.net. Maybe we can buy a late 1st round or early 2nd round to select this Wolters. Maybe select Giannis Adetokoubo in the 24th pick.

From what I have seen its good. Hes also atleast 4 inches taller than Felton but the main thing with Wolters is his all around skills combined with that size. Some of these guys hes getting compared to--hes 3 inches taller than them. 3 inches makes u a different player and teams will find that out.

He looks like a good player. Look at the way he grabs some of those boards. Thats what impressed me most. There's a little bit of Nash to his scoring too. Can he break down and create and get into the lane?
Knicks did best most of the year when they played the small ball, 2PG style. I truly believe the Knicks succeed when they can put more shooters on the floor. He could make some sense for this team.

Looking at some advanced stats (without foreign players) you would have Burke #1 on the PG board Williams # 2 Larkin # 3 all these guys are ranked in the top 11 2 8 and 11 the next PG on the list is Wolters at 22 hes the next PG. We have pick 24. Only Lorenzo Brown Williams and Wolters are PGs in this draft who are 6/4.5 or taller. The next few PGs on the board go Kabongo 28 Jackson 32 Greene 43 Brown 45. This all based on advanced statistical projection for NBA impact. Wolters would be the BPA at PG and possibly a BPA overall on the board,
They mention Nate as a riser and that he was able to create his own shot at will in Chicago and towered over everyone. I think we can get this kid. If Jason Kidd stays on this team--we have one 6-4 hall of famer who can mentor another 6-4 PG who can help be a rotational piece for us

Same question as Vdesai - Is he quick enough to get into the lane? Having a drive and kick PG would be a great addition to this team and that's why I prefer Larkin, who seems like a poor man's Ty Lawson, but it seems like you're saying he's climbing up in rd 1 now, yes?
With a drive and kick PG, Novak may even become relevant again.
If it's Wolters @ 24, I'm OK with that because of your thorough research and I just think the Knicks need a PG in the worst way (assuming Prigs is gone).

I don't even think he needs major speed to get into the lane but he does have to be aggressive and look for his shot at times when he does get into the lane. Just think back at how many times Prigs got into the lane for an easy lay up but passed it. Sometimes it was the right pass but a lot of times he passed up a for sure two for a maybe three of lost possession because the player passed up the shot. Pure speed is not a necessity. It helps.

How is his defense garbage? You've watched him play a whole game? In the interview J Givony the guy who runs draftexpress and Seth Davis were telling you that in Chicago--he was blowing by his defenders--does that sound like a slow guy? He cant run like a Larkin but hes also 5 inches taller 30 pounds heavier. He's got good basketball speed and hes a skilled ballhandler and distributor. Look at almost any advanced statistical analysis and Nate is a top 20 player--he grades behind Larkin Williamd and Burke--but those guys will all be gone. Nate Wolters is very likely going to be close to the BPA and very likely the best PG available. In advanced stats Burke Williams Larkin went 3-8 11 and Wolters 22. Next guy was like 7 spots away.

I like to come back to this video of Wolters against Washington who has a lottery pick Terrance Ross and a second 1st round pick Tony Wroten who were guarding Nate and he went for 34 points 7 assists and 5 rebounds. and 3 steals. The commentator is Lenny Wilkens. Listen to what he says about Nate's body control his pace to the game his command of the ball and how he creates for others. A guy hwo is almost 6-5 with that type of agility and ball-handling skills can simply shield the ball with his body--kind of how Mark jackson played. Mark Jackson was no speed burner but he was big and he knew how to use it--so does Nate--thats why they said Nate did a good job against the larkins Greenes etc at the combine hes bigger than them they cant guard him--its hard to guard someone who weighs 30+ more than you who is also 3-5 inches taller. WHEN watching this video notice how many times Wolters gets into the lane--he does it at will.

If I go by advanced stats and say Larkin Williams and Burke are off the board by 24 and you are looking for a PG--who would you take? There is no Russel Westbrook or John Wall in this draft. But there are good solid PGs who can play. Nate happens t haev a unique skill set--lets see what happens --when Im this high on someone Ive been wrong ---not once.

If Larkin and Goodwin are taken before 24 then I guess we could take Wolters. My problem with him seems like his lack of ability to stay in front of quick guards. If he is all that is available at 24 then I'm fine but otherwise I go small with Larkin. Speed kills in the NBA. It's the difference between Lawson and Augustin.
Alot of teams are going to pass on Larkin because he is 5' 10" with an average wingspan. BTW, I dont think Larking is starting material in the NBA either.
